Three more seeds dropped but there is only one place to start.Justin Hood and Danny Noppert played out quite possibly one of the greatest Last 64 games ever seen in the PDC World Championship as Happy Feet melted The Freeze in a sudden death epic. Five straight holds with the set going to the Somerset midget kicked things off with both averaging over the ton. Then the first cracks: Noppert missed 114 on tops twice and Hood punished both times and took Set 2 in 4. Three further holds meant match darts were imminent for Justin and he just missed the bull to win with a 167. Danny then went daft, hitting 102 to level the set and breaking in 11 to trail 1-2 and then running Set 4 in 4 legs for a scarcely believable level game. Then a final set which put Wade-Evans to shame: the Dutchman hitting 126 on D6 to level at 1-1, a 71 break to lead 2-1, his only match dart attempt at D10 to finish 128 which saw the Englishman pin D8 last dart in hand for tiebreak. Hood broke immediately, missed a second match dart and had to watch Noppert slam in a 157 to level once more. Again: Hood break, missed match dart on D16 for a 134, Noppert makes it 4-4. Happy Feet pounds in a 156 out, The Freeze responds with 127 on the dot. Amazingly the sudden death leg saw the debutant dwarf hold in 15 having averaged 107 for the set. Danny Noppert averaged 102, finished at 47% and he was still comprehensively outplayed. Keep this up and Hood has a genuine chance of making it out of this section of the draw.Elsewhere, Peter Wright and his sub-80 average was humiliated 3-0 by Arno Merk, Callan Rydz edged out Daryl Gurney in their own five-set tiebreak classic, Jermaine Wattimena had to hold off a Scott Williams fightback to win 3-2, Jonny Tata threw away a 2-0 lead to lose to Ryan Meikle, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson both won in 4 sets, and Josh Rock also won 3-0.We return 27th December for the Last 32.
