Signature event this weekend at Riviera. Many consider this among the greatest courses in the world, tho I think it's overrated. Leaderboard is condensed and stacked with fuckhuge names.And Scheffler needed an 8 footer on 18 today JUST to make the cut. I hate to ask, but Scottie bros...is our GOAT washed?

72 players in field and 51 made cut. Tiger made 142 straight cuts and never had some baby field bs like this. Scottie is good but he's nowhere near Prime Tiger.
>>153579855I think Scottie's ability to find his way around the top of leaderboards is Tiger-esque, but his game is nowhere near anything we saw from Tiger at the same age. Tiger was the longest driver, by far the best iron player, one of the best putters, and had the best short game in the world in his prime. If any one part of his game was off it didn't matter cuz he was so good at everything else. Hence the 142 in a row (a record that I doubt will ever be broken).
Any yuros have any insight on this Marco Penge guy? First time watching him today and he hits the ball a country mile. His irons were dialed too. Streaky kinda dude or legit blooming star?
Statistically there were a handful of dudes who were better putters than prime Tiger, but I don't think even they believed it. If a putt had to be made, Tiger always made it. It's why Rory, Spieth, Scottie, and whoever else will always come up short of reviving that magic. Tiger wasn't just good, he was magnitudes better when the tournament was on the line. Scottie's chip in with Bobby Mac last year is the closest any one has come to Tiger. It was such a kick in the nuts to MacIntyre he was defeated right then. Like DiMarco after Tiger's chip in.
