So Ami is one thing, with the medal podium is at stake. But can someone explain why the kazakh got scammed? She had one of the most entertaining routines overall and certainly in the shorts and got ranked 12 there, she then did a completely different style (short being stuttered dance like footwork, and her free being a more gliding fast routine) in the free that seemed on par and was scored below Amber. And though my eye is untrained they both seemed to be executed cleanly too going by the green/yellow/red scoreboard. So why? Are her jumps just way easier or something? The bigger problem is that by missing that specific jump she ended up with two solo triple flips in her program, and repeating jumps is not allowed. The second flip is scored as 3F +REP which is scored at only 70% of the jump's base value. Add to that that the jump itself got bad GOE for obvious reasons and it was one of the second half jumps that gets a 10% bonus and that's at least 2-3 points lost on its own. That's literally the entire margin of victory. Even if she had simply done a 2T instead of a 3T but completed the combo she almost definitely wins.
