how do they have such a strong hold on pro football?over the years theres been a dozen or so startup leagues but they all failed hard except maybe the afl and area football which just did fail as hard
This is America. Eurofags are fine with a dozen leagues that they can pretend are top tier. Americans want the best in the same league.
>>152670055im meant american leagues like xfl usfl ifl nfl Europe wfl etc not different counties like cfl or mexico
>>152670055each league is in a different country. there is no Premier League competitor in England, or a Bundesliga competitor in Germany. Euros just have the "privilege" of the average Euro country being smaller than Nevada so it's like the equivalent of every State in the union having its own pro football league. We could (and at various points did) have state-specific pro leagues, but the nature of national-level television broadcasting means the NFL will inevitably always be at the top of everyone's mind.
Because despite its claims of being capitalist America loves oligopolies and monopolies
>>152670442>Same teams win Yuropoor soccer every yearYeah just keep telling yourself that
NFL has a monopoly on the best players. It is leagues above college or whstever the weird wwe owned football and canadian shit is called. watching the best of the best play against eachother is just more interesting than college and weird summer leagues. The NFL won just because of that. But the NFL is also the best presented sport in the world. Each game is hype as fuck with buildup and crazy production value etc. NHL is awesome but they peaked in the 90s/early 2000s and shit the bed with strikes and just running the league like it was college puck. No way to watch the games, way too many games etc. NFL has everything juuuust right. Lasts not even half a year, gets people through winter. Teams play once a week and only 16 games a year, which makes each game matter. Playoffs are exciting and brutal, no redos or game 6's. I could keep going but yeah, the game of football is just a fantastic game. Everyone falls in love once they start understanding the rules and stakes. Pare that with carefully planned schedules and production and then inherent danger and violence by the best of the best, making certain players/positions stars and household names and youve got yourself something special.
>>152669950>except maybe the aflThe AFL succeeded so hard that it achieved relative parity in under 10 years and forced a l merger.
>>152670683>a merger*I'm a retard
nfl is garbage compared to college ball right now, rules too honestly
>>152669950Because any other interest in football but as the second tier of the sport is taking up by the thousands of college programs making a third system not get any support
