Modern academy stuff is a bit ridiculous in many cases, but it's necessary for quality overall. Every club should have their own youth development system so they are as independent of transfers as possible. Players easily cost a ton of money nowadays, you want to be the one getting that money from other clubs, not the one spending it
But modern academy stuff is kind of cucked. They turn players into data to calculate with, and they make players very uniform - not only on the pitch, but also off the pitch. At least that happens too often. Depends on the exact strategy there, of course
Generally, European clubs should invest more into youth development. And they should get more rewards for fielding these players. Amateur football and coaching there also need as much investment as possible, it's important for their success as well, as everyone starts playing in small amateur clubs anyway
