>Why has the decision been taken?
Article 82 of AFCON's regulations states that if a team refuses to play or leaves the ground before the end of regulation time without the referee's authorisation, it will be considered the loser and eliminated from the competition. Under Article 84 any team that violates Article 82 will be permanently eliminated and lose the match 3-0.

>Does this contradict IFAB's Laws of the Game?
IFAB, football's lawmakers, determine the rules of the game worldwide. Rule 5.2 in IFAB's Laws of the Game states: "The decisions of the referee regarding facts connected with play, including whether or not a goal is scored and the result of the match, are final." By overturning the match result two months later, CAF's appeal body appears to have directly contradicted IFAB's rules.

>How much damage has been done to AFCON's reputation?
The Senegalese federation branded the decision "iniquitous, unprecedented and unacceptable", saying it "threw discredit on African football". Secretary general of Senegal's football federation called the decision a "shame for Africa".
"It's quite sad to see how things have developed and some of the reactions because for such a long time, there's been a big debate about AFCON and African football getting the respect that it deserves," African football expert Mimi Fawaz said on Sky Sports News.
"But reading the reaction from a lot of the African football fans, that's the argument that they're making, some of them, that it has put a stain on African football''.

>How have Morocco's players responded?
As it stands, none of the star players of Morocco's squad have celebrated the AFCON final result being reversed. Footage circulating on social media appears to show Brahim, whose panenka penalty was saved at 0-0, being informed of the decision. He is shown laughing and lifting his arms in celebration, seemingly in jest.

You don’t just get to postpone the game for 10 minutes because you’re having a temper tantrum about a perfectly good penalty decision.

I couldn’t believe it didn’t just get forfeited during the match.
>>
Hmm i think these ivoey peaches have a rivalry with senegal, but. you get the idea
>>
>>153918455
in the same way all other north african countries will want you to lose, all french speaking sub saharan african countries will have the same banter. mali, ivory coast, senegal etc

Is there video proof of the 3 goals scored? I've only seen the Senegal goal, which doesn't appear to be acknowledged by the score
>>
>>153918594
>the Senegal goal
2 of them
>>
>>153918377
to be honest, this is all the referee's fault; he did a terrible job. We either did this or we really did try to corrupt him and get him on our side, but if we did that, he would have ended the match as soon as Senegal left.
>>
>>153918594
It says in the rules, that when a team leaves the field for 15 minutes, the result of the match automatically becomes 3-0 in favor of the team that didn't leave.
I know reading is hard.

Why 3-0? Don't football games usually end 1-0 or something

>As it stands, none of the star players of Morocco's squad have celebrated the AFCON final result being reversed.
Because there is a chance the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will turn the result back to what it was.

it's a disciplinary score in case of a loss due to forfeiting

All Senegal have to do is say Morocco said something racist and then they were just following protocol
>>
a turkish team left for only 2min and the match was given 3-0 to other team i dont know why chuds are seethings about this
>>
If I was Moroccan I would not be celebrating winning this way, its just an unsavoury way of winning a title. The decision is correct and CAS will probably throw out the Senegalese case because the burden of proof is on them.
>>
>>153942272
Waas this given to them on the spot by referee decision or by some court 4 months later after the game has been finished entirely on the pitch?
>>
>>153936339
nah, i recall watching a vid about some olympics, long marathon, the morocans were cheating, a laped morocan wasnt allowing the race leader, a black guy, to pass to allow other morocan to get close, they won the race but obviously were disqualified, but after saying racism they were reisntated, because everyone knows that they are the lowest of races
>>
>>153942347
From our point of view it's weird behaviour but for other cultures getting a win is a win no matter what.
See Argentina 2022
>>
>>153949097
The lowest of races ran your country for 700 years and is currently holding your government by the balls.

the referee ended it but still bring me one case where a team left for 15min without branded the loser ? also i just cant feel bad knowing almost anyone would have done the same even senegal itself
>>
>>153949097
>ref does a bad call like whistling too soon
>diaz keeps calling a penalty with the ref even having to go back to check VAR to confirm it
>senegal immedietly breaks the law by chimping out like monkeys and gets out for 15min
>stupid ref ignores the law and continues the game anyway
>senegal wins
>muh drama ! senegal won agaisnt corruption !!!!!
>boardroom delays decision for 2 months 'not our mistake'
>muh corruption is back again ! shame on CAF !
K, bro, whatever makes you feel good LOL
>>
imagine thinking Senegal were the good guys in this
without this incident though, I wouldn't have known about the 2019 CAF CL final which was interrupted for 80 minutes when a Tunisian club chimped out and left the field

You're right, but in reality Morocco should have won 3-0. Seniggal's antics got into Moroccan players' head.
>>
>>153975398
what about the senegal goal?
what about the penal?
why didnt he give moroco as the winners right then?
reminds me of that chelsea barcelona match, teh one that they stole like 5 penals, there was a moment after the ref stole 1 penal taht one chelsea player began to scream and follow the ref like a madman, that a red card, even then, but the ref, knowing that he was stealing the game and that he was a bad person and deserved it didnt do it
the same here, the ref knew that he was stealing the match, and yet you lose, soooo pathetic

No, 2.31 goals per game at the last Afcon
