After that day I went to a local pool hall to learn, play on nice 9ft tables and have been self taught since that day about 6 years ago. Joined a league to learn how to play 9ball then dropped out to just fuck around on my own. I just order some drinks, enjoy the jukebox and play 9ball alone, have invited some people to my table and made good friends that I occasionally invite to play. Have even had some good times with coke involved. Any decent pool halls near you?
>>154081207Good shit no only a few outside of town for me. Most bars near me have the small tables not that they’re bad. I haven’t played for a couple years but it’s kinda like riding a bike with booze helping you see the shots. Drunk 8 ball is where I’ve hit my best shots
>>154081796Drinking definitely helps steady the arm and gives the much needed confidence to land the shots. I honestly have no fun playing on little bar tables and oddly enough when ive gone to bars the tables are always claimed by a group of people. Going to a legit pool hall is a whole different level of atmosphere and playing on 9ft tables is the icing on the cake. You got a cue? Recently upgraded my players cue with a carbon fiber shaft so I dont have to worry about warping, shoots very good.

>>154081053billiards in general seems to have fallen off quite a bit as a social gathering activity in Italy (or at least where I live), but I was always more of a fan of an Italian specialty that has no pockets and 5 (or 9) pins. The owner of a billiards place near me was really dubious when me and my friend showed up as teenagers and started questioning me over the rules. After I proved that I knew them he excitedly took us under his wing, teaching us a lot of stuff to improve. Apparently he was a former pro who couldn't make the cut to play at the highest level, and he sure had the skill to back up the claim.
