Darnold is unironically playing at an elite level this season. He’s being elevated by an insane receiver corps and the best defense in the league, for sure, but he himself is making a difference too. If he wasn’t, they wouldn’t be in the super bowl. Because QB does matter.

Darnold didn't even have that great of a year. 4048yd 25TD 14INT 6 Fumbles Lost and a 99.1PR. It's "good" but considering he's throwing to JSN, has a top overall roster and defense, and a very high end receiving corps and he mostly faced very weak defenses all year, those stats are very pedestrian in context. This whole narrative that he's been "reborn" really reeks of bullshit to me. These same people probably thought Geno was also an entirely different QB after he had 1 good season under the Seahawks. The weird thing is Darnold played better last year and people are acting like he's been better this year just because he won a playoff game. That's because of his team, not him.

Darnold isn't shit but he's still the same guy. I have no clue how this narrative got eaten up by so many people.

Maybe start watching games instead of just looking at the numbers. Darnold has done a much better job this season at protecting the ball and not turning over as often. He's been playing with alot more confidence compared to last season. Vikings Darnold would have lost to the divisional round against the Rams.

Objectively false. Darnold turned the ball over 4 more times, had an identical badpass%, and fumbled 3 more times this year than he did on the Vikings. There's no possible interpretation where this statement is true. The actual reality is his team just did a much better job covering his blemishes this season.
