on a whim, this has been my first time watching a tournament, and i found it to be incredibly enjoyable. i learned a lot about ranks, rules, ceremony, and history throughout this, occasionally watching other videos explaining things (especially about history, ceremony, and dohyo construction and stuff).one thing i would like somebody to explain to me though, is the limits of "thrusting/slapping" technique. sometimes they hit incredibly hard, like in the tachiai, but other times its just kind of stiff arming. are there any rules that prevent mega haymaker slaps or open palm punches (like in the form of a boxer, but open palm)? and what are the limits of grabbing wrists? can you armlock somebody and force them down with leverage?
