Somehow this tournament has become even more of a shambles than last year.

Three of the top 64 Tour Card holders (Raymond van Barneveld, Mickey Mansell and Ryan Meikle) have fucked it off altogether, with Barney preferring to do exhibitions at FC Twente for guaranteed earnings instead, Mansell appears to have split with his management team and skipped this as a result and Meikle is on his honeymoon.

Four of the new Tour Card intake (Adam Leek, Filip Bereza, Matthias Ehlers and rather surprisingly Jurjen van der Velde) have also declined to play, with Maximilian Czerwinski the only second year Tour Card holder not to be involved.

26 non-Tour Card holders are participating with just six of those being from the Overseas Affiliate Tours. Unsurprisingly given there's zero prize money for going out at the group stage, none of the Asian Tour, Australian or New Zealand players have bothered entering.

Imagine if the PDC and PDPA cared about players outside of a select clique.
