>>
>>153711425
Turdki posted a tweet about it a month back saying he wanted it. Funnily enough Rico’s team asked Dave Allen for a fight a few weeks ago and be accepted it. Partly desperation from Usyk that he can’t get a fight that isn’t just a mandatory. I don’t think he ever fights Kabayel.
>>
>>153709132
Wait it's an actual title fight? Does Turki think being so blatantly corrupt by gifting Rico a title shot will bring more sales than just making it exhibition? He probably does.

Honestly I blame Fury more than anyone for these current ridiculous crossover fights. Turki saw Ngannou whoop his ass in that fight and nearly beat him and thought that was the standard and not an outlier because Fury treated the fight like a joke and didnt train. now we are stuck with this retard making complete mismatch crossover fights that he thinks anyone will care to watch. even if usyk didnt want to fight his mando or wardley, why not make a fight like him against someone with a well known name at heavyweight like Hrgovic or Zhang? a fucking gassiev rematch would have more interest in it than this slop kek

>>
>>153714907
Fury vs Ngubi actually kind of made sense though, he called him into the ring after the Whyte fight and they both called for it to happen. I think they were even discussing it before the Whyte fight. Also just from a stylistic and aesthetic standpoint it made sense, the slick boxer-puncher vs the massive puncher. It really was kind of a gift from Fury since Ngubi left the UFC and couldn’t get a fight.

There’s zero reason for this Rico fight to take place since he doesn’t have a massive profile, isn’t a massive puncher and Usyk still has multiple mandatories he could take. Clearly Usyk feels he is above the fans now and is just at the meme stage of his career which is disappointing especially given his low activity.
>>
>>153715089
floyd vs mcgregor was a glorified exhibition bout and floyd was retired for years at that point so it didnt matter, there were no world/lineal title implications or shit like that so it didnt really matter. fury ngannou set a new precedent since fury was the reigning lineal champ in his prime fighting an mmgay jobber instead of unifying. the only saving grace is that the wbc didnt sanction it, but now not only is usyk the lineal champ this actually IS being sanctioned for the belts. its a joke.
>>153716005
lol how did the fury ngubu fight make any sense? ngannou had zero professional experience in an actual boxing, he hadnt even fought in mma in like a year or 2 prior to the fight so he was also inactive. fury had the perfect opportunity to call out usyk for a unification fight and instead he pivoted to a fucking mma fighter, it was some of the worst matchmaking ive ever seen, only thing that comes close is this usyk fight, only thing that stops this from being even worse is that people arent really clamouring for a wardley usyk unification like they were with fury usyk
>>
>>153716109
in an actual boxing ring*
>>
I forgot Paramount are trying to close a deal with Netflix. That would make sense for Zuffa.
>>
>>153716109
I’m not saying it was a good thing but Ngubi had a huge profile and at least there was some build up and you know Fury can sell any fight with anyone. Usyk can barely speak English at best and although has a country bumpkin charm isn’t really noted for selling fights, Rico idk how many PPV’s he’s sold but he seems like a bit of a wannabe influencer and doesn’t exactly capture the imagination of the public.
>>
>>153716109
Fury isn’t actually a Gypsy and is descended from an Irish race of Nephilim Giants called the Fomorians. I will deliver more research on this to you once I have concluded my findings.
>>
>>153716288
The Usyk Rico fight is going to bomb PPV wise. Boxing fans won't tune in and afaik Rico isn't a big name for UFC fans. This is nowhere near the levels of Fury Ngannou or Mayweather McGregor.

Watching Rico Verhooven fights. The guy is absolute dog shit.

Kickboxers tend to be pretty sloppy because they are fighting off balanced due to the use of their legs. The guy I think who could have transitioned and figured it out was Bader Hari. Guy had one punch knockout power. Rico is also well past his prime. If he needed a money grab just get a retirement tournament with him, Bader Hari, Alistair Overeems and whoever else you wanna throw in to sell the card. That era of kickboxing will never be replicated again sadly

Im a pro who boxed at wildcard back in the day lighter division than Frankie Gomez. He was a brilliant gifted fighter who handed everyone their ass in the glory days of wildcard when Pacquiao Benavidez Beltran Martirosyan cotto Malignaggi khan countless others all sparred there Frankie beat them all up. Truly gifted. He was on his way to immense fame and fortune then one day just stopped coming to the gym, stopped calling golden boy back and just gave it all up to work at a lube shop and change oil for a living. Tank Davis, Haney, Lopez Garcia he would have spanked them all. You’d think he’d just stay with it because he was so close and financially care for his mom family everyone important to him also because he spent his whole childhood with boxing but he just threw it all away to gain 100 pounds and change oil and tires in a hot shop. He threw it all away so sad. Pains my heart.

