We don’t care about the WBC, we’re a hockey nation now.
>>153824271Never run away from baseball and reality, you coward.
>>153824271>giving up on our national pastimetreason
>>153828799Our national pastime is a tournament that didn't exist until 20 years ago?
First you didn't know you were not yet qualifiedNow you don't know you are still in the tourneyStarting to think bro indeed doesn't care about baseball
>>153839304He cares
I love baseball! Always have.
>>153850360
can we keep this one bumped to juxtapose the inevitable reaction when america beats usthough there will probably be like 12 threads for such a massive underdog victory (after all, they lost to italy!) so it might get bumped off
>>153839139Yes, you didnt have a national pastime until 2006
>>153850379im gonna bump it now, the game's almost over and the result is way way way way closer that it should be, this is not a good win for your country
alright, see, you did care! you lied again! enjoy getting raped by dominicans!
>>153828799Baseball hasn't been a cultural cornerstone here since probably the 80sIt belongs to the Japs and Dominicans now
>>153862866>Baseball hasn't been a cultural cornerstone here since probably the 80sWhy? What happened?
>>153863202NFL games provide a more entertaining media spectacle
>>153863202The strike killed a lot of interest honestly. Then when it started to come back after the HR race, the whole steroids thing was a killing blow for relevancy.
>>153824271I'm watching the WBC. There were some good games. Team USA1 (US) won a close game against Team USA2 (Canada) yesterday.Team USA3 (Italy) pounded Team USA4 (Mexico) a couple days ago.Big game tomorrow between Team USA1 and Team USA5 (DR).
>>153863629>>153863802How is baseball doing nowadays then?
>>153828544you will never be japanese private paco
>>153868161Going through a mild resurgence in popularity just in time for another strike.
>>153871662Why would there be a strike again?
>>153872165CBA between players union and ownership is about to expire later this December 2026. MLB owners refuse to spend given how much shit tier poor teams get so much from luxury tax payments from the richer teams it's like if EPL teams get parachute payments but didn't get relegated. They will demand salary floors and more harsh luxury tax rules and try to hold players under team control longer which no union member will go for. All this positive movement from really good attendance to guys like Ohtani bringing in eyeballs and they're gonna throw it away because owners don't want to pay any money as long as people show up to the games and buy merch.
>>153872229The disgraceful statement Arte Moreno made about fans is 100% what all the owners are thinking, but not stupid enough to say out loud.
I dont know anyone younger than 65 that watches baseball
>>153872229I really hope it gets fixed because I'm getting into baseball and it's been a great experience so far, the WBC has been good and it's great to see all those countries uniting around a sport. Now, the MLB carries the sport worldwide, and if any reform happens, I hope it is to make the sport more popular worldwide.
>>153824271Hockey is gay, quite literally. It’s most known now for a show about two fag hockey players fucking each other
>>153828544Wise words my friend, too many treasonous zoomers for my taste, we can only succeed together or fail apart.>>153872775You only know anime watching, Adin Ross stream supporting, NBA addict faggots!
>>153872972I hope so too. The rules about speeding up the game have really made attendance go way up. I've gotten friends and females interested in going to games (cheap seats/standing room only is enough sometimes) just because hanging out in a good ballpark with a view in the summer time drinking is better than a bar. If a strike happens their interest will probably die like what happened in 1994 and interest didn't pop up again until the home run race, which was tainted by all the steroid users.Which in turn led to MLB refusing to market its stars until Ohtani and players of his age group started dominating.
>>153874945You guys are lucky, at least you can go to baseball games in person. We don't play baseball here, so I only have TV. I hope basebal spreads more. We need more sports being popular worldwide, it makes things more fun.
>>153828799>jew york alley slum stickball is "America's pasttime"
America should teach hockey to the world.
>>153872775Plenty of people in their 20s and 30s watching baseball right now.
