Obviously the Big1+3 are miles ahead of everyone else, but which national leagues are the next strongest? Not just who has one or two moneyball clubs, but overall depth of quality and support. How many non-European leagues make the Top 10?
>>152786163I‘d give 5 to France and 6 to Brazil, I‘d even say it’s very close and could be the other way round. The Campeonato Brasileiro is so balanced, it evens out any supposed lack of quality at the very topBehind that, it is very close. Portugal for example has three really good clubs, one or two more decent ones, but the rest are pretty bad. Hard to compare it with others. Personally, I‘d say Belgium is 7th, Netherlands 8th, Argentina 9th, Portugal 10th all in all. Perhaps higher if you value the top teams more, although they rarely seem to have two or three of them perform really well. Argentina and the US are also hard to rate in general because their leagues have an unusually high amount of teams - I also admit not really following the Argentinian leagueAfter that, it seems downright impossible for me. Turkey, Japan, Mexico, the US, Denmark and maybe Poland come to mind. In no particular order. If second tiers are allowed, the Championship and maybe even the 2nd Bundesliga would be in there
>>152786912I think you're being too unfair with Portugal. The lower teams are shite but the top 3 alone would make it better than Argentina, which has a thirty teams league with lots of shitters.
>>1527861633 things are important when rating a league>competitive balance top to bottom>cyclical dominance>skill level>tactical level>talent production or developmentAnything else is meme. Muh money means nothing if it doesn't result in anything. Now, answering your questions:>but which national leagues are the next strongest?Overall, Brasileirão only loses to the Premier League>How many non-European leagues make the Top 10?Only Brasileirão. Portugal, Netherland, Belgium, Turkey close off the top 10. Japan has great tactical level, MLS has great balance due to its commie league system, Argentina has great talent production, but overall they have glaring weakness.

1. EPL2. La Liga3. Bundes4. Ligue 15. Serie A6. Brasilerao7. Eredivisie8. MLS9. Tugao10. Either J-league or Belgium league
>>152787353I may be giving Boca and River too much credit, that could be. As I said, I am definitely no expert on the Argie league, even compared to what I know of the Brazilian league. I have no problem with Portugal being 9th. I just didn’t want to undersell South America, I suppose …I also increasingly think the Dutch league is ahead of the Belgian one … I thought Belgium was ahead in the UEFA coefficient and on the rise in general, but that isn’t really true as of now. Then the question remains Belgium vs. Portugal … Portugal is ahead in the UEFA coefficient, albeit not by that much, and I assume the quality runs deeper in Belgium. Since both leagues will likely be neck and neck in the coefficient once Belgium‘s ghastly 21/22 season will be deleted next year, I will give Belgium the benefit of the doubt hereSo I‘d put it at>5th: France>6th: Brazil (very close)>7th: Netherlands>8th: Belgium>9th: Portugal>10th: ArgentinaBrazil being 5th remains a real possibility. That’s very impressive considering the UEFA clubs have more money and the CL to attract players with
