Hockey is just not a practical sport to play. Even in Canada it's like 3rd in participation despite being the actual most popular sport here

Hockey is for middle class+ families. Most don't have the luxury of getting into it. Takes classes and time to learn how to skate. Where most sports you just rush. You think all those brown children in school are going to be play hockey? Nope. Soccer. They don't even have to buy skates or all those pads.

Just build a bunch of ice rings all over cities where it rarely snows and come up with even more finances to maintain those rinks bro. Also have buy a bunch of expensive gear for the young players so they can play. EZ PZ
