I think the MLB needs to expand into more countries and teach people how to play baseball. They should provide equipment too. I’m sure they’d make their money back very quickly.

Imagine a pitcher from Vietnam going up against a batter from Brazil. Japan already gets great ratings with the NPB, so imagine that in a lot more countries.

Baseball has been around for almost 200 years, MLB since 1876. I think everyone has had enough time to get into baseball. Or is it really you just want some free gloves, bats and balls?

>Imagine a pitcher from Vietnam going up against a batter from Brazil
That's suppose to sell me on your stupid idea?

The more the merrier, Anon. As of 2026, the only countries that play baseball regularly are the United States, Japan, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Mexico, and South Korea. That's it. The WBC 2026 gave us Italy and Czech Republic, both of them did really well, but if baseball is to continue growing and expanding, more countries are needed. Brazil did well, and the sport is slowing becoming popular there, but it has to keep going on.

There was plenty of the world where baseball was suppressed for ideological reasons until pretty late into the 20th century.

>There was plenty of the world where baseball was suppressed for ideological reasons until pretty late into the 20th century.
Where? You mean the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe?
>>
>>153981289
You forgot Colombia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Panama, Nicaragua, Netherlands' Antilles, Taiwan and Canada, are all legit baseball countries, sure some of them are not part of the elite skillwise speaking, but for most of those nations i mention, baseball is their main or top 5 sport at least.
>>
>>153977272
that would require the commissioner wanting to actually improve the sport and not run it into the ground(another lockout)
>>
>>153982286
Hi, Dominican bro, how's baseball doing there so far? What are your hopes for baseball in DR and the rest of the world? You did great on the latest WBC, let's hope DR does well next time.

>>153982298
What do you mean with another lockout?
>>
>>153982473
doyers broke baseball by deferring all their players payments for a half decade, and now players are demanding the same salaries which the owners dont want to pay
>>
>>153982520
Is this related to the MLB not having a salary cap? Why the MLB doesn't have one anyway?
>>
>>153984108
because then NY and LA wouldnt have an advantage and small market teams would be able to sneak into the WS or playoffs
>>
>>153981083
I do want some free balls
>>

Baseball balls?

because it's unfair and unethical to artificially suppress salaries to enable billionaire owners to exploit their workers for profit

Do people in Estonia play baseball?
>>
>>154000067
How about a salary floor then?
>>
>>154017340
MLB players union will never, ever accept a salary cap. That negotation battle would result in an eternal lockout.
>>
>>154001547
you dun goofed here.
>>
>>154023751
what did you mean by this?
>>
>>154023852
I assume you're implying that the green texted statement is invalid because the players are highly paid. That's dumb on its own, but even that aside, you used the uncapped sport as evidence. That's the opposite of what you should have done.
>>
>>154023585
they should. they actually make less money compared to league revenue than the other sports leagues. And having cost certainty would cause an increase in team and league valuations which means more investment and revenue.
It's also good for parity, probably, though personally I don't think this is a good thing, leagues thrive when there's a bad guy like the Dodgers.

>salaries are the highest on average in years
>>by the end of the 2025 season they were the highest on average ever
>the owners are surpressing salaries muh college athletes

>brings up college athletes or no reason
>still doesn't understand that nobody is claiming that the salaries are being supressed by a salary cap in an uncapped sport

It would be based if it expanded into Continental Europe. UK
>>
>>154024174
you really can't read
>why doesn't the MLB have a salary cap
>because it's unfair and unethical to have one
>oh yeah then, why does the MLB (which doesn't have one) have such high salaries?
you are genuinely making the argument against the argument that you think you're making because you're an idiot who got confused.
>>
>>154024243
its not unfair or unethical
>>
>>154024256
lel i didn't say it was, i was showing you the series of posts that you got flummoxed by. then you accidentally dunked on yourself
