>less than five months to go

>A Virginia circuit court judge denied Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris' request for a preliminary injunction to play a seventh season on Thursday.
>Morris' attorneys argued he was wrongly denied a waiver by the NCAA for his 2022 season at TCU. Morris suffered a knee injury in the Horned Frogs' season opener that he said significantly impacted his mental health.
>Morris returned from the injury to play in three more games as a backup, including the College Football Playoff championship game. His attorneys said those appearances were part of a medically prescribed mental health treatment plan and that the NCAA disregarded mental health documentation submitted on Morris' behalf in denying his waiver.

https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/48433858/reports-ncaa-discuss-five-year-eligibility-proposal
>The proposal, which mirrors language written into the executive order issued by President Donald Trump last week, would give athletes five years of eligibility with the clock starting at the earliest of two dates: either when they turn 19 or graduate high school. There would be limited exceptions but they would not involve injuries, which has been a common reason for players to ask for extra eligibility.

Perhaps no transfer portal quarterback has higher expectations this fall than Leavitt. The same goes for Kiffin. However, this could be the perfect marriage if two things happen -- Leavitt stays healthy and he increases his completion percentage. In two years as a starter, he has only completed 61% of his passes. He's an exciting riverboat gambler who will take risks, but he also make spectacular plays. His ability to create off-platform throws while keeping his eyes downfield under pressure should flourish in Kiffin's system. The foot injury that ended his 2025 season remains a concern, but his gutsy performance against Texas Tech while injured showed his toughness. With elite left tackle Jordan Seaton protecting his blind side and an improved offensive line, Leavitt has first-round potential and the Tigers hold CFP capabilities.

Why is there so much hype for USC going into this season? No way they're making the playoffs at all.
>>
>>154172460
They are bringing in the number 1 class of freshmen. I would be excited if I were them too. That waffle guy really does remind me of the guys they used to have in their hay day. But of course you are right they are going to be too young.

And while I massively respect Gary Patterson. Dude is pretty old and has been out of the game a while. So now we have young ass players and are installing a new defense and our coach is probably rusty too.

Crazy that programs like Texas and USC couldn’t poach the Indiana defensive coordinator and had to settle for old guys instead. Who the fuck actually wants to live in indiana, it’s such a piece of shit. Compared to sunny Southern California or Austin Texas. And not to mention they could pay you a lot more too I’m sure.

It's spring game season in the world of college football with nine Power 4 schools holding an event on Saturday, April 11.

The SEC will take most of the spotlight with four games, including the debut (of sorts) for new Florida coach Jon Sumrall and a quarterback battle at Alabama between Austin Mack and Keelon Russell.

Here's a look at the top storyline, a position of intrigue and player to watch for each Power 4 game this weekend. Returning leaders and notable additions courtesy of ESPN Research.

Absolute crying bullshit that the SWC doesn’t exist anymore. Imagine this fucksquad + OU and OKST in the modern era instead of this frankenverse where taco tech and SMOO are dog walking 2nd rate conferences, while UT/A&M/OU are competing with a bunch of southerners who’s entire GDP is half of what each of them boasts individually. Texas college football should have always been contained to a single conference because otherwise it just overpowers the identity of other ones like some invasive species.
>>
>>154222271
Because Trump’s EO has absolutely no legal framework for enforcement, so colleges would first have to actually implement his retard babble for the players to have anything to sue.

For starters, you should really limit your options to schools in a p4 conference (SEC, B1G, Big 12, ACC) unless you just want to be some weird performative hipster that bandwagons a foreign team who’s games aren’t even reliably broadcast on tv.

Honestly it looks like Texas is doing something pretty interesting. Looks like they want to fill out the entire 105 man roster limit with quality players. Just picked up Darius Snow from sharty and they are taking a visit from an almost top 200 guy committed to a juco. And they got another guy yesterday.

If the plan is to start doing things like Nebraska did back in the day where you basically run 3 practices simultaneously and get your players hyper experienced I think that’s smart as fuck. It looks like they are building NFL style practice squads or something.

Ironic since Cincinnati is suing Brendan Sorsby for breaking his contract by transferring a year early. UC will win the lawsuit and then every school will contract players to protect themselves. College is now officially a Rookie league. At this rate, the NFL might as well buy up the CFL, UFL, and start their own 18-21 year-old league to complete their minor league system.

Hi, I'm here from /nfl/. I see that 3 out of the top 5 prospects in >our draft are from Ohio State. I'm sure that means they won some important college football trophy or whatever you have. What should I congratulate them for winning?
>>
>>154301645
The talent on paper is ridiculous but the spring game was not encouraging at all to me. The defensive lineman can ragdoll the offensive linemen and fork lift them into the backfield at will. It’s honestly comical how bad the offensive linemen at Texas are. Like the starting linemen get bullied as if it’s the JV vs the Varsity team. It’s like they give steroids to the defense linemen and put the offensive linemen on a vegan diet. Truly it’s bizarre that they are so fucking weak and uncoordinated.

Arch was literally the best QB in college football in the back half of last year.

