play clock at five…
>>
this type of shit never happens in soccer :/

Because you can’t have a play that winning or losing a match hinges on. You can only flip between winning and tying or losing and tying. There can be cases when it comes to an overarching table, but not a final by itself.

you're about to receive a gif of british men trying to make PKs
>>
This looks like a running play. I'll just assume it was.

That’s not *a* play, that’s three of them

We had that shit before it was taken from us

Yeah this should have been the easiest superbowl-winning set of downs ever
>>

They didn't get the memo from hockey that you're supposed to keep going and that resorting penalties is only for the regular season. So it was just an ultra defensive and cowardly 30 minutes waiting for the Mario Party minigame.

The Seahawks try to pass on a 2nd and goal down 4 points late in the 4th quarter instead of handing the ball to Marshawn Lynch
>>
>>153239261
awarded a penalty down 1-0 in final seconds of wc final, panenka into the goalkeeper's arms
>>
>>153239261
They took the high risk play with the game on the line instead of not only choosing the forego the safer play, but while having a dedicated specialist geared towards the safe play. Imagine instead of giving Ronaldo the penalty in a final, you instead have someone kick the ball backwards to try shooting from a further distance.

Champions League used to have the away goals rule, which was kinda like that but (((they))) took it away

It never really worked, as I recall. I think there was one, maybe two matches that had a result (I'm going off memory here, I haven't ACTUALLY looked this up), all the others were even more playing to Not Lose than normal extra time ever was.
It's one thing to say next goal the winner to your mates (or kids) at the end of a training session, quite another in a fully professional competitive match.

Statistically the pass was lower risk and higher chance of success than a run; in that case Wilson executed it poorly and Butler made a fantastic play (which I think the pleb "well why didn't they just run it!?" spouters undermine credit Butler should get for that play).

???
I said football terms.

who would do that? that's so unrealistic.

The most retarded cope. Lynch punches that in nine times out of ten. They just wanted to make Russ the hero and it cost them the Superbowl.
>>
>>153252823
Seahawks have to think about the clock. If Lynch doesn't get in then they're kinda screwed
>>

How was that not pass interference? He knocked his ass over right as he was about to catch it.

20 seconds is a decade

Because he didn’t cut off Lockett’s path to the ball, and he also played the ball himself.

Even if it was PI, no ref would have the gall to call that.

>Ball on 1

>Other QB is Tim Brody
You fucking run in this situation. If you don't score at least you burn some clock and force Pats to use their timeout(s).
And even if you score, Bradly still has around 23 sec + 2 timeouts to get to the FG range.
It was one of the most idiotic play-calls in a clutch moment.
>>
>>153256361
Not really

>>153257090
>>153258190
Not that simple
Seattle has 3 plays but if they run twice and don't get in they probably don't get play number 3
Especially since Belichick decided to not use his timeout
Passing here means they likely score now or an incompletion which lets them run twice on 3rd & 4th down
It's just a great play by the Patriots
>>
>>153239399
The offside guy wasn't part of the play, so it's fine right?
>>
>>153246496
The top 3 all involve New England.
