It's as simple as "elevating" your teammates (which is the only way to reliably elevate your team's ceiling without star power) but there are a million factors going into it. Chemistry for one, is important. With Luka you see 50% of the potential DA (had) in a player like Hayes just pan out way better, and get elevated. Off court relationships are like this too, like with Jimmy you see how he's trying his best to get people involved and feel connection with him (assume this is at his best not being a diva). But these are little things when it's compared to the fact some guys just can't hit their shit. Luka generates the same quality looks as SGA and Jokic but isn't quite good enough at bringing a good game out of players he doesn't gel with, like a Jimmy, or a Steph or Jokic can do. It's why he looks way more selfish than he is, he feeds who can keep up with him, and ignores the people who keep fucking up the gold he is handing them. It's polarising.
