Which league will die first?
>>153852130NHL
>>153852381That can't be, all Americans here know dozens of guys who watch NHL but 0 NBA fans
>>153852130NBA. Way more obvious it's rigged
>>153852381this
>>153852381Definitely more reliant on a the existence of white people and a functional-ish Canadian economy
>>153852130NBA gets more international attention, so it's MLB
>>153852130NBA obviously. Nobody watches this trash and we even have a general for it >>153779330Not Basketball AnymoreNational Betting ActionNever Buying Again
>>153853845foreigners are poor
>>153853845Anon the MLB is huge in a ton of Hispanic nations and Japan
neither will die in our lifetimes
>>153852381Hockey is on the up. Horny young girls who read smut just got into it.
>>153852381every NHL team is profitable, even the fucking mammothMLB has been growing recently, especially with kids, the current stars are bringing in international attentionNBA is dying right now, people only watch highlights because the game has gotten so standardized and boring
>>153853845I just saw hundreds of Koreans fly halfway around the world on four day's notice to face a match that they knew would almost certainly end in total humiliation (and did)
>>153855009koreans are desperate for white validation they will do anything. soulless bugs
>>153855009You gotta remember LA would be the biggest Korean metro area in the world if it wasn't for Seoul
>>153852130NBA who watches all the shoe squeeking.
>>153852130neitherbasically every sport is growinglacrosse even
>>153854867>a ton of Hispanic nationspoor>and Japandemographic death spiral NBA wins
>>153855277>poorMost NBA fans are poor
>>153855295This is true. The average NBA fan is bottom tier demographics. They live paycheck to paycheck and are the only retards who pay $500 to go watch the stars sit on the bench load managing
>>153855277retard, that was already a rebuttal to stupid NBA international appeal to third worlders. You fucking shit head. A half empty stadium still draws more than sold out NBA arena. America HATES the NBA
NBA. It feels like a reality TV show at this point
>>153854867Japan cares about their own league, most MLB games are at an inconvenient time for them.
>>153862482What do you mean?
>>153852381The NHL has survived 2 lockouts and a shortened season. I truly believe it is the only NA sports league that will survive the civil war/WW3/Balkanization since those events would have killed any other league
>>153862518Too many emphasis on drama/celebrity antics/social media and not enough on the actual sport
>>153852130NFL
>>153862537What about college basketball?
NBA is just a footwear corporation ad.
>>153868136all the good players only play 1 year then go to the NBA so it's free of drama queens.
>>153868136I like it since the players are passionate and want to win
>>153869099>>153870045That's cool, how do you watch college basketball?
>>153852130
NBA is more likely to collapse into a World League situationMLB is an old institution with a lot of other old money institutions tied to it. It's only popular to a profit in a few regions that are difficult to run games between due to time differences. NBA could collapse, the organizations remain, join a league with top FIBA teams and a few Arab/Chinese/Filipino teams and functionally create World League
>>153882583Who watches golf?
>>153852130It's clearly the NBA. The commissioner is a retard who's walked around like a dog by the glamor teams, the superstars, and now the gambling industry, many of the star players have contempt for the fans, the style of play is like watching paint dry, the media openly hates the sport they're paid to cover, and it's already had a bad reputation for ethics and being rigged for decades. Almost all engagement in the NBA is built around off-court drama, trades, or trade rumors now, not the actual games, since those have been reduced to who makes more of their threes.
>>153892280Forgot to mention, the NBA basically exists to suck off the Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, Warriors, OKC, and they probably wish the rest of the teams didn't exist. You're treated like a sucker if you actually try to be a dedicated fan of a team that isn't in the league/media darlings clique. It also doesn't help that NBA players are the biggest babies about which cities they're willing to play in. The NBA actively discourages anyone who isn't a mindless bandwagoning hypebeast from caring at all about their product.
>>153891274Scots
>>153854974>NBA is dying right now, people only watch highlights because the game has gotten so standardized and boringI got invited to go out to an NBA game and holy shit it didn't feel like anything was really happening
>>153902042when both teams just go up and down the court scoring 60+ times a game, yeah, it feels like nothing is happening
>>153892280What's with the NBA in particular and sporsbooks?>style of play is like watching paint dryI agree but I can't put my finger on it. What in particular about their playstyle is boring? Is this playstyle optimized at this point, and the optimal playstyle is just boring now?
>>153902064That's exactly what it looked like to me, and I haven't been to a game in years
>>153882533On tv or viprow.co
>>153854919and they all got bashed against the rocks realizing that the vast majority of hockey players are conservative chuds and that Letterkenny/Shoresy lied about them being progressive good boys who are all gay and love single moms
>>153852130>>153882666>MLB is an old institution with a lot of other old money institutions tied to itpeople don't realize that MLB built a streaming empire 10 years ago while no one was looking and the underlying tech is why MLB Advanced Media's tech output was miles ahead of everyone else at the start of the sports streaming war, and they provided tech infrastructure for the initial rollouts of basically every American sport league's initial attempt at streaming besides the NFL. they also got HBO Now off the ground.they put a bunch of their streaming tech as its own company called BAMTech and spun it off, and Disney bought it to power Disney+. MLB is sitting on a multi-billion dollar war chest just from that alone
>>153852130So I think what people are missing here is that MLB fans have money. Many are boomers. It has a lot of international appeal as well.Basketball, unfortunately, has a lot of poor fans. It doesn’t have as much old money involved in it. Also the new generation of stars are boring as shit outside of the white guys. Meanwhile, MLB has some of the greatest of all time playing right now.I don’t think either will die, but I think MLB has a better chance of being relevant for longer.
>>153852130NBA. MLB somehow has infinite money.
>>153855009Was that for an MLB game?
>>153853845Just wait until the Euro leagues start poaching NBA/CBB talent.
>>153902561Will the Euro leagues be able to offer more money than the NBA? How?
>>153902599>only america has billionaires
