Realistically, these are the only 4 teams that can win the World Cup this year. If I had to bet, I would pick Spain to win it all. Thoughts?
>>152990937>BrazilIf they're in, you can also include others. England have been undefeated and without a goal against them for ages now. You can say they can't win because they're England, but Brazil have never been less of a favorite than this yearFrance, Spain, and Argentina seem to be logical choices. Not entirely sure about Argentina, maybe they got too cocky and can't pass the torch to the next generation? France and Spain are logical choices because they seem to have the most squad depth. France is the shakier of the two because their ngubus are somewhat prone to sperging out internally and ruining the cohesion
>>152991241Forgot to add that Spain is the most boring choice imaginable, but yeah, there's no real argument against them being a (if not the) prime contender
>>152990937>3 mexican teams and an african team
>>152990937To me, it's either between ARG, ESP, FRA or between ARG, ESP, FRA, BRA, POR, ENGNext in line would be Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, Belgium, maybe Morocco. But these are too far away
It's very even this year IMO. The good teams all have their ups and downs.I think it'll be a coin flip between France and Spain.
>>152991241i can't take england seriously as a top 4 contender, 5th definitely

>>152991318that's a perennial ranking, not the current strength. If you want to use the Cola ranking to check the current strength, you can compare the values and ranks from last year to these of this year. Keep in mind that these may be warped by important local competitions (e.g. AFCON happening right now), the old position may be biased (so the points earned/lost don't represent the actual strength), and it's more difficult to gain points at the top.So, December 2024 had1) Argentina 1867.25: +6, -1 rank2) France 1859.78: +10, +1 rank3) Spain 1853.27: +24, +2 ranks4) England 1813.81: +20, -5) Brazil 1775.85: -15, -6) Portugal 1756.12: +4, -7) Netherlands 1747.55: +8, -8) Belgium 1740.62: -10, -9) Italy 1731.51: -29, -3 ranks (mostly due to the two losses against Norway)10) Germany 1703.79: +20, +1 rankBiggest riser in this list are Spain, England, and Germany.Biggest losers are Italy and Brazil.Note that the points of the NL quarterfinalists and especially Spain, France, Portugal, Germany are a little inflated because of the NL final tournament. For example Portugal won the NL tournament but remained relatively stable, which means the other games it did not as well.So yeah, I would in any case add England to OP's pic.
Don't underestimate England. Southgate is gone, Tuchel is a huge upgrade. Also, they have a very easy way to the final compared to France or Argentina.
>>152990937Portugal will win it. Fairly. Qataris aren’t involved anymore
>>152991241England is Ash, the main protagonist who despite all the hype tends to choke in the later stages of the Pokémon League.
