Why is there only one good soccer league?

What in tarnation happened to the Netherlands

Crazy how we should by all means be second despite the league being in a very sorry state with tons of wasted potential
>>
it follows the mmo model aka whales
>>
>>153194445
combine all uefa competitions now and greece is 5th
>>
Cyprus obliterating the per capita table.

It's the league with the greatest financial strength across the board. The Premier League has a revenue of 8 billion, and they can make central payments to clubs ranging from 130 million euros to 205 million euros. That's also surprisingly balanced. The clubs have rich owners with deep pockets, the international market is very profitable for these clubs. It's simply a balanced league with financial power all around, a lot of pull for both fans and the best players
For comparison, the Bundesliga has a revenue of 5.2 billion. That's actually crazy considering the league is less commercialized, has basically no international market strength because of Bayern always winning, and there being 18 clubs instead of 20 (and 306 games instead of 380). But you can see a massive gap in the TV money, for example: it is distributed much less evenly, and there is considerably less in total. Bayern gets like 100 million and the current last, Hamburg, gets 30 million. With a few exceptions, the clubs have no owners and are much more conservative when it comes to spending

Super league was an attempt to break the dominance of the Premier league. Few understand this.
>>
>>153195718
tbf it's how the rankings work now for some reason
>>
Kazakh bros... is it time we admitted we're Asian?
>>
>>153197378
yes but if we combine all the results for the other leagues then the other leagues win more points and the greek league still isn't 5th, they even lose a place
>>
>>153197306
They only had to allow relegation, and make some sort of athletic competition to qualify in the first season but they were too greedy
>>
EPL uber alles
>>
>>153197306
Yeah, that’s why 6/12 clubs involved were from England
>>
England should unironically be allocated 7 clubs next season.
Aston Villa would have brought way more to the competition than Kairat or Villarreal. Even bottom of the table Wolves would have made the top 24.
>>
>>153201153
that's still true. everybody would have gotten richer including english clubs.
>>
>>153194621
wrong its $$$$
>>
>>153194445
because league football is dead

The meta currently favours pacey mongs.

>Ajax is in full-on crisis banter era, financial mismanagement broke the club, last coach got fired halfway into the season because he is an inexperienced tactical retard, current interim is only there keeping the ship steady until next season
>Feyenoord is plagued by Van Persie being a green retard who makes questionable squad decisions and constant injuries affecting the squad
>PSV is just doing alright, but they are just very mediocre in Europe
>AZ is surprisingly reliable whenever they are in Europe, but at the same time also plagued by a fucking retard as coach who makes them drop too many points with cowardly playing
>Utrecht is Utrecht, they're often the Netherlands' laughing stock in Europe and just blunder
>Go Ahead Eagles is a small club in the Europa League but it still did well punching above their weight.

What's not often explicitly stated is that this is a gap every year, which is compounded as time goes on, like a giant growing snowball
My argument is that what we are seeing is not actually the ascension of the EPL so much as a global consolidation of institutional sports that happens to have the EPL at its epicenter. The EPL will be the last viable league in the world
No one cares anymore, it's soon going to become obvious that it's a shrinking pie globally rather than a growing one

I fully support calling it soccer at this point

It's the inevitable part of capitalism. The only reason multiple leagues survived so long was the pre-EU protectionist rules.

P2W won.
Oil/Gas money won.
Football lost.

You should've done it with the PAOK fans
