8 years overdue.
>>
Steelers bros, we're finally free.
>>
But who's going to teach the Steelers how to cheap shot and get away with it now?
>>
He'll spend a year doing pregame shit for CBS/FOX and then take a good gig next year
>>
>>152963701
he's going to the ravens and harbaugh is going to the steelers
>>
Just wait until the new coach has his first losing season, then his second losing season ...
>>
>>15296364
Name one Steelers Team that didn't
>>
after 19 years of getting BLACKED, pittsburgh has had enough.
>>
>>152963701
He's a house nigger, not sure if anybody needs or wants those anymore now that there aren't any QBs around smart enough to take control of an offense.

9 straight seasons of mediocrity is really impressive. By pure chance you’d expect there to be at least one flukey good season and one very poor season in the mix. I wish him the best.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes a job higher up in the organization

Cowher never went back. The Steelers are a comfy organization and 19 years as an NFL head coach is a lot.
Anyway he's just a good system coach, a personality manager before anything else, a guy who can manage retards and intellectuals, be their friend and have team cohesion between 54 players and even more staff. He's essentially the opposite of Harbaugh or Belichick who have difficult personalities in scheming minds and demand full control.
He'll do a lot better on a broadcasting team than he will on another NFL team. He's just a generation too old now, the players who he could be an older mentor friend to are now young enough to be his son.
>>
>>152964031
Possible but I think the chances are low, although going into management anywhere might be his best option in the long run if he wants to continue working in the league.

>>152964054
Even though broadcasting is a great gig, I don't think he'd be good one and if he pursues that path he'll wash out imo. What do people see in him that makes them think he'd be a good broadcaster?
>>
Can Tomlin even take another HC gig this year? He’s still got a year left on his contract and he stepped down as opposed to getting fired

he's black and talks well. That's all you need
>>
I'm from Pittsburgh. I hate The Steelers, The Rooney's, The NFL and Tomlin. I watched last night's game in the hopes that they'd lose and he'd go, so it was a good night.
>>
Raiders chud was saying in the other thread everyone would kill for Mike Tomlin. Watch the Steelers hire an actual offensive minded coach and watch them actually start winning when it matters.

Tomlin inherited a fantastic Cowher defense and benefitted from having one of the best DCs of all-time in LeBeau. Once he had to make his own hires. They started to suffer. Arians was forced out. LeBeau was forced out. Tomlin? Ownership? Either way in that span after losing to Rodgers in the owl they lost to Tim Tebow, Joe Flacco, Blake Bortles, and Baker Mayfield. They almost lost to an Alex Smith led Chiefs in 2017.

The Steelers absolutely need to hire an offensive coach. They need to trade Watt, Heyward, and Ramsey. Let Highsmith go and suck for 2-3 years with Rudolph and Howard and hope they can land a franchise guy in 2028 or 2029. This should've happened in 2019 when Ben got hurt but Tomlin was greedy and wanted to protect his regular season streak
>>
Was Mike Tomlin the first ever DEI hire?
>>
>>152964054
always thought Cowher would go back to coaching but man broadcastign is so damn easy compared to it, if you dont love it and dont want to do it, I get why he never did

Prepare to be shit for a long time. Your owner is cheap.

Fritz Pollard was hired in 1921 to coach the Akron Pros.

He's a people person coach, he can talk with 4 people for 3 hours.
>>
>>152963606
stooleers do not deserve the level of success they have had for the past 40 years and they are going to experience hard times. hopefully the bucs get rid of todd bowels after another forgettable season and then we get tomlin for 2027

How do you feel about the Pirates?

I don't know if this is true but at this point it seems feasible enough I had to look it up

That's fine. The whole reason they're in this mess is they refused to accept that a total rebuild, and the one or two non-competitive years that come with it, has been necessary for a while now. The last fucking thing they should do is grab another bargain bin qb and try to make the playoffe so they can remain "competitive." It's over. Clean house

And no you fucking zoomers, I'm not talking about tanking. When you blow up your roster and dump salary the losses will come natutally enough. But you don't need to bottom out and you don't need the #1 pick. You just need to nail whatever picks you do get and sign the right free agents with your newly acquired cap space
>>
>>152963606
he was a good coach even with a low ceiling. was pretty much a fumble away from winning 2 owls and dealt with some real shit with dudes like AB and Ben and never threw players under the bus. i see why stoolers fans thought it was time to go but i think they were too hard on him. hall of famer for sure and weird that they all hated him while literally everyone else liked him

Rhoades was in GB when the Rooney Rule came into effect.

They really do deserve it though. Just a really well run organization.

>He's just a generation too old now, the players who he could be an older mentor friend to are now young enough to be his son.
This, his style of coaching works less the older he gets.
