Is it really true the reason USA is shit at soccer is because all their best athletes go to other sports?
>>
I checked wikipedia and this guy is about 210cm/7 feet tall. No wonder he switched nigga hit that height when he was like 13
>>

In Germany it's the other way around and wosh, we're Euros Champions, World Champions without even trying. If it were in football just so easy
>>
>>153575259
ape hoop was invented for a reason
>>
>>153575259

Yes, we have 4 team sports more popular than Soccer and they all can make you a multi millionaire.
>>
This guy isnt american, hes british
>>153575415
We have a once in a century golden generation. Germany isnt some basketball powerhouse that dominates all the time. The stars aligned for us and it may be over much sooner than we think
>>
>>153575259
i don't think so. feel like most everyone plays soccer as a kid, but the real issue is that if you're actually really good at soccer at a young age, the best kids play in teams that are super expensive to join which i think is a big turnoff for a lot of families. there's not really an academy system like in europe or whatever. i think that is slowly changing mostly cause we are sending kids abroad, but i think the MLS academies are improving too so maybe our talent will get better in the coming years
>>
>>153575259
It also has a general reputation of being a girls’ sport and a sport for kids who have helicopter parents (contact bad! soccer safe!) so the men who play it are perceived to be soft.
>>
>>153575259
Yeah, kind of. Our athletes who would be good at soccer still try to make it in baseball/basketball/handegg despite not being physically equipped for it, because they've been playing it (or some version of it) since they were eight.
>>
>>153575259
guys above 6'5 are not athletic it's scientifically proven. That's why only basketball has them
>>
There are a huge number of nba and nfl players that never played the sport before college and they made it to the professional league.
This never happens in more international sports like soccer or hockey.
NBA = just be tall
NFL = just be fat
>>
>>153575616
manlet cope has arrived
>>
>>153575259
with that height he would be too slow at soccer or most other sports
>>
>>153575259
There's basically no overlap between sawker and bball talent pool, but in handegg there definitely is
>>
>>153575746
…you do realize that all the Olympic class sprinters are 6’4” and up yes
>>
>>153575746
The fastest man in the world is 6’5”. Is soccer just the manlet cope sport? No wonder poor turd worldies like it so much.
>>
>>153575923
Football is about skill.
Nba nfl is about black worship.

yes. Kobe was a soccer player when he was a kid (and I heard he was a ballhog then too lol)
>>
>>153575883
Are you stupid?
>>
>>153575259
No, they are 350 millions of them and football baseball and basketball need different body types/skills
>>
>>153575923
Soccer players look more like middle distance runners , not sprinters.
>>
>>153575923
Footballers run much more per game than basketball players, now imagine a guy who's 2.10 meters tall trying to run with the ball at his feet without getting tangled up and going in for tackles, they'd get injured in the first month
>>
>>153579644
You mean like Haaland, zlatan, countless others?
>>
>>153579709
Both Haaland and Zlatan are 195 cm. There's a reason the tallest football players (at an elite level) cap out at around 202 cm, including goalies where height is an advantage.

The only known 210 cm tall professional football player in history was a goalie who did 50 games in the Danish third division.
>>
>>153578255
That isn't remotely true, the game has been moving away from that for awhile now. Every player on the outside is now just brought in for their speed instead of skill. Players 10-15 years ago were much better technically. In fact soccer is the only sport I can think of that is going backwards technically.
>>
>>153578255
Is that why divegrass careers are shorter than golf or darts?
