welcome back countystreams lad
>glammy start delayedreeeeeeeeeee
Have to say I've not been feeling very bothered about the start of season. The Ashes was a lot and then the meme20 came on top and I switched off, was feeling over-saturated with cricket and Englands cricket clown show. Then its felt very slow for Essex this off-season, it usually is, but it came on the back of what was a fairly disappointing season for Essex: crap in the white ball and a frustrating championship. I don't expect much for the champ. this year, Essex does have a strong side so should not be looking at relegation but it depends on absences and getting to firing on all cylinders again. Naturally the club will be focusing mostly on the white ball, but not convinced they'll really challenge their unless they've made a big improvement.
I've said it several years in a row now but; wouldn't it be interesting if they could organise a match between the County Champion and the Sheffield Shield Winner like they have the World Club Challenge in the Rugby League. I thought that in previous years matches between WA and Surrey would be close, especially if played in England. But I reckon SA would roll over Notts rather embarrassingly easily.
>>154100866Do we think both Root and Brook will be playing for Yorks?
>>154101011Not today.>we're delighted to confirm that Joe Root & Harry Brook will be available for our County Championship game v Surrey on 15th May
>>154101011root vs root surely no idea about brook hopefully not
this is >our best chance to win a game this season i reckonoh billy root is out too kellaway and tribe pls perform well
>>154100963Agreed, would be a nice spectacle, and increase interest in the county game a bit moreCould do the same thing for the white ball comps too, maybe some short of short international T20 comp that pits the winners of the main domestic tournos against each other
Raining in Southampton ffsyh starting the season in the first week of april great idea fucking cretins
Think I'll watch Leics v Sussex.
Interesting to see Dan Lategan get the start for the Pears this seasonVery highly rated prospect, I expect him to have a good season (although he might be more of a white-ball player, not sure)At £4.5m in the fantasy cricket league, he's surely an absolute must-have
watching bards pears until glammy come on
>>154100752bblw for this feel?
>Woakes opens the bowling for Warks >already had a 4 bashed off him
>>154101137Good man yourselfHope they sort the sound out on this shitty stream
this bloke looks very unhealthy bardsickly!
Haines looked good for Sussex last season and did good for the Lions, hopefully Fatty Key and McCum aren't lying and there is actually a hope for him or someone to replace Zakky C. Already scored 2 4s off a couple of pies in his first over.
>>154101158Hannon-Dalby, been a good bowler for Warks over the years, big loss for them I reckon.
>>154101158make-a-wish mate, have some respect
Not really a fan of >us signing Olly Hannon-Dalby on an emergency 14-day loan because of the Swanepoel situationMeans the likes of Finch, Gibbon, Home, and Darley all don't get a look inYes, OHD is probably better than them, but the whole point of having a squad is that if one of the first XI misses out you've gotta give a chance to a younger lad>>154101158Emergency signing from Warwickshire, unfortunately they're very sickly in that neck of the woods. No green and pleasant land near Birmingham
the budget for these streams must be 50 quid
>>154101172It's only for two weeks, he'll probably still play for them at some point this season. But he's fallen behind the likes of Bamber and Gilchrist in their pecking order, so they've loaned him to us to keep him match fit for a couple of games. Don't like the system at all, myself, but hopefully he'll contribute>>154101186Seeing as we're all watching for free with adblockers installed I guess that's still a £50 loss desu
1st wicket of 2026 Durham 12-1 (3.4)McKinneyleg before wicket, bowled Stuurmanlbw
>>154101197Honestly don't know why they signed Gilchrist or why he was on the Lions, didn't look anything special for Kent and Kent have had a dogshit fast-bowling line up for a few years, especially when like last season they lost both their overseas in the championship.Yadvinder is absolutely shitting all over the bed btw the atm against Sussex, no wonder Worcs got rid of him. already 22 off 2 overs.
>>154101220That will be the last wicket Kent take all season lol
>>154101220Burns had gone before him but it was a run out kek
>>154101230I guess they see him as a decent long-term prospect seeing as he's 25 and has a respectable average (32), but you'd have thought OHD would be ahead in the lineupHadn't seen that Yadvinger had been picked up by Leicestershire, that's interesting, assumed he'd just go back to the Birmingham league. He looked ok as a fill-in option (which is all he was, he was one of a few players we picked up as emergency signings when 3/4 of our bowlers were crocked) but a little out of his depth. Interesting that he's getting another chance, and in Div 1 too. Don't expect it to go well, but you never know
Haines looking even more aggressive than usual, really is trying to chase that opener spot ahead of ol creepy. Looking slightly reckless but has scored some nice shots, glad I chose this one for a neutral.
Activity at the Rose Bowl ALERT
GONE GOTTEM Hughes gone a good catch
>>154101251well they cut short his bowling spell and put Green in and he takes a wicket in his first over, HINDU STRONGMINDS season is already over.
>>154101142me on the left haha
Jamie Smith is already gone c Smith b Bamber for 9. Always thought he was shit. Slurry on the ropes love to see it
>>154101267Probably the best up and coming opener, if they continue to ignore the likes of Sibley and HameedMcKinney at Durham another option who I think they like the look of, but Haines has been more impressive in his career so far>>154101306Unfortunately most Hindus lack the mental strength to succeed in EnglandThey just don't have the stones for it>>154101322He clearly has lots of talent, but has never proved that he's got the grit or staying power for the red ball gameI'd make the same argument about Bethell, although he did demonstrate it to an extent with his ton in the Ashes
>>154101344Bethell passes the eye test more than any english batsmen in a long long time
>britanons talking passionately about cricket>no zachy or sebbo shitting up the thread with off-topic posts/cric/ is healing
>>154101350Yeah potentially he has so much natural talent that it was the right decision to parachute him straight into the Test XI despite not having much experience in first-class cricketSuppose that worked for the likes of Tendulkar, in the past, so it's not always a bad call
>>154101366You seen that clip of root saying how he tried to get some county to sign bethell when he was 12 years old playing in Barbados?
>>154101375Yeah saw thatBit noncey desuBut Root's a good bat so I guess we can forgive those sort of foibles
Essex about to start batting at Hants
>>154101357HUZZAH
>>154101396Abbott will rip through the depleted Essex batting lineup like a hot knife through butter
shit work called
Unfortunately this is pretty muscular start from Derbyshire in what I hoped would be bowler-friendly conditionsRelegation to the minor counties looms for the poor Pears
eating poo
>>154101418YIKES took just four balls for this prediction to come true
it always rains in wales
could do with a wicky here bard mate
>>154101699Yeah it's not been a great start, admittedlyDropped catch and a couple of near-misses haven't helpedLong way to go yet, mind
Medingham then Bedingham is out cheaplyFeeling better about my decision to leave him out of my side now>>154101699GONE GOTTEMTAYLOR FINALLY INTO HIS STRIDE9 MORE WICKETS ABOUT TO FALL
