HOW THE FUCK IS HE IN THE SUPER BOWL
>>153205642QB doesn't really matter when the team has a good oline and defense
because the 9ers were just that bad
>>153205642he redeemed his white privilege card
>>15320564269.8% completion percentage, 8.9 yards per attempt, 4 TD, 0 INT, 122.4 passer rating in this year's playoffs. 0 fumbles lost.In other words, he's actually been good.
Qbs are starting to not matter nearly as much as the credit is given as long as they aren't replacement level shit. the rule coddling evens it out and more importantly the nfl understands the position less than ever and ncaa and prior development is leaving the nfl with shit to rifle through to start with
>>153205642good QBs don't exist anymore
Defense wins championships. Your QB can throw for 5 TDs but doesn't matter when the defense allows 6. The Rams learned that the hard way
The>le QB doesn’t matter!posters are “team game” copers who think this is finally their big moment after being proven wrong every season heretofore, ignore them.Darnold is unironically playing at an elite level this season. He’s being elevated by an insane receiver corps and the best defense in the league, for sure, but he himself is making a difference too. If he wasn’t, they wouldn’t be in the super bowl. Because QB does matter.
>>153211625>playing at an elite level>insane receiver corpsi mean they're good but damn
>>153205642Because he's on my team dummy.
Why didn't the Jets ever get him a better receiver than Robbie Anderson?
>>153211810>why did the notoriously retarded and hopeless organization everybody's given up on fumble another chance at successIt's a mystery anon.
>>153211655JSN is arguably best receiver in the league and his number 2 is Cooper Kupp, it’s definitely insane lol
>>153211655>>153211863it's crazy how many years all you had to do was pick Ohio State WRs and you would win the draft
He is having a good season, is that so hard to admit to everyone?
>>153214563I almost wonder if there's not some sort of cycle to all this.>draft WRs>good QBs become more valuable to throw to those WRs>O-line becomes more valuable>D-line becomes more valuable because of elite O-linesSo on so forth.
>>153205642because he's /elite/ like flacco
>>153205642damn good coaching.Darnold was never elite, but hes always been good enough, & they got a situation he can do fine in.
I wish my Jets would have drafted so he could be our quarterback. We really need a quarterback right now
We are going to look back and realize just how much of an anomaly the 2000s and 2010s were in terms of quality QB play.
>>153211625Nah all you need is a couple versatile receivers and a line to hold up it's little league baseball throws after that lol
>>153216787Just like our boomer parents said the same about the 80s-90s. Cope
Darnold didn't even have that great of a year. 4048yd 25TD 14INT 6 Fumbles Lost and a 99.1PR. It's "good" but considering he's throwing to JSN, has a top overall roster and defense, and a very high end receiving corps and he mostly faced very weak defenses all year, those stats are very pedestrian in context. This whole narrative that he's been "reborn" really reeks of bullshit to me. These same people probably thought Geno was also an entirely different QB after he had 1 good season under the Seahawks. The weird thing is Darnold played better last year and people are acting like he's been better this year just because he won a playoff game. That's because of his team, not him.Darnold isn't shit but he's still the same guy. I have no clue how this narrative got eaten up by so many people.
>>153217963Maybe start watching games instead of just looking at the numbers. Darnold has done a much better job this season at protecting the ball and not turning over as often. He's been playing with alot more confidence compared to last season. Vikings Darnold would have lost to the divisional round against the Rams.
>>153218018>Darnold has done a much better job this season at protecting the ball and not turning over as oftenObjectively false. Darnold turned the ball over 4 more times, had an identical badpass%, and fumbled 3 more times this year than he did on the Vikings. There's no possible interpretation where this statement is true. The actual reality is his team just did a much better job covering his blemishes this season.
