What the progressive wing of college football discourse fails to understand is that they are but golems, pushovers working in the interest of cultural decay
>"B-b-but players were always paid!
they will feebly shout while pointing to a few isolated scandals so long ago the average SEC fan of today would not have had power nor running water. Give them that fallacy though, and it still does not matter.

The fact is that accepting some "progress" and moralizing immorality by excusing the immorality of the past is simply ridiculous and unhealthy culturally. Imagine some nut on the street yelling
>Oh but rape has always been illegal, and that's never stopped anyone! We should drop the illusion of consent and simply legalize rape l, it's only natural!
Of course you would consider it a ridiculous argument. The existence of cultural ideals (in this case, sports amateurism) is not for the purpose of preserving that ideal from all damage, but to mitigate it. No perfect world exists and wrongdoers will always break the rules, but simply laying down and accepting traditional immorality as a new achievement to be celebrated is the unmistakable sign of a culture in complete collapse. Football is but a microcosm of the whole destruction of Euro-American world in favor of a judeo-muttoid hellscape.

The last 8 years has demonstrated that about 90% of the NCAA's rules and rulings were gentlemen's agreements that no one fucked with. Once they started fucking with them, there was nothing the NCAA could really do to stop it.

Send Mississippi State your energy tonight lads.

>>152785647
Impose limits on transferring and make players ineligible to receive NIL benefits for their first season at their new school.

But you can't do that because the NCAA is a toothless organization that can't enforce rules anymore. Just like the NIL Clearinghouse, first the NCAA challenges a player's NIL they'll get sued and a homer judge in the same state the school is in will rule in favor of the player.
>>
>>152785710
That's how they all are. MLB, NFL ... all had to get hauled to court to get a little bit of the money and power to the players.

>>152785742

Theoretically yes but they need to get federal waivers to delay or release them from their service obligation. There was an EO Trump signed in his first term that made it easier, that was rescinded by Biden + codified in law that cadets couldn't get employment in professional sports before meeting their obligation. I think the waiver process still exists in some capacity though.

>Also easily the best school in the state for freshwater biology.
So I'm not even trying to dunk on that major with this question, I'm genuinely curious: what are the career prospects for a freshwater biology degree that would lend itself to marketing that fact?
I immediately think of orgs. like the EPA, Park Service, Wildlife and Fisheries orgs. all public service and all well and good. Are there industrial applications for this? Do Nvidia or DuPont have freshwater biologists on staff to evaluate water supplies for their plants or something?

Zero outside of academia or game warden. If you want to be comfy game warden boating around all day checking fishing licenses, that degree is for you (or you can go to ass to mouth and major in their game warden major and automatically get a job)

From what I understand the most lucrative positions are consulting for hatcheries, maintaining fishing stock ponds, etcetera. They are also likely consulted for power plants etc, but more likely they contract out help from academia. There's also always money in conservation research, parks and wildlife, etc.

I met a freshwater biologist once who made like $160k/yr designing and maintaining stocked ponds for like 16 hrs/week and just fished the rest of his life but I am positive he is an anomaly and he makes money because he had a great personality and people skills. He marketed himself well.

Again, im a medfag, hard to say.

David Robinson was drafted to the NBA out of Air Force. The Spurs had to wait two years after drafting him so he could complete his two years of service. So basically if a player is future HoF potential, they would wait on him. I don't think Navy football has ever had an equivalent player of that caliber though.

It’s CFB and all the teams don’t play eachtoher so the teams are ranked based on other factors and if your team loses in the best conference you get write it off as a ‘good loss’. So it’s of secondary importance that your teams conference is perceived as the best because it means any wins are better and any losses are not bad. Don’t be a stupid ass.

We have 5 dog shit SEC teams in the playoff becuase of people pretending their losses didn’t count and their wins were good. In fact they were all dogshit.

Well, if you're weighting it in that manner, sure. I would think violent crime would be more important than infant mortality, which is hardly even a thing any more. I love when libtards are so obvious in their approach. Never change, libtards. Never ever change, please.

I'm unironically having a hard time coping with the fact that the top of the SEC isn't as dominant as it used to be. You have to understand that I grew up watching college football when the SEC was so far ahead of everyone else, they won like 7 straight Natties with teams like Bama and Florida completely dominating and being 2-3 deep at every position. Indiana assraping Bama like that just completely shocked me. We've seen Bama lose to outer conference teams, but they've never looked like THAT before, completely fucking futile.

>Infant mortality is hardly even a thing anymore
Wild thing to say when it’s literally one of the most basic indicators of how well a society takes care of its people. Violent crime matters but so does whether babies survive their first year of life, dumbshit.
>>
>>152786763
Kind of silly to make a graphic that weights all those things the same. Massachusetts and New Hampshire get screwed for having high home prices, but they only have high home prices because their wages are incredibly high and the states are highly desirable places to live, which drives prices up. So criterion number seven actually punishes states for being too good and frames them as less desirable because of that.

America has a 5.61 per 1000 infant mortality rate, or 0.56% of the population. Virtually non existent. You might as well be measuring quality of life by how many people get dysentery.

If violent crime at a rate of 0.004% of the population is worth obsessing over, then 0.56% of births ending in death isn’t suddenly irrelevant, you fucking retard. Most developed countries do substantially better, which is exactly why infant mortality is used as a comparison metric.
