Does AJ have a chance at beating Fury? Both are past it, but AJ still has his power. I wonder if Fury can avoid stiff AJ for the whole fight

>>154212034Didn't Jake Paul try to Ice him in Jamaica?
>>154213435Fury or AJ? Paul fought AJ in an expensive sparring match and got his jaw broken
I think AJ can beat Fury, simply because I think AJ can land on Fury, and unlike Wilder, AJ can generate power in all of his shots. That being said, I'm not sure if AJ WILL beat Fury. He's gone through more inside and outside the ring, so I'm not so sure
>>154213459I might be crazy, but I think AJ can beat Fury. Most likely by decision. I just wonder if that wreck has affected him at all
If Jaime loses to resendeez, can we get Jaime vs Plant?
>>154213459>>154212034AJ's last win was on a stiff, open target ngannou. Fury always fights to the level of his opponent and he's looked average in warm up fighters before, and then shown great heart and skills in fights after against Wilder and Usyk. AJ got schooled by Usyk twice, I never saw him beating Fury and I still don't. We just saw Fury having a fucking lump walk at him for 12 rounds, and he still managed to negate him and land tricky shots to a strong last few rounds. Aj gets hurt to easily and then has an adrenaline dump, he just simply isn't mobile enough and is too chinny. I'd like to see him fight Wilder but he's avoided that his whole career too.>unlike Wilder, Aj can generate power in all his shotsHe can generate accumulative power, but he's not the one punch artist that was Wilder, who very much could generate crazy power from odd angles, as we saw against Ortiz.
>>154213459I don't think AJ beats Fury, and even less so now that he is training with Usyk.
>>154215040We have yet to see a Ukrainian AJ. When he switches to southpaw.... Pwoar...
>>154215040AJ's identity crisis could get in the way against Fury

>>154218907We're really making fun of people dying? Really?
>>154214336Gotta give it to AJ for using a MMA bum to revitalize his career and get a fight with Dubois. If not for the Ngannou fight AJ's career would be dead by now.
You don't need to get KOed for free brain damage, just watch Inside the Ring. It's getting worse somehow.
>>154221636Lmaooo what a shitty show

>>154222336But do you think Shakur beats roided up Benn, because you know Zuffa will let him on those roids to recoup their 15m

>>154223335Roids can only help him so much lol. Couldn't even put his combos together to drop Prograis lmao. Plus I think Shakur might keep an eye out for shit like that to avoid ending up a victim like Haney
>>154223377Shady is worse, but he's a casual and I don't expect anything from him. Max has been commentating on boxing for more than a decade and he's still fucking clueless and still kissing ass. How is that even possible. Just regurgitate what Roy Jones and Jim Lampley used to say during his HBO days. Makes CAPpinger look like the oracle of the sweet science
>>154223459>Max has been commentating on boxing for more than a decade and he's still fucking clueless and still kissing ass. How is that even possible. We will never know...I'm mostly pissed the Bible of Boxing invited a fucking CASUAL to discuss boxing on their BOXING PODCAST. The shit he says actually makes me violent. I luckily haven't seen any clips of Max polishing a knob, barring the clip where he had to hype up Bumlamega and Bitchins when they joined Zuffa. That shit made me laugh, because you can't hype up a fighter like Berlanga
>Bitchins

Just watched my first episode of In The Ring. What a fucking garbage cast of characters. Max has successfully pissed me off. This is a great hate watch
CBS has signed with Zuffa btw. Seems like they're getting the B and below tier guys (in terms of popularity) to sign Zuffa. Things will go crazy if they sign Tank, Shakur, maybe even guys like Wilder, Haney, or Teo

>>154225854Zuffa is a disgrace. Fighters that sign with Zuffa is publicly signaling to their fans that they are fighting for money and not glory or legacy. Benn is Zuffa in a nutshell.
>>154228298Zuffa is not “fighting for money”, it’s a joke because it’s attempting to be the UFC for boxing, when the entire appeal of boxing over the UFC for fighters is their ability to negotiate far larger, fight-specific contracts. Boxers that sign with Zuffa are actually signaling that they don’t have much hope of being draws and making boxing money and just want a consistent, lower income, like UFC fighters.
>>154228298To view Zuffa the same way many viewed Saudi boxing. The difference is, I turkey actually did give us good fights for a while>Inb4 turki is actually involved with Zuffa

>>154232123>Benn vs RollyIncredibly funny build up, very funny bout. I want that one. Wouldn't want Ryan to accidentally ruin the Haney fight

both benn and rolly are bums desugood bumfight

Keyshawn vs Albright 2 promotion dropped today. It's very well made, sets up the story, and would get casual fans excited for it. "Anthony Joshua" is an olympic babby who got told his entire career he was great, yet has zero charisma and has barely faced solid opposition. His biggest career win was against a youtuber. The money and politics protected his ass from real challenges and was the reason he never faced Wilder. Chisora was always better than AJ.

