>there's a pause in the match>organist starts playing musicInstant SOVL
>>153202425I like it but they need to retire some old standards like the Addams Family ditty. I don't think anyone under 40 is familiar with it. I like it when the organist plays between innings, not all ballparks do that
>take me out to the ballgame>played almost exclusively at ballgamesIt's completely redundant, everyone there has already been taken to a ballgame. It would make a lot more sense to have organists play this at other sporting events to attract/poach new fans, rather than preaching to the choir.
>>153202425I was PISSED when the Lakers no longer employed the organist. He still does Kings and Dodgers games but man he was a legend. That late 00s era Lakers with the organist was SOVL
Also shout out Knicks organist. That Knicks defense chant is legendary like the Lakers one
>>153203995I loved clapping along to that one despite not knowing the Addams Family for years, people don't have to know where it's from.
>>153207304The car wash one too
Chicago Stadium, where the Bulls and Blackhawks played until the mid 90s, had a loft for the organist. There was another NBA arena in the 80s/90s that had an organist and their organ register literally in the stands but I can't remember where it was. Might have been more than one NBA/NHL arena set up that way
>>153203995>I don't think anyone under 40 is familiar with itgood, fuck' em
>>153202425what about cotton eye joe?
>>153202425>game organ enjoyer
>>153203995The netflix show for zoomers doesn't use the song? That's heresy.
