Thats where a Daly or Harvey jump in, with funding, switch engines, and fill the field. Prema (chevy) is rumored to field a single car, and if that gets more teams in the field, Im all for it.

well I assume GM wouldn't just have Penske run their charter car, and Honda have Gannasi run theirs. because that would effectively mean that Roger just gave himself another charter and gave one to Chip. McLaren also has 3 Chevy cars. Rahal has 3 Honda cars. I think unless GM and Honda want to have one-car factory teams, they are gonna partner with one of the 2 car teams to run their charters. and top of the list for Honda would be MSR, given the IMSA connection. suspension stiffness + air pressures + expected vs actual track temps + marble build up. Indy does get worked for a month before its race, unlike Phoenix and others who get the standard:

-qualifying
-warm up
-race

Theyre looking to test the line being formed sooner than later, so drivers are comfortable forming the racing line earlier come raceday, plus the hybrid system "messing" with the balance, and other variables that you already know.

None of those tracks have the consistent banking compared to Phoenix/Milwaukee/Nashville. They have the same issue in NASCAR, its a banking+tires+temps+whatever else, and once the tires fall off, laying down rubber, close off portions of the banking. The cars arent cup tanks to slap the wall and survive. The non Indy issue would be solved with a more practice time, laying rubber down, and having feeder series lay rubber down. That brings up cost though, soooo here is the sim lol

well yeah? lol have you ignored the tire talk? They couldnt adjust many variables on a spec car (besides adding the hybrid), so what do you mess with? Tires. What has advanced the most compared to the guys running in the 80s/90s? Tires. What do the tires do? They hit the track, but when they are hitting the track less, and using computers to say what to expect, versus laying down rubber, so you have these "feeling out" periods, rubbering in the racing lines, to build confidence to chase up. Why wont they chase up? Tire temps+degradation+RACING. . ETC.

The DW12s tub has seen some wicked crashes, but maybe they find a way to steal aero to give the driver cooling/vents, but keep the car wild having the vents close off when XYZ hit popped. (that would be a shitty thing to have go wrong mid race lol)

If they can put ego aside, and try to get with the drag racing guys, I bet they have some canopy data worth looking at (fire/g's/temps etc). For the cool suits, their trick could be making the cockpit cooler so the suits do less cooling.

I brought it up for the collaboration, because if youre going to change up the car to get cooler, add vents, direct air, whatever you do (besides add weight), they are sacrificing material in some place, some where. When doing that, I'd want to look at the short intense examples of known data, and have that as a reference when testing, setting a standard for a new car. Part of that collab would be knowing how hot their shell gets in those short stints, and work to make it as cool as possible without a suit for long stints, so when they introduce the suit, its not going to cook them to death, and all works.

tires hitting the road. if you have a RWD car vs a FWD youll enter, and exist the corner differently. What controls that? The throttle play, and tire placement before, tire placement during, throttle during, and throttle control on exit, all while sawing the wheel to maintain traction/tire placement.
