>competitive Continental team requires at least $350,000–$500,000 for the first year

If we all do a whip around and lean heavily on swiss bert's offshore clients and rusberts oligarchs connections, we could get a /cyc/ conti team up and running. Get into a couple 1.1's, maybe a 2.1. Surprisingly affordable. Wonder why more don't exist. Pro tour is 20x the cost mind.

My big question is the travel expenses but I guess it depends on where you're racing. One hand, shipping bikes and related equipment is fairly cheap with some risk. But then you need plenty of spares, nutrition products etc. So a race in Greece can't just be that cheap. If it's a centrally based team like Belgium or France I guess that reduces cost because there are many local races. But if you're a conti team you'd want to take advantage of racing in cool locations. If I stumble on a cache of a few million, I'd definitely like to try it for a few seasons. Licence itself is 15k plus a 30k bank guarantee that's required for wage disputes. First year set up and costs is about the cost of an average 4 bedroom house in the UK. not that much all things considered. And with sponsors the layout is even less.

Then you have teams like Dukla Banska Bystrica, the ex-con team from Guam or the rapist the from Team Universe who during one calendar team start in 30 different countries (SEA, Sudaka, Africa, etc.).
My guess it's money laundering scheme.

His family are part of a cult. He's definately got a few screws loose. What is notable is his nice guy persona. It's a marker of sociopaths. Nothing wrong with being a sociopath, just be yourself. It's clear that he gets very agitated especially by visma and especially especially by Jorgenson.
>>
>>154153713
>What is notable is his nice guy persona. It's a marker of sociopaths.
when you watch some of the vlogs, you can see his mask drop: he constantly makes fun at the expense of others. It's subtle but it is there. I don't buy the nice guy act. And his alien performance? Impossible. Oh and the fact that his director sportif is a known doper...
The moment the news camera's are on him though, he changes into this timid, unnaturally humble and friendly character. Fake as fuck. He enjoys dominating everyone and understands he has to act like a nice guy or else people will really start to hate him lol.
>>
>>154153758
The worst case of it was the giro where Pellizarri attacked on the mountain stage, would have won the stage if greedy cunt didn't do a last KM alien performance. Would have been massive for Italy and Pellizarri because they didn't have a stage at that point. Poogacar had like 4 stages by then. Perfect situation to show you're a nice guy, as many great riders would have. Even Lance gave stages on the regular, including Ventoux.

Afterwards, he's overly nice because Pellizzari had a photo taken with him when he was like 11. He gives him his jersey and glasses, cringe as fuck. Pretty arrogant too, that's the sort of thing you do for fans, not a fellow rider. I hate him so much, I hate fakery more than anything in people.

Same. I'm slightly tempted to pay for a streaming subscription and a big data plan for the phone to have at least that reliably ready. But if the race turned out shit or said event turned out short I'd regret it.

>"Demotivating would be a rider who is very good – you can’t drop him and he beats you in the sprint," he elaborated. But Pogačar's ability "takes away all hope; the difference is simply that big.”
>“We used to sometimes talk about a peloton at two speeds; now there are three," Naesen said, adding: “He is a 10-star rider whom even they [Van der Poel and Van Aert] can’t even dream of keeping up with if the course is a bit tougher.”

I've heard of this. It's very suspect and give me major scam red flags. You can subscribe monthly to offset your carbon, so just spending a base amount or a personalised calculated amount for your despicable actions of existing in modern society. You can also purchase 'carbon credits' for every ton of carbon you supposedly produce.

>high-compliance EU permits reaching around €74.80/tonne ($80+), while voluntary nature-based credits often range from $5–$30/tonne, and engineered removals exceed $100–$1,000/tonne

So it seems his event is probably not law I'd assume, and instead the yogurt knitting organisers want the participants to voluntarily pay for carbon credits. The money is meant to go to various 'carbon capture' like forestry but with everything like this, you can be assured it's pissed away, pocketed, goes through various stages of admin and only a small portion is actually useful. Just another way they deindustrialized britain and cut off it's bollocks.

Ghent and Bruges both have a great museum for classical painting if you're into that. In Roeselare (close to Bruges) is the famous KOERS museum. Also close to a lot of WW1 museums and graveyards if war interests you. West/East Flanders (aka original Flanders) is the place to be in Belgium. Avoid Antwerp and Brussels, you can go to northern africa for the same feel but with better weather.
>>
>>154163447
There are loads. HMS Belfast is extremely good too, used to go often. The science museum is really fun, natural history museum is brilliant. I don't think I've been to the British Museum but I've heard it brilliant. Imperial War museum is a very good shout. Also the Cutty Sark and the Golden Hind is one of my favourites. https://www.goldenhinde.co.uk. And just 50 meters from that, there's a medieval prison attraction/museum called The Clink which is also really interesting and fun. Those two are next to a bit of a plaza and riverside restaurants. Tower of London is fantastic too.

In terms of museums and attractions I don't think you can beat london. There's a bunch of ghost tours too which are goofy but seem really fun. And depending how long you intended stay you could consider a 2 or 3 day stay in Edinburgh which is also magnificent, the Castle is fantastic, Arthurs Seat is great especially at night and it's full of cute chink tourists in short skirts. Scottish history is fascinating and I think the contrast of London and Edinburgh would be a good experience. Robert the Bruce, William Wallace, John Comyn being killed in a church.

Will Vismoid use the S5 at Roubaix or keep using the Soloist?
>>
I do not think Seixas should ride the tour. I think he is too young and the Fr*nch will put too much pressure on him.
>>

First tour should always be free of expectation. Go and have some fun. Get in some breaks, arse around meeting riders in the peloton. If you feel it, go for a stage. They probably will have expectations but I disagree, especially as a French kid. His best move would be losing 30 minutes by stage 5. There's something magical about a strong rider who isn't in GC. Feels like the world is their oyster. 4th in GC is irrelevant. Maybe he gets podium but what's the point. Dude still wears a nappy. Let him enjoy it.

I was thinking what if he chutes and doesn't get injured but he's out of the race. Kinda like last year but with 100km to go. What an anti climax after all the hype.
>>
>>154168415
Expectation should be in line with your ability. Seixas should do the tour and he himself will no doubt will expect a podium.

>Seixas, however, did that day in France. We were still recovering from the shock of how he had massacred Lenny Martinez, Matteo Jorgenson and Jan Christen on the Saint-Romain-de-Lerps climb, when we had to get hold of the oxygen machine again to absorb the shock of how well he was going downhill. And when that shock had subsided, artificial breath was again needed, as we had to deal with how he continued to distance the trio on the long, straight and flat roads in the end.
better start stockpiling oxygen
