Is it really true the reason USA is shit at soccer is because all their best athletes go to other sports?

>>153575259i don't think so. feel like most everyone plays soccer as a kid, but the real issue is that if you're actually really good at soccer at a young age, the best kids play in teams that are super expensive to join which i think is a big turnoff for a lot of families. there's not really an academy system like in europe or whatever. i think that is slowly changing mostly cause we are sending kids abroad, but i think the MLS academies are improving too so maybe our talent will get better in the coming years
