Banning a team for political reasons goes directly against FIFA's principle of federation =/= government. But FIFA is a sick joke and no one is surprised when they break their pretend principles.
Russia and Iran should play in an "alternative" world cup final. Would be fun. It would be an extraordinary thing for Iran to play in a country that is literally bombing them. What about the supporters? All of them really going to go to the US, hoping their house is still there when they get back? Doesn't seem right, but then again it's clownworld.