ohhhh so this is where all the non-schizo posters are
>>154243199I have more respect for chisora than AJ though
>>154285811You found it!
>>154285861I think fans inherently respect fighters like Chisora because they aren't afraid of losing after a while, and are only motivated by giving the fans their money's worth. I dont think AJ had reached that level quite yet
>>154285117If AJ wasn't so stiff and robotic at times, I would disagree with you. His style is as generic and artificial as his persona. I still wonder if Fury is a little over the hill and can get caught by AJ
>>154291203The last time AJ really KOed somebody was more than 5 years ago, not counting Helenius or the MMA bum and Jake Paul. AJ is not some big puncher. He's definitely getting taken apart by Fury
>>154292871>AJ is not some big puncher.Huh??? Why would you not count Helenius? It's not like it was a lucky punch that took him out; he set up the KO shot after rounds of admittedly sucking ass. I can understand not counting The YouTuber or mmanlet, but he worked for the Helenius KO, and most likely would have done the same to Otto if it kept going. What are you even saying? AJ's biggest challenge is putting the pieces together to land on Fury, but if he does, it's going to be horrible for him
Makhmudov is expressing interest in being AJ's comeback fight. Clearly he's finally received his Fury check lol
The Streets™ are calling for Najee Lopez vs Ben Whitaker
>>154294632AJ is not a puncher. Wilder is a puncher, Wardley, Dubois, Itauma. It took 7 rounds for AJ to knock out a guy who almost died from a tap from Wilder on the backfoot in round 1. People think AJ is a puncher because of his meme fight with Ngannou and Jake Paul, but when he landed on Dubois, Dubois didn't even flinch. When he traded with Dubois, he got knocked the fuck out.Assuming AJ somehow lands on Fury, remember Fury survived three fights with a real puncher. AJ doesn't have power and he doesn't have a puncher's chance against Fury.
>>154296045Historically, Latinos have been known to expose the British so... Let's make it happen
>>154296120You do understand Helenius walked into Wilder's right, right? That why he was put to sleep. I'm not denying AJ's skill is is questionable, considering he shouldn't have suffered a bloodied nose or took that long to beat Helenius, but to say he doesn't have power or he isnt a puncher is ridiculous. Don't forget, he got stopped against Dubois BECAUSE he rocked him and got over zealous. And AJ has been considered a puncher way before the mmanlet and Paul, so I don't know what you're talking about
>>154296389The only case for AJ being a puncher was before Ruiz when he was fighting bums minus old Klitschko. That was 7 years ago. That's like saying Canelo is still a combination puncher. AJ hasn't shown any power except against Helenius, Ngannou, and Jake Paul in this decade.
>>154296702>AJ hasn't shown any power except against Helenius, Ngannou, and Jake Paul in this decade. That's about a 1/3 of his opponents. We're excluding Usyk (extremely difficult to stop), Pulev (stopped), Franklin (not the best, but historically durable and was fought during AJ's identity crisis), Helenius (stopped), Otto (corner stoppage, but would have totally stopped him if the fight had continued, judging from what we saw), and Dubois (was on the verge of scoring at least a KD before he got caught). Of the six guys he beat this decade, 4 were KOs and 1 was a corner stoppage. I just think your expectation for "puncher" is too high

It’s not that I dislike defensive boxing or the Sweet Science or any of that. Jokolie isnt that. It’s all about self preservation, but they forgot what business theyre in and would rather spend time with zesty feminine beefs on xitter. I really really wanna see Shock vs Shakur if he beats Ford. What a streak of wins that would be. Shock's confidence doesn't come off as arrogance like Keyshawn. I really dig his vibe
>>154368016I think Shock beats Ford. I like Ford, but the fight that put him on the radar, he was losing. After that, he fought a bad game plan imo against Ball, then he looked quite lackluster in the following match. Shock has been on a good run beating up Nova, Robson, and dominating Fulton (which seems to be mostly because of Fulton's retardation). I think he'll show up prepared and take that decision win. I really wanna see Shakur fight more southpaws. Like Zepeda, he's confident in his ability, but he knows what it feels like to lose and is more well rounded. Shock said he's willing to even move up to 140 to fight him lol, which isn't a foreign class for him. Only way Shakur can avoid him is by moving to 147

