Missed this yesterday due to the downtime: Ryan Searle, a man with a debilitating eye condition, didn't bother asking the ref what he had left after a T19 and S12 on 119 and went straight for D13. Dummy.

Also, Blubber (who lost to Searle) going on about not wanting help in his Friday post-match interview: https://twitter.com/Oche180/status/2030206835379098094

>"Nathan [Aspinall] knows how stubborn I am. I do everything myself.

>"I don't want to go and speak to a mental person or whatever it is. In the back of my mind, I know they wouldn't do it - if I won something coming back they're going, I helped him win that'.

>"I don't want anyone to have credit for what I'm doing."

This is why you will remain irrelevant, Blubber.

Good afternoon lads, finally time for two unbothered sessions of arrers, erm, I mean of Littlerwinslol. Would love for Wadey, Gezzy or Noppie to trip up the smug fuck, but we all know it ain't happening, no matter how close others have been in earlier rounds.

>Lowest ranked player to reach the UK Open quarter-finals (last eight years)

2019 Simon Stevenson #68
2020 Jelle Klaasen #49
2021 Luke Humphries #41
2022 Sebastian Bialecki NR
2023 Richie Burnett #78
2024 Ricky Evans #46
2025 Gian van Veen #27
2026 Krzysztof Ratajski #27

The last two years is a bit concerning. Had Ratajski not won, the lowest ranked player remaining would have been Cross at 20th. Seems very difficult for anyone outside the top names to make big breakthroughs.
>>
>>153782497
>The last two years is a bit concerning
You think so? For me, that is actually fine, because as long as the top players prevail without protection by seeding, I'm okay with it. Of course I'd also like to see fresh faces, but if they can't do it, that's fine. Only thing that annoys me that top players have become so used to getting easy runs due to seeded brackets that some of them started to whine about having to enter the worlds first round. That was beyond ridiculous to me, imagine crying because you got your yearly free bye taken from you, instead of recognizing you never should have had it in first place.
>>

I get what you're saying, but it massively dulls the "magic" of the UK Open. We're not going to get the likes of Aden Kirk, Barry Lynn or Paul Hogan again. Even the UK Snowpen with Part, Pallett, Steve West & Rob Owen making the quarters.

Yeah, a lot of the seeds got big shocks. Smudger, De Decker, Edhouse: all TV major winners binned by International Qualifiers.

>Yeah, a lot of the seeds got big shocks. Smudger, De Decker, Edhouse: all TV major winners binned by International Qualifiers.
Yeah, and except maybe Smudger, it wasn't even much of a surprise, since de Decker was out of shape and Edhouse had a fluke run. I like it that way, because it makes the top ranking spots at least a little more transparent. If the top 32 only need to beat a qualifier to make top 32 again, that feels a little unfair to lower ranked players, who have to beat stronger players just to achieve the same.

Facing Rock gifts him a place in the final.
>>
>>153784892
True, but probably also true:
>facing more or less anybody gifts him a place in the final
By now, who has a realistic chance to take him out in a sufficiently long format? Fluke looks like shite against him, MvG in his current shape doesn't stand a chance, we all saw how Chud performed, so there's only Gezzy who performs decent against him. Or do we have a secret weapon stashed down the rankings somewhere - one who preferrably is not Mitchell Lawrie?
>>
>>153784992
>By now, who has a realistic chance to take him out in a sufficiently long format?
Wade binned him from the Euros. But then he got raped against him in this final last year. Bugger.
>>
>>153784992
Literally nobody. The only hope against Littler is for the crowd to properly get on his back because it rattles him.
When he’s not bothered, really honestly not bothered, he will not lose long matches.
>>
A rather horrifying stat:

Even if Littler loses in the semi-final, his ranking money for the past two years will STILL be more than Humphries, van Veen & van Gerwen's COMBINED.
>>
>>153784992
>Or do we have a secret weapon stashed down the rankings somewhere
Agent Adam Gawlas reporting for duty.
>>
>>153785691
The maddest thing is that he’s got £1.5m on the OoM from the two world championship wins, that alone is more money than Fluke has, but if you take that 1.5m off he’s still the world number 1 by 170k.

And he’s only defending 1st round money at the next 3 majors. He will have more than triple the money of 2nd place soon.
>>
>>153785974
Fucking insanity.

>>

It’s mad how nice Wadey’s throw looks even though he’s a lefty. The camera angle makes every other lefty look like a fucking mong

Hood is the only other notable lefty who has a tolerable throw. That Spivey lad on Day 1 was decent as well.

He’s never losing a ranking major again

Do sort of feel a bit for Wade having lived through and survived the unplayable feel/mvg years only to now have to contend with this 18 year old unflappable version of the pair who misses fuck all.

Feels like Littler won the tournament with his C game.

>>153788385
Wadey already saving energy for the Matchplay in the summer, he's taking energy management to a whole new level. Littler expending all his energy in this meaningless meme tournament final like the newbie he is, typical beginner mistake.

The only ones who can save us are the Germans. He’ll never lose on these shores again, but maybe the Krauts can keep him too angry to win the euros

I mean at least it wasnt as shite as last year when he was limping around and stabbing himself with his own darts. Feel bad for anyone who chucked a tenner on him when he was 60/1 or whatever but there was only going to be one outcome to this final.

Yeah, that was embarrassing as fuck last year. Tried to play mindgames with Littler but barely backed it up.

If Litler wins Euro Tour 3 he will be £4k from £3m. If he enters the Players Championships at the end of March he can reach it there.

And so Chapter 12 of The Darting Dystopia: "Effortless". This weekend Luke Littler has been mainly playing his B/C game and still walked the tournament. That is very worrying for the rest of the field, none more than a certain James Wade who competed far better in this year's final than last time, but still made it far too easy for The Nuke.

Littler ran into a 3-0 lead as The Machine malfunctioned, and were it not for a missed D15 for a 150 and then a complete failure on D10, he would have been leading 5-0 at the first interval. But Wade instead pulled it back to 2-3, survived a 167 attempt to make it 3-3 and then incredibly stopped playing again to allow Luke to re-establish the three leg lead, which was then closed back to 6-4 by James. The reigning champion then went missing himself, blowing 5 darts for 7-4 to get broken and then the match went level again at 6-6 thanks to a clean 83. Two more holds, with the World No. 1 missing tops for another break attempt, made it 7-7 before the final's big moment: Wade missed bull on 127 to lead for the first time, and Littler slammed in a 116 finish on tops to go 8-7 at the final interval. The finishing continued to fail for the veteran as he missed tops twice for 8-8, and then missed it again for 8-9. He got nowhere close in the final leg as the defending champion suitably finished 12 on D6 for major title #12 and moves ahead of his opponent tonight into outright third in the PDC all-time honours list.

At no point this weekend did Littler ever look in trouble. Kevin Doets got closest, but he couldn't take him to a deciding leg. The rest didn't even get near. If The Nuke can just cruise to major titles averaging 100, that is exceptionally concerning for the rest of the field, and brings into question just how good they actually are.

Overall a rather dull UK Open with Matchroom's production being notably poor, and given how ITV used to be that's alarming. Do they actually care about it?

Premier League returns Thursday.

Nor could Josh Rock, I thought he lost 11-8. But it was 11-9. Oh well, who cares.
