De Bruyne on a free was a smart acquisition and him and Højlund had instant chemistry on the pitch but then Kevin died in september and hasn't played since. Anguissa and Gilmour have been big misses for them too who've also been gone almost the entire season so far. Neres started linking up with Højlund pretty well around december before also getting injured and requiring surgery. So in short they got absolutely fucked with injuries this season. It's the same guys every time playing 90 mins every 3rd/4th day in a row, they look knackered. I don't know the exact state of their finances and whether they needed to balance the books or something but it seems odd that they got €75mill for Osimhen, €70mill for Kvara, €25 for Raspadori and have only spent for about 1/3 of that amount recently.