Looks like we're gonna get Rolly vs Haney after all. Who do you guys have winning? I think this is honestly a tougher and better win for Haney than Norman (partly in retrospect) because Rolly is more experienced professionally. I think Rolly's rough style is cancer to boxers like Haney, but Rolly himself is limited and can be outboxed. Good fight and good win for either guy, and only setups up and hypes up a fight against Ryan. Boxing is looking quite exciting with his mini storyline unfolding before our eyes
>>
>>153721077
If Rolly beats Haney, he beat the man that basically briefly ruined Ryan's career fair and square, and Ryan will have to face the man who put the final nail in the coffin last time; if Haney wins, he beats the man who brought Ryan to his breaking point and forced him to bend for the very first time in his career, showing he truly is a better fighter than Ryan and allowing him to prove that Ryan only got the best of him because of PED. I haven't been this excited for a string of fights since... I can't remember. This is the only good "marinade" fight I enjoy.

Does Ryan get a stay busy fight or can he fight a guy that can generate hype for Rolly/Haney vs Ryan 2 too?
>>
>>153721077

There was some sparring footage and rolly was actually giving haney some problems. Rolly is a pain for a pure boxer, he is extremely athletic and wild/unorthodox. He had zero respect for haneys power and was just clubbing him when they tied up. Obviously the smart money is still haney by UD.
>>
>>153721177
That's exactly why I respect rolly more than the average boxing viewer lol. I know it's just sparring, but the disrespect he shows for guy's power gets him far, especially against guys who aren't strong (Shakur, Haney, etc.). That's why I think he gives Kur trouble lol

Rolly has changed his style since then. He fought more careful against Ryan, but I wonder if he'll do the same against Haney at 147, who has shown to have knockdown power (lol) if you don't respect him. I also wonder how Haney has evolved since preparing and fighting Lomachenko, and surviving 12 rounds and 4 knockdowns against Ryan, and coming back after a humiliating performance against Ramirez with determination. I'm quite excited for the future

People will try to come to get you to return and tell you how great you are, but you're just over it. Part of me regrets it but I know I made the right decision for me long term. I think it's probably more accurate to just say that everyone hates you. Family, random strangers on the internet, school children, etc.

But to get back on topic, Fury is a Gypsy bum who got his arse handed to him, twice by a middleweight who beat him around the ring, and once by a near 2 year inactive heemlet.

They could still be coming off a win if Ryan is fed a safe name at 147. I just don't know who that is. Both guys beating known names was perfect, but Rolly vs Haney still hypes up a fight against Ryan, even if Ryan fights joe schmo at 147

What an insane P4P list. Putting Inoue as #1 is fucking hilarious, seeing that he has faced absolutely nobody even half of the worth that Usyk has faced. How is Crawford still ranked when he's retired. Why is Shakur #3? Dumbest fucking list I've ever seen.

3. Beterbiev
4. Inoue
5. Bam

>>153741461
I was gonna do this on boxrec, but they don't even have Bivol or Beter. Id probably go:

1. Usyk
2. Bivol
3. Inoue
4. Bam (idk much about him, but people swear he's fantastic)
5. Benavides
>>
>>153741489
Difference imo between Bam and Benavidez is that Bam has the potential to become P4P top 3, whereas Benavidez likely won't.

>>
>>153741526
I've seen some of Bam's fights, and he reminds me of Inoue in the sense that he seems like a meteor against dinosaurs. Like he's a fish too big for his pond. I don't know if he and Inoue are too small for other ponds, but I do know he seems more well rounded than David, and David actually seems like he's finally in a pond he should be in (where he might be a little too small)

Because he's small and not as flashy as Inoue imo, Bam won't get to top 3 p4p until Usyk has left too. Maybe until Inoue loses or gets dropped again
>>
>>153740943
Makes 100% sense, you can't have a world champion representing your franchise if he went somewhere else and got blown the fuck out, losing their starpower.

