Other countries suffrr a big loss in sports and keep remembering it as a lesson, a tragedy or even romanticizing it
America just blames the person individually and go focus on other athletes. There isnt a big american defeat because they forgot about all their defeats

Losing in unamerican so any athlete that loses will be memoryholed in this country. To be american is to be a winner.

It makes america impossible to banter on the long run

>>153538835
We only lose at things we were never going to win anyways.

Yeah, we don't think about you.

Americans dont know about the loss at olympic basketball to the soviet union
Many dont remeber the loss against argentina, or they just blame the players and dont count as a nation loss
Same for that crazy serena loss in the us open against osaka. It is on her, even though she is super hyped by the whole country
>>

In my country no one knows who Soviet Union, Argentina, or Osaka are.

When china lost the tabke tennins world cup last year, there were ehadlines and the president was ousted
In france, bernard hinault losing the tour de france to an american in the 1980s was a big deal
America lost the wbc to japan and they just dont give a fuck
>>
>>153538917
there's a table tennis world cup? aren't the 400 olympic gold medals for that enough?
>>
>>153538917
No one cares about wbc here. On tv it was on FS1 which is some obscure channel barely anyone has, most people here didn't even know we played against japan.

We all have clinical depression there's no time to be sad about some international tournament we didn't even know was happening.

Only fans of the San Antonio Spurs remember that Olympics fondly.

The thing is, the sport we care about the most, by a huge fucking margin, is (NFL) football. And we have no competition except amongst ourstlves there. The best football teams and players, amlost by definition, are american.

Everything else is just gravy, and we're not the kings of every sport but we're always good at something so no need to panic about any one thing. It all comes around eventually. So we didn't win gold in the me'ns solo free skate or whatever. No big deal.

The only major sport we've never been good at at any point is men's soccer and even then it's mostly because we just don't give a fuck so it's not something we feel self-conscious abiut.

We don't want to banter with turdies.

We own you.
>>

That makes sense.
So all the world needs is a good nfl league in japan to humble america
