when the Columbus Blue Jackets were first newly created in 2000 as a fresh NHL franchise
they surely would've loved to have Dave Ellett on their team for the 2000-01 season, because of his connections to the Ohio area.
Ellett would've also given the Blue Jackets another veteran defenseman (after Lyle Odelein and Frantisek Kucera) to mentor Rostislav Klesla and teach him how to play the NHL game.
Ellett should've retired a Columbus Blue Jacket instead of ending his NHL career with the St. Louis Blues.

Columbus would've loved to have this Ellett guy on their newly created NHL team. He'd probably do a better job putting over Rostislav Klesla as the future star defenseman.
>>
Ellett was a great offensive-minded D-man for the Winnipeg Jets back in his prime heyday.
