How come Japan improved while Korea regressed in all major sports?

Japan failed to make the semifinals for the first time ever and Korea made up for the embarrassment of 2023

Korea genuinely regressed after 2010. It seems that with all the corruption scandals, the lack of funding of K-League teams (now pushing it aside to local governments), the scrapping of the Korean GP. They don't have a plan B. That also said the Korea-Australia-Japan hegemony in Asan football is still alive and well. I'd say their system is maintaining the status quo not improve it

When I lived in Korea in the early 2010s the journies were saying that the addition of the Korean GP in Formula 1 is the cream of the crop for Korean sports funding. Instead it only last 2 years, nothing in Korean sports has changed since its closure.

Korea is the poster child for what is going to happened to the rest of the world if we don't ditch modern technology.

The worldwide Koreashilling has prevented South Koreans from pursuing sport for recreation. They’re all in boy bands and on Netflix now. They’re not allowed to do sport. Japan, meanwhile, has stopped its mad self-promotion and relaxed a bit, meaning that their citizens can now play football or other sports purely for fun.

kshit is old news like their performances. it only makes sense

>he forgot the actual feminazi control of the country
Probably had something to do with that.

Korea focuses almost all of its attention on those tests so why waste a promising young boy on athletics when they need him for academics?

That’s the same reason China sucks at soccer

Youth sports participation in Korea is extremely low. They are very specialized from a young age though, so for the few that do play sports it's all they do, like it's their career path that they've already chosen by middle school. They are also relatively bigger and stronger than other Asians, so they can still produce decent athletes in a wide variety of sports but the pool of athletes to choose from is relatively miniscule, plus they don't have many children these days either which doesn't help.

Japan is just normal. Actually I think this in general but Japanese people are always called quirky and weird but they are definitely more culturally "western" than most other Asian countries, certainly more than other East Asians.
