A hiatus break to let you know how retarded the sport formerly known as /cfb/ has become
>>153514084Still middle america
>>153514084man....
>>153514084They did this purely so we could get Ball State vs Sac State
CFB is a fucking pyramid scheme. It's disgusting.
One thing i dont understand about college football is how the conferences are done. Like, Texas has a lot of programs, but only 2 are SEC. The rest are ACC, Big 12, even AAC, or PAC-12. How do you define that?
>>153514926The conferences are just schools that feeely associate with each other. There's some contractual bonds but no governing body that dictates who goes where
>>153514926it used to be geographical [of similar stature/size] but now it's just based on money
my hornets mentioned
>>153514084>fcs schools are joining the retarded fbs conference realignment College football is dead
>>153514926It wasn't always like that. College football used to be regional and soulful
>MAC ruined its geographyNow the SEC has the best geography.
>>153514084>The Virgin MichiganAll directional schools>The Chad OhioTwice as many schools as Michigan and none of them are directional
>>153516219But most of them are named after rust belt shitholes.
>>153515621Things to do in Kansas
>>153515621>Lincoln, Nebraska is eastern and Atlantic City is southernYeah, I can very much believe a southerner saying some nonsense like that.
>>153526230Lincoln, NE is north of Atlantic City, NJ; I don't know what is nonsensical about that.
>>153515621Morgantown is SEC countrylet them in
>>153515621Mizzou is midwest, why are they not in B1G?
>Transfer from Howard To JMU>try to get into Fraternity event without invite>sucker punch brother because he won't let you in>run away like a bitch >arrested and off the teamNever take HBCU transfers!
>>153523212I went to a Jayhawks game. It was boring. Best thing to do in that state is probably get BBQ in KC.
>>153526230Facts don’t care about your feelings.
>>153529811The B1G didn’t want them. It’s a shame the SEC did.
which team does coach primate give guidance to?
>>153516219the downside though is you have to be in Ohio
>>153532824what exactly did they expect
>>153515477It never should’ve broken up
MACbros we're going worldwide
Conferences are obsolete>muh rivalry gamesYou can still schedule them>muh conference moneyShop the viewership rights to the highest bidder. Get what you're worth. ND did this, why can't/shouldn't everyone else? With streaming this makes perfect sense since one service can buy up the rights to numerous teams and have them all available. No longer does it matter on the time slot, geographical location, or any other bullshit.>muh conference championship game100% pointless at this point because of the playoff. Just expand and add another week to the playoff.
>BREAKING: Georgia LBs Chris Cole and Darren Ikinnagbon arrested on charges of Reckless Driving and Speeding in Athens…Thank you based Jawja for giving me something to laugh about in the darkest part of the off-season. This is truly the meme that never stops memeing.
>>153542234Conferences are more than the sum of their parts.
>>153544474They mean nothing. They don't make sense geographically, 2-3 teams are propping up entire conferences (see the Big 10), they're always in flux so even history means nothing, and most conferences are HEAVILY unbalanced which only benefits the top teams when it comes to scheduling (see Ohio State).
>>153542234what a fully retarded opinion lol we are entering a new era where conferences replace the NCAA as the governing body of college football. Conferences have never been more important or powerful. Notre Dame is pretty much fucked right now because they are not going to be able to schedule good games moving forward because it doesn't make sense for anyone good to risk losing a game to them. They are diminishing their brand with this stubbornness.
>>153545995Wrong. The P4 conferences are all top-heavy as I said, 2-3 teams are propping up entire conferences. Sooner or later those teams will wonder why all the shitters are getting paid when they are generating the overwhelming majority of the revenue. At best, you'll end up with a three tier mega conference system. Tier-1 will be a conference of all the big money earners & best teams. Tier-2 will be the rest of, or most of, the remaining P4 teams. Tier-3 will all by the G5 teams and maybe the bottom dwellers of the P4.
>>153514084How to fix CFBTeams are grouped together by region, north, south, east and west then divided further by historical success for the first seasonAdd FA style regulation. worst teams in a division move down, best teams move upLet teams schedule 1 team out of their division and 2 teams out of their region. For the playoffs in the top division top 2 teams from each region play in an 8 team tournament for the nattyIn lower divisions in each region we use a Korean baseball step ladder tourney. #4 plays 3, winner plays 2 and the winner plays 1 in the final and the champion is promoted to the next division.
>>153546190lol you have such a poverty mentality holy shit. My university has billions of dollars and virtually unlimited money. We don't give a shit about football revenue unlike your trailer park university. Conferences are the defacto governing bodies and will be growing in terms of power, numbers, money, everything.
>>153546644>My universityYou own an entire university? No, of course not. You're latching on to whatever college you went to in an attempt to sound right and wealthy. Whatever college that is clearly has very lax academic standards because they let a 60 IQ retard like yourself in.
>>153546644basically every major state school does care about this outside of new england.
>>153546731regardless, you will make more money in a conference because you are safe from having a season upcoming like notre dame where they literally play no one and nobody but alum will be witching their games
>>153514084just us cornfed boyst.20 years ago
>>153515621When I think southeast I definitely think southern Ohio and eastern Nebraska.
>>153555909you have a 2nd graders understanding of geography, then
>>153557242That's still a better understanding than what the MAC or the Big Ten have, apparently.
