Equipment violations: There are many ways to get a penalty for an equipment violation, including improper storage of racing skins during a race. Any part of an athlete's ski skins protruding through their race suit or backpack is a 10-second penalty in the sprint and relay races. Other types of equipment violations include:

Missing equipment or equipment in violation of the rules (one-minute penalty)
Skis, bindings or boots not in compliance with the rules (disqualification)
Missing Avalanche Victim Detector (DVA), DVA without batteries, helmet incorrectly worn or ski brakes (disqualification)
DVA out of order at the finish line (one-minute penalty)
Crampon(s) missing in the foot part with crampons (disqualification)
Incorrectly fastening skis on the backpack (10-second penalty)
Walking without crampons on required sections (disqualification; one-minute penalty if crampons are broken)
Ski poles not flat on the ground in the transition area (10-second penalty)
Crampons without straps clipped on the ankles (one-minute penalty)
Crampons outside the backpack (one-minute penalty)

whys france have a yellow card
>>
this is millions times better than the sprint
>>
not allowed to have the skins sticking out of your pouch apparently
can't imagine the penalty for such a serious infraction
>>
Behavior Offenses: There are many different penalties classified as behavioral offenses, including:

False start (one-minute penalty)
Missing checkpoint (disqualification)
Missing a gate on a descent section (one-minute penalty)
Disregarding an official's instructions on the track (one-minute penalty)
Pushing, shoving or making an athlete fall (disqualification unless involuntary; in that case, only a 15-second penalty)
Not assisting a person in distress or danger (one-minute penalty)
Receiving illegal outside help (one-minute penalty)
Disrespecting the environment (one-minute penalty)
Disrespecting or insulting anyone participating in the event (disqualification and further disciplinary review by ISMF)
Incorrect maneuver into the transition area (10-second penalty)

There are three additional possible penalties during relay races:

Incorrect relay handover (defined in the rules) is a one-minute penalty
The same athlete racing two legs is a disqualification
Pushing outside the handover zone is a one-minute penalty
>>

>29.4.5. Transition area
A – Athletes must pass through all the transition areas or check points present on the race track.
B - Transition area is marked by an entry and an exit line, preferably in blue paint. Lines are considered part of
the transition area. If another type of limit is used, it must be defined at the TCM.
C - The flags used to mark the transition area will be of the colour of the next section (e.g., yellow if it is before a
foot part, red if it is before a descent, etc.).
D – Athletes must carry out all transition manipulations required inside the transition area. Only removal or
attachment of pole connections and engagement of the rear part of the binding can be done outside of the
transition area.
E – The entry and exit lines are inside the transition area. The athlete must stay inside the transition area while
he/she is doing a transition manipulation. It is a penalty if a ski on the ground and attached to the boots crosses
the line or any part of the athlete touches the snow at any location outside of the transition area.
F - Prior to starting transition manipulations, ski poles must be placed on the ground, next to the athlete. The
athlete can start his/her transition manipulation when his/her hands are free of poles. It is not allowed throw the
poles before stopping. The ski poles may not be picked up while the athlete is performing the transition
manipulations until the end of the manipulation. The athlete must pick up the ski poles before leaving the
transition area. The athlete can move the poles during the manipulations to bring them closer.
>>
>+0:03
LMAO
what is even the point of changin in the proper place then? just do it 300m later so you get more descent time
>>
so this wasn't paralympics yet?
>>
>>153584620
This applies to when the athlete takes off/puts on skins or crampons, packs/unpacks skins or crampons, unfastens/fastens skis
to the backpack.
G - The athlete must remain in the same place from the beginning to the end of the transition manipulations
procedures. However, standard movements necessary to carry out the manipulation are allowed.
H - The athlete must pick up both poles at the end of the transition manipulation. If, unfortunately, another athlete
interferes with his/her pole(s), or if one/both pole(s) is/are broken, the athlete can continue without one/both
pole(s).
I – Special situation: If an athlete encounters a problem with their equipment (unclipped toe piece, unlocked boot,
etc.) the athlete can correct the deficiency. If any part of the athlete’s skis is within a transition area, poles must
be placed on the ground before correcting the deficiency. If the athlete’s skis are completely outside of transition
area, the deficiency can be corrected without placing poles on the ground.

Initial Spain penalty was "A3: Minor technical error, involuntary negligence" 3 seconds.

USA is challenging the penalty.

I think even with stacking there isn't enough time. All the equipment ones are 3 seconds in relay. The biggest one is wrong locomotion which is 30 seconds.

So robbed because all the Relay penalties are massively reduced.

Results stand.

I'm not saying it's super complex, my two main issues is that you're unironically judged on "style" while jumping and also muh perfect landing. Who gives a fucking shit, just make it so it counts if you land on both feet and your body doesn't touch the ground or you crash.
Also the compensation is also apparently decided at will, as well as the start times regarding conditions, which was seen recently.

Thanks. Found it >>153584494.
Looked a bit odd live but didn't register that the line was the end of the transition zone.
In a normal sport that's a disqualification. At the very least a bigger penalty than having your wraps sticking out of your pouch.

You're just desperate for an 11th place finish

I don't mind the landing bit and encouraging the jumpers to do a clean perormance. It's also largely a safety issue: taking away judging would mean that the jumpers would have to take massive risks to be able to compete.

I have called my friends in Lausanne, the entire committee stepped down and put you in charge anon.

Because we don't play curling at all, it costs a fortune and you can't play in your backyard with your buddies.

It's a sport by definition.
