looks like i lost my first game of the SimLeague Hockey season... btw my team is the Edmonton Oilers lineup from NHL Hockey 92 on the Sega Genesis.i thought Messier, Tikkanen and Joe Murphy (my guys on the first line) would be productive, but for some reason they weren't aggressive enough to shoot the puck in the opponent's net throughout this game.Dave Brown (my team's enforcer) scored my only full strength goal, and Ken Linseman (my second line center) scored the ShortHanded goal after Steve Smith (my top defenseman alongside my other one, Charlie Huddy) got hit with a 2 minute penalty for holding.Martin Gelinas and Chris Joseph assisted on Dave Brown's standard goal, while Jeff Beukeboom and Adam Graves assisted on Linseman's shorthanded goal.and on top of that, Bill Ranford got pulled in favor of my backup Grant Fuhr (i only listed him as a backup goalie for my team because he legit missed a big chunk of the 1990-91 NHL season when he got suspended for drug use, but otherwise if the losses start piling up, i'll replace Ranford with Fuhr and make Fuhr the starting goalie).
here's my box score for both the skaters and goalies
looks like I got whooped by Gretzky, Warren Young and Henrik Sedin
as of right now, my point producers are:> Dave Brown (RW): 1 goal + 0 assists = 1 point> Ken Linseman (C): 1 goal + 0 assists = 1 point> Martin Gelinas (LW): 0 goal + 1 assist = 1 point> Chris Joseph (D): 0 goal + 1 assist = 1 point> Jeff Beukeboom (D): 0 goal + 1 assist = 1 point> Adam Graves (C): 0 goal + 1 assist = 1 pointand my goalies:> Bill Ranford (starter): 20 saves / 25 shots on goal = 80.0 save percentage and 5 goals scored against> Grant Fuhr (backup): 13 saves / 16 shots on goal = 81.3 save percentage and 3 goals scored against
not a good start to the season...
nice thread schizo
152883367just let me summarize my SimLeague Hockey season in peace, ok.
this is not for the NPCs, it's for the good ones who need to hear it, will hear it. i'm not here to provide cheap laughs, yuks and easy clout like a lot of other posters do.this is for those who enjoy SimLeague Hockey and sports simulation games in general. it's tailor-made for the real ones who will hear it and enjoy it.
very good threadand while i do not play hockey sims or simleague hockeyi enjoy zengm, which is a litle different its not multiplayer you just run through seasons but i do zengm basketballi like tos tart in the 80s before the salary cap and just stack superstar free agents i run my team strictily by PER, i trade for PER, i dump players irresepective of anything elese if they start dropping in PER, and so on, and i do pretty good i win championships on the highest difficulty level ill show u guys sometime but i haven't really played in a few years
keep going OP
>>152883757i've never touched ZenGM, but it's good to know that you do it the old school way of building your team.>>152883770thanks and much appreciated
When’s your next game?
>>152884012next game will be coming up soon. just hoping my EA 92 Edmonton Oilers team put on a better performance than this sparse outing with just 2 goals and neither of them coming from my first line guys.hopefully Messier, Tikkanen and Joe Murphy (and maybe Steve Smith and Charlie Huddy too off course) can turn it around, and if i ever get any more bad games from Bill Ranford, then Grant Fuhr can take over.
more of an ice hockey simulating nation
if i continue to lose games with Ranford as my main goalie, please give me the word and tell me to bench him for Fuhr.
my EA 92 Edmonton Oilers also lost the second game of the season, only i almost had it with Petr Klima's goal putting us ahead 2-1 until my opponent came back.
Bill Ranford did a bit better in Game 2 than he did the previous game where he got pulled and replaced with Fuhr.
shoutout to Bill Ranford and Petr Klima for keeping us in the game, until the very bitter end.