>>
>>153741579
Bam has great fundamentals. Benavidez still falls off balance, has poor defense, and resorts to a burst of arm punches to get out of trouble. He also got hurt multiple times against Morrell. He got away with weight bullying but like you said now he's in a bigger weight class, I feel he's going to get cracked. Maybe that will force him to correct his mistakes and get better who knows
>>
>>153741631
Benavidez calling out old man Beterbiev only now is a bit of a shitty move. I have a strong feeling he stayed at 168 for a long time not just to weight bully but to avoid Bivol/Beterbiev.
>>
>>153741631
I think Benavides is too far along to change anything now, not until he actually gets punished for fighting like this, and even then it's too deeply ingrained in him. He should avoid Bivol and Beter for his sake. And Jai, oh my god
>>

I dont think he will be able to return to 175 after the zurdo fight, regardless of the outcome, even if he were to get btfo by zurdo the current cw isnt exactly a super dangerous div now more than ever with opetaia fucking off to zufa , so he could always demand a rematch or just simple try to grab another cw belt

The current black boxers don't have the power in their punches like the old school black boxers did. Their style is more similar to the Japanese than the old school blacks. Shu shu, for example, tries to fight like the old school, but he punches like a Japanese, and he's not really a good inside boxer; same with Haney, Shakur, Roach and Moton. These guys are waiting to get exposed like the Haney-Ryan and Ward-Kovalev fights. Out of the current black boxers, Foster has the most power and is the most similar to kino old school black boxing, but his defense is lacking in my opinion.

You could say Holmes' style suffered more from aging, while Liston was known for just clubbing guys down. He'd just completely dominated Floyd Patterson, twice, in the first round of each fight. In the opposite manner, Holmes had just already been getting outmoved and outboxed by Michael Spinks. Though, I do think Holmes actually won that rematch, but then, when he started getting the better of Spinks towards the end, but couldn't finish him off, that was still a sign of him having diminished.

Usyk has beaten AJ twice, Fury twice, Dubois twice, and became Undisputed at heavyweight twice. Feary was looking for clown shows while avoiding everyone, and the moment he did have to prove himself, he got bashed around the ring. Hell he got bashed even in the clown show fight he took instead, and boxing needed AJ to come and flatline the heemlet. Now the best he can do is finally fighting a crippled version of AJ.

Groovy, thank you kindly. I was thinking about picking up one of the eldar kill team boxes after I'm done with the kommandos and legionaries.

This ref is something else, 3 point deductions for Glanton and none for Jai for all the holding. Jai gets just warnings for pushing down on Glanton's head, and at least 2 knockdowns for Glanton that were called no knockdown. Hope the mickey mouse belt is worth it Jai, good luck getting any fights from any sanctioning body ever again. Looks forward to the west australia club basements for the next decade.

Not the best first Zuffa impression for Jai desu. Easily one of his most boring fights and no classic knockout where he almost kills somebody.

Glanton definitely not a guy you pick to lose a fight by KO or stoppage. Jai did a good job showing his all around complete game. Maybe with one roundd more he could chase a finish as Glantom was starting to show cracks but Glantom is too tough.

Jai is pretty good though. I must've forgot lol. He probably does belong in the top 10 since he's so versatile, but it's hard to see how he'll deal with adversity when he's fighting guys like Glanton (keep in mind I haven't seen much of his fights, and I barely remember them). I wish cruiser was richer in quality fighters. I don't know if Jai is HW ready, but he seems skilled enough to stay out of trouble like Usyk. Would love to see him at HW
>>
>>153796110
Opetaia has had issues securing big fights, only big name he fought was Briedis and that was kind of an old Briedis
I'd love to see him vs the winner of Zurdo vs Benavidez
>>
>>153796215
>winner of Zurdo vs Benavidez
That would be great. I kinda believe the "jai is being ducked" cope I hear around. He didn't stop Glanton, and Glanton wasn't exactly fantastic last night, but he showed he can fight at any range and have good defense, along with countering if need be. David doesn't have that flexibility, and I don't remember if Zurdo is as flexible too
>>
I hope Tank goes full retard and tries to fight with Cruz and gets dropped
>>
>>153796215
An old Briedis that still broke his jaw, then an even older Briedis. And now.... Glanton.Right now he's probably closer to being stripped than unifying. He's fucked up. His best bet will probably be becoming the face of the shitty Zuffa's heavyweight division as well.