Their o line is still going to be garbage though that’s true. There is a major culture/coaching problem there. The NFL draft will see the universal 5 star Texas guard DJ Campbell go in the 6th round. Absolutely unacceptable lack of development. And it really is baffling because the development on the D line tends to be top tier.
>>
>>154313807
>Arch was literally the best QB in college football in the back half of last year.
No. He only completed 2/3rds of his passes once in the second half of the season. He threw less INTs in the last half of the season but his completion percentage also dropped. He wasn't playing better than Mendoza, Chamliss or Beck

Idk I think deboner is an actual good coach but he is used to a very different type of player and has to learn how to buck break the “locker room” at bama. I think he will figure that out but bama is at a systemic disadvantage cause you’ll never be an Oregon or Miami or Texas type rich team. No more stacking the most talent and just beating everyone up. It’s all on Deboner to be smarter than everyone else like cig just showed us possible.

Also side note. Nick brooks is starting and he had a 17.1 pass blocking PFF last year at Texas which makes him like the worst pass blocking guard I have ever seen kek good luck with that keelon bussel

If it turns out Cincy is the whistle blower, whew boy, they better not be given any lenience. One of the rare cases where snitching should actually make them more culpable since they’d have nothing to lose from doing this otherwise. Tech’s the one getting fucked over.
>>
>>154414645
Taco didn’t pay them the transfer fee, so they ratted them out. They owed 1 million to Cincy for Sorsby that they didn’t pay. At the end of the day, taco did this to themselves like with everything else they do trying to avoid the pirate’s curse.
>>
>>154412598
As far as we know right now, Sorby didn’t gamble in Texas. All we know is that he bet on Indiana while at Indiana, and bet on balls and strikes at a Reds game while he was in Ohio.
>>
>>154414699
If you bet on your own program that’s 100% loss of eligibility. Least he will get is maybe a 4 game suspension, which probably won’t mean anything since the BXII is so weak.
>>
>>154414680
They did though. They gave Sorsby an extra 1 mil to pay back Cincy, but Sorsby kept it apparently. Probably gambled it all away like a dipshit.
>>
>>154414717
Tech’s probably still gonna win the Big 12 because the rest of their team is loaded, but they don’t just want win their conference. They went out and paid a guy like Sorsby because they don’t want to get humiliated in the playoffs again.
>>
>>154414721

>>154414717
This. Their first four games are Abilene (which would be hilarious if taco loses if the ACUfag is still alive), Oregon State, Sam Houston, and Mexican Houston. Its funny how you talk about money like this. Oregon is a far more of a "just money" team than texas tech is. They have just been doing it longer. Oregon has no rich traditions, their fans barely give a fuck, they have NO in state talent, weak football culture. Contrast that with Texas Tech who has some of the most maniacal fans, long standing traditions, and from a state full of talent and strong football culture.

Also you are certainly the one coping. The defense was even elite in the oregon game if you actually watched it. The offense gave them no chance and couldnt even keep them off the field long enough to have a break.

Wrong, again you’re goalpost moving. First of all, they were relevant 0 years before Leach, and Leach only made them relevant for one week after beating Texas in 2008. After that week they got smashed by Oklahoma and then again by Ole Miss in their owl. So Leach himself wasn’t some relevance merchant. Second, last year they were actually in championship contention (something Leach never did), won 12 games (Leach never did) and won their conference (Leach never did). So they even score against your moved goalposts.

That one week is longer than they've been relevant since. Pay the man what he is owed, lest ye suffer for eternity.

Quick update on Bret Bielema:

Bret Bielema seemed to call out Georgia again for potential tampering.

>After the 2026 NFL Draft, Jeremiyah Love's father claimed the running back turned down lucrative NIL offers to play for Notre Dame. He never named Georgia, but a social media user shared the video originally posted by Arizona Cardinals Bo Brack, baselessly claiming the Bulldogs tampered and made Love an offer to transfer.

>Illinois head coach Bret Bielema delivered a pointed reply to the misleading tweet.

>"Wish they had succeeded," Bielema wrote. "Because they came and got ours."

It’s literally your own fault. You should have made your players sign contracts and sue them for breaking the contract. Skill issue.

No. Taco has been hiding behind sovereign immunity from civil suits ever since they fired Leach. It's not a meme, they owe him money.

Some deal must have been made with the family because I haven’t heard anything about the lawsuit and his family appears at games so some settlement happened. What that is who knows
>>
>>154425065
Settlements made with the state are public knowledge. No settlement has been made.

Settlement out of court with public money would still be public information. It would have to be something like the athletic foundation that paid things off but there's no reason for them or Taco Tech to keep quiet about it if they did make a settlement.
>>154425065
Coach Leach pretty much gave up on the lawsuit once the court ruled that as an arm of the state, TT had immunity. He had a law degree so he likely knew there wasn't much he could do once sovereign immunity was invoked. As for his family, they want his legacy protected, which means playing nice with the school so they'd put him in the Hall of Fame. None of this removes the pirate's curse.

Seriously man it’s been like 4 damn years of this same dumbass (you) bait. You gotta get over taco tech obsession making you post the same 2 things over and over and over and over and over. Like fucking talk about something else where it doesn’t make the thread devolve it stupid petty insults

Bruh, Tech’s defense was elite even vs Oregon. It was their offense that shit the bed.
>>
>>154422898
Mahomes arguably made Taco more relevant than Leach did. Truth be told though, they’ve always been the 3rd most popular cfb team in the state, and in a state as large and football obsessed as Texas, it’s actually kinda bizarre that they’ve achieved so little historically. Like people give UT and A&M crap for perpetually underperforming, Tech is possibly even more pathetic in that regard because nobody even thinks they’re worthy of having expectations of being better than they’ve been.

Always the annoying nigger who can’t take the hint. Whatever here’s your last (you)
