The Caribbean teams caught up and started taking advantage of their European trained diaspora which none of the central american national teams can match because their youth development is nonexistent and they have very few expats in Europe or in Brazil/Argentina down south. Costa Rica was the strongest team in the region and they havent come close to even replicating that late 2000s, early 2010s team.

And the reason why the Caribbean teams attracted more dual-nats this time around is because of the expanded world cup, meaning that more dual-nats were willing to play for their home countries because Concacrap qualifying is easier now than ever before.
>Suriname: Dutch mutts that are 3rd or 4th tier prospects, but trained in Eredivisie
>Curacao: Same as Suriname
>Jamaica: English 5th tier prospects + some solid players in Bailey and Antonio. However they are dysfunctional as fuck with players arguing amongst themselves and the Jamaica FA always fighting with the national team
>Haiti: French 5th tier prospects. The weakest in terms of talent but heavily outperformed every other Caribbean team in the qualifiers since they were arguably in a group of death with Honduras and Costa Rica.
