I know that martingaling is a touchy topic but it's the bees knees when you only incrementally beat the market. Let's say you win 70% of $1.50 NBA games; If you bet 2 games a day that's 0.1 units a day; But if you martingale that's 0.19 units if you martingale once. Alternatively if you win 90% of $1.20 bets that's 0.08 units per day if you don't martingale but 0.27 units a day if you do.
