what sport is in the worst meta right now?
the best?
>>
I don't know about best but NBA basketball is the worst easy
>>
>>153817513
In america, the nfl is best because they’re allowed to play defense and scoring is somewhat under control. Baseball has gotten better with no sticky stuff. Basketball is absolute shit right now, no defense and just chucking threes.

genuinely cannot think of a single sport which isn't currently in the worst state it's ever been
just off the top of my head.. things that I actually pay attention to:
cricket, golf, football, rugby, league, tennis, combat sports, motor racing - have all without question never been in worse states than they are right now
makes me wonder if sport as a concept will even exist by the end of our lifetime
>>
Baseball is doing pretty good but if they lockout next year all momentum is gone.

Basketball is by far in the worst state a sport has ever been in. when lebron retires theres a legit chance it goes the way of NASCAR or table tennis and dies out
>>
>>153817513
depends who you ask, but I think athletics from 800m all the way through marathon are really great and compelling right now. Of course, any mention of it will bring out some grumbling about shoe technology, bicarb and doping.

Soccer meta sucks ass right now 2003-2012 were the golden years

Baseball meta sucks ass I'd say 2003-2012 were the golden years

Basketball Meta is garbage probably 2003-2012 were the golden years

NFL meta is broken I'd say 2003-2012 were the golden years

Hockey is always garbage desu boring ass sport if you watch on tv but awesome live

NBA and it isn't even close. Look at the travesty that just took place today in Miami. The self proclaimed "GOAT" 's team plays better without him. NBA is a case study for future generations on how to destroy your business to appease only the employees instead of the customers
>>
>>153817835
you can thank sports science and ANALytics for that
>>
>>153818075

Players and coaches demannding LESS games is so retarded it hurts lol
>>
The NBA is so bad that I don't even bother seethewatching it anymore, unlike the N Football League
>>
baseball nurules are good

This 6 Nations has been incredible. Rugby has gotten out of its rut. At least in the NH. Everyone very even now its fucking great this year.
>>
>>153817513
NBA, somehow manages to be worse than Ref/QB ball.
>>
NBA is on another level of bad at the moment
>>
>>153822949
the competition has been very exciting yes due to some unexpected results, but the sport itself is an inferior parody of what it used to be
>>
Is European basketball as bad as the NBA in memechucking and fts?
>>
>>153824709
why do you think so?

all the kicking or the rules around head contact
>>
How would you even fix the NBA? Can it be fixed before it's kill?

NFL isn't great but far from the worst it ever was
NHL is pretty good, not the best but nowhere near the worst it was
>>
>>153825512
Because Poo Zealand are no longer the best
>>
>>153817601
Hockey is better than gridiron right now but the rest of your list is pretty much right. Baseball is trending up and football trending down though too
>>
>>153817835
Test cricket and rugby league are both fine. I don’t know about golf, union is absolutely dire at the moment with the cards, tennis is fine, mma is awful but it was always heading that way but boxing is fine the only problem is people supporting stupid meme bouts, motor racing is so bad now every major category has gotten worse in the last decade

skating is booming right now, Alysa brought it back from the dead for the general population with that olympic W, plus you have Ami Nakai looking to challenge the cycle, Isabeau for the bants, Ilia quadgod Malinin for the female audience...
once putin croaks and russia returns for the 2030s it's going to get insanely intense just look who they have in the junior pipeline:
Anna Churkova
Mariia Hoholinenkova
Liubov Semenova
Sofia Putlerenko
萨莎 玛莎
Elena Kostyleva

too bad some get triggered by high brow sports
>>
>>153825698
we haven't been the best for over a decade mate
>>
>>153825571
You can absolutely fix the NBA. Tweak the 3 point rules so it's harder, relax foul calls, and introduce a hard cap to make it more difficult to build super teams. Would also probably benefit from contracting the league down to 28 teams or so.
>>
>>153825674
NFL is the worst it's been since pre-merger. The rules against defensive players make that side of the ball feel pointless, and the offenses are all cowardly screen merchants. It's pathetic.
>>
NBA basketball and NASCAR. Hard to pick only one when compared to their states at the turn of the century.
>>
>>153826923
Football has always been cyclical. The Seahawks won last year by riding on their defense. Expect to see 4-5 teams copying Macdonald's schemes next year and the majority of the league copying it in some form in the next 3.
>>
The championship in England unironically the most kino league and is currently seeing an underrated golden era, although i'm not sure many people realise it. But the money, coaching and tactics has filtered down from the prem but has not yet watered it down.

It still has the ruggedness of old school football, it still has the community, the strong sense of identity, age old traditional football clubs and rivalries but the quality of the sport is actually really good. I think thats quite rare these days and Tbh I don't think it will last very long before it is totally soulless like the prem.

Not to mention it is extremely competitive. Leicester who won the prem a decade ago, now could be relegated, Charlton just beat Middlesborough who are second. It is a truly unpredictable league.
