Okinawa Shogaku (沖縄尚学) is a private school from Okinawa Prefecture. They are the premier team from Okinawa, having made 20 appearances at Koshien, the most of any school from the prefecture. They are one of only two Okinawan schools to have ever won the tournament, doing so three times (Spring 1999, Spring 2008, and Summer 2025). Their most recent Koshien appearance came this past summer, where they won the tournament. As the defending champions, they are considered strong favourites.
Fall stats: 6 W, 1 L; AVG .303; 1 HR; 1.22 ERA

Standout player: Ryosuke Sueyoshi (末吉 良丞) #1, Pitcher, 3rd year.
61.2 IP / 2.04 ERA / 47 H / 60 K / 24 BB / 14 ER (previous Koshien + U-18 national team stats).
An ace pitcher who won last year’s Summer Koshien as a second year student, he also represented Japan in the 2025 U-18 Baseball World Cup. He is one of the most highly rated players in this tournament and a projected top draft pick.

Teikyo (帝京) is a private school from Tokyo Prefecture. This will be Teikyo’s 27th appearance at Koshien, but their first since Summer 2011. They are a former powerhouse, having won Koshien three times (Summer 1989, Summer 1995, and Spring 1992). Teikyo won last fall’s Tokyo tournament and qualified for the Meiji Jingu Tournament, earning a spot in Spring Koshien. The school is also highly successful in soccer, having won the Soccer Koshien six times and has produced a large number of J.League players.
Fall stats: 8 W, 1 L; AVG .354; 7 HR; 1.61 ERA

Standout player: Ryunosuke Medai (目代 龍之介) #8, Outfielder/Pitcher, 2nd year.

A power hitter who has stated he aims to hit seven or more home runs at Koshien (which would break the tournament record). He also hopes to play in the Majors.

Their last Koshien appearance was Summer 2024 where they lost in the 2nd round.

Hachinohe Gakuin Kōsei (八戸学院光星) is a private school from Aomori Prefecture, this will be their 24th Koshien appearance and their first since Spring 2024. They have never won Koshien but were runners-up 3 times during the early 2010s. Traditional powerhouse school, they recruit baseball players from across the country and have them board. They also have the largest baseball club of any school at the tournament with 87 members. No MLB alumni but a bunch in the NPB, most notable would probably be Hayato Sakamoto who is a 13x NPB All-Star and won the Gold medal at the 2020 summer olympics with Samurai Japan.
Stats: 8 W, 1 L; Avg: .275; HR: 4; ERA: 1.18.
Standout Player: Akihiro Kitaguchi (北口 晃大) #1, Pitcher, 3rd year. He pitched 62 innings in Autumn with 51 K's and 0.73 ERA. Including a 140 pitch complete game shut out in the semi-finals of the Tohoku regionals.(He also occupies the DH role through the Ohtani rule)

Sutoku (崇徳) is a private school from Hiroshima Prefecture. This will be Sutoku's first Koshien appearance since 1993 and their 6th overall. Despite the low number of appearances, Sutoku have actually won Koshien once, 1976 Spring (Exactly 50 years ago btw). Actually, that tournament was the last time they ever won a game at Spring Koshien as in their only other two appearances they lost in the 1st round. The school won the fall Hiroshima and Chugoku tournaments, earning them a place in the Meiji Jingu and this years Spring Koshien.
Stats: 10 W, 2 L; Avg .322; 3 HR; 1.76 ERA
Standout player: Rinku Tokumaru (徳丸 凜空) #1, Pitcher, 3rd year. 85.1 IP, 63 H, 83 K, 15 BB/HBP, 17 R, 1.48 ERA. He pitched 3 complete game shutouts in the fall Chugoku tournament.