Not that interesting, Usyk made him quit twice. I also doubt Dubois is getting past Wardley. If Wardley wins he should get the shot against Usyk. Usyk probably gonna go for Wilder or Fury trilogy though
>>
>>153797221
Cruz landed some bombs in their first fight but Tank took them, as much as I dislike Tank, he does seem to have a solid chin
>>
>>153798804

>>
>>153798842
It's been a while since I've seen it, but I did see some highlights. I don't remember cruz landing anything flush or serious. Tank's chin is probably average or above average because he was only getting rocked by Roach's clean counters
>>
It's crazy to think we won't get one of the best fights at 135/140 because the fighters can't seem to fight without bad blood. Shakur vs Keyshawn is a very interesting fight with two of the most brilliant and well rounded fighters p4p, yet we will never see it (until we get some drama between them). That sparks a question in me: what's your guy's top 5 smartest boxers p4p list? I got:

1. Usyk/Shakur
2. Usyk/Shakur/Bivol
3. Shakur/Bivol (the top three is really tough)
4. Inoue (very smart aggressively, but I don't like how he was dropped for the same flaw almost back to back)
5. Bam (again, I don't know much about him, and he probably should higher, but I know he's smarter than Keyshawn.

HM:
Fury
Keyshawn
Torrez (seems smart, but not proven enough. Also failed to adapt against Guido to get him out)
Itauma (same as Torrez, but most of his stoppages come from rabbit punches)
Jai
Beterbiev
Haney (when it comes to making a gameplan before the fight)

I give Shakur and his team credit for figuring out Teofimo. But his impressive performance against Teo doesn't put him in same league as Usyk, Bivol, and Inoue with respect to ring IQ.

My reason is that the latter fighters faced adversity and made adjustments. Shakur hasn't been pushed to his limits yet. Plus his previous fights aren't very impressive e.g. he stayed on the ropes against Zepeda, performed like shit with De Los Santos, and spent 9 rounds to take out an electrician.

Still I'm not doubting Shakur is smart and clearly is a student of the game, but for my money he needs to prove more if he wants to be in same category as Usyk, Bivol, Inoue.
>>
desu i miss wilder... well moreso the aura from his peak. feel like we dont have any good knockout artists atm
>>
>>153802385
I have Shakur that high up because, despite not proving his brilliance on paper to be on par with Usyk or Inoue, I believe he does have a fight IQ that rivals them. It's kinda like how Bud technically only has 3 examples of p4p excellence, but you just know be beats most if not all guys at 147-154

I think Shakur's inability to get Padley out has to do with his poor power and ignorance on how to use his skills in a way to generate knockouts.

To your point, his game plan to run away from Santos may imply he isn't smart enough to safely avoid hard hitters at a range beneficial to him, much like Usyk and Bivol. Maybe it should be:

1. Usyk/Bivol
2. Usyk/Bivol
3. Shakur
>>

>>
>>153803224
It's a shame that Bud didn't face more and better opposition than Spence and Canelo, but I agree he seems unbeatable. In any case, Shakur should not follow in Bud's footsteps with match making. He should fight the best, not chase clown fights.
>>
>>153803558
Ive said this a million times, but I hope he eventually stops calling out these guys who are obviously at a style disadvantage. It's not that impressive if he 12-0s Teofimo when Teo historically struggles against boxers who can move

Haney is actually a very accurate puncher. If he had actual power, he may have won a few more rounds against Loma with those body shots and cemented a victory against him. He might've also put a pause to Ryan's aggressive in their fight and got a draw, and maybe stop Norman
>>
>>153812601
Haney is too scared to commit. Maybe not scared but he doesn't want to take any risks. Just like Shakur. That's why they have trouble getting rid of people.

They need to learn how to press people. I'm not suggesting they go full retard like Zoo or Kambosos, rather they should learn from Crawford.

It's looking like we're getting Ryan Haney 2 in September, but nothing official at all. It sucks because the fight on July 4 would have been great, but getting that right after Haney Rolly (assuming Haney wins, but no reason the fight shouldn't happen on the same day but with Rolly, right?) is really good hype and promotion fuel
>>
Shakur recently said he'd fight Ryan under a rehydration clause. Was Bud fantastic for jumping up to 168 and fighting Canelo at his current physical best, or was Bud just a 168lber squatting at 147? I can't believe Shakur would need a rehydration clause to beat Ryan. He has the skills to completely shut down every he has