Miller's flat feet could be a problem here. Pero, if he wanted, could circle around Miller's lead foot and Miller would only have his own jab to stop it. I also don't think he likes those body jabs
Pero's lead hook is pretty good so far
Miller is so obese. He's not quick or fit enough to avoid or block Pero's shots. I don't see much of a way for Miller to avoid a KD at this point
>>154382627Well he can rough it up and up the pace. Good start so far for miller
>>154382548Well Pero is content staying with his back on the ropes lol, what a game plan
I totally underestimated Miller. He's been adjusting since round 2, and he's way better on the inside than I expected. That's his win con. Let's see if he can consistently get there
Phenomenal case of cock and ball torture
Pero could just walk a bit and gas Miller out but instead he wants to stand and trade, giving Miller an advantage and now he's getting his ass kicked
>>154382749I don't even know if they prepared for miller. I saw some early body jabs, but you'd think they'd try to make the land whale chase them, right?
Pero needs to escape
>>154382781the land whale is leaning on him and bully him now, Pero is still on the ropes, zero foot work this match
Pero looks more tired than miller lol wth
This fight is something else, it looks like Miller is using Pero as a heavy bag doing drills
>>154382905He's having fun. I wanna say he should be careful, but Pero won't land anything crazy at that range. They really didn't prepare properly for Miller
Pero can escape the ropes and spin miller, but he isn't making distance
Pero is getting hit with a lot of shots man he doesn't look very good. Very short, non telegraphed shots from Miller
>>154382993Waiting for Miller to put a little juice on one of them. Pero is there to take them, I believe. Right now he's just touching him
>>154383008Miller still playing with food, not seeing him trying for a KO
>>154383169He kinda does in bursts, but those Aren't pero by surprise
>>154383218*Aren't taking pero by surprise
I like watching miller fight on the inside, but I wish he knew how to change tempo mid combination. Either tapping or wide or fast shots
Missed the first 2 minutes, but I liked his pace in the final round. This was like a sparring match
That fight was lost by Pero rather than won by Miller. Pero's gameplan started failing in round 3 and he didn't bother changing it for the next 9
>>154383457Yeah the moment Miller decided to close the gap, it was over. I'm sure he had the skills to escape and make distance, but he never did that. Didn't help he gassed out super early>Cheatem>115-113How are they still scoring?
How do you honestly get to 115-113?
>>154383522>>154383545>115-113Kek
Miller and Wilder... Wilder couldn't get Chisora off him, and he's twice as slow as Miller. Big Baby by concussion UD
Forgot this was a title eliminator
The build up of Miller and Wilder would be entertaining, Miller is right about that. I think either Miller would be stopped (look luck betting on that with current Wilder) or Wilder is going to get battered. Fun fight, both guys deserve each other. You know, this would be nice to go on while Fury-AJ is going on. The winners can fight each other. Hopefully we get the long awaited Miller vs AJ
>>154382931What if pero is just fucking garbage?
>FURY’S TEAM WANT ANOTHER FIGHT BEFORE JOSHUA ‼>@Tyson_Fury's manager Spencer Brown has revealed that they want Tyson to have another fight before he fights Anthony Joshua in a "proper warm up" ahead of his potential clash with AJ at the end of the year Is this an act of rebellion after AJ claimed he was in control? Why call a guy out, then immediately ask for a tune up? What a fucking waste of time

AJ is coming back to fight some kickboxer. I blame Usyk. And Fury. And Floyd...The Ring also confirmed AJ vs Fury is set for the 4th quarter of 2026. I won't be watching AJ kill another non boxer. I don't know what he's thinking using this guy and Jake Paul as tune up fights for Tyson Fury. What a joke
>>154404327It's a literal step back (from Dubois), much like what keyshawn is doing
>>154404327Kek what a shit show. Zero interest in watching that shit, I'm also not that interested in Fury and AJ anymore to be honest. I was a few years ago but now it's a blatant cash grab by two has beens. More interested in Wilder vs Miller or get fat Ruiz back in the mix
>>154406950>Wilder vs Miller or get fat Ruiz back in the mixAt this stage of the HW division, it's better to give the expired B- and below HWs some fights with each other. Even though Fury and AJ are B- guys at this point, the hype won't match the result. Just give me AJ Miller and Fury Kabayel
>Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson are in preliminary talks for a fight, @MikeCoppinger has revealed on @InsideRingShow.>Agreements around weight are currently holding up the discussions.Insomnia bros... We won...
>>154407282I call bullshit on that. If it's real then respect to Shakur and Haney but I feel they'll back out to chase bigger money and easier fights like Ryan
>>154407336Probably won't go anywhere since Shakur doesn't want to fight at 147 and Haney has become a diva when it comes to negotiating. Plus he probably won't want to drop too far down in weight
>>154407282Shakur literally just said this was bogus lmao. Why is Mike such a faggot?
>>154407602Shakur is lying to build hype.>t. Knower

I'll try to make the OP probox related without "box" being included to attract the lost /box/gods and weed out the sheemales
>>154409990Based, keep up the good work. I'll be posting in cbt or the next thread for may 2nd mega fight day as well
Looking at AJ's resume after Usyk, it really is no wonder why he's fighting the guy he's fighting. Franklin was a good comeback fight, but then he went on to fight Helenius (who recently got folded by Wilder) and Otto (who would go on to get embarrassed by Chisora). Then he fights a circus fight to "defend boxing's honor" after Fury almost gets humiliated against an 0-0 boxer, only to fight a Dubois who just stopped Miller and Hrgovic. He had zero time to properly stress test his new "well rounded" style, and instead opted to fight weak opposition after weak opposition until running into a guy who can actually punch. He's going to get embarrassed by Fury
I wouldn't be surprised if Inoue got dropped. And because of that, I wouldn't be surprised if he lost. Despite his defensive flaws at times, I think Inoue's experience will be his key to victory, especially his experience with being hurt
>Dmitry Bivol’s WBO light heavyweight title won’t be on the line vs Michael Eifert on May 30 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, due to the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, per a letter from WBO president Gustavo Olivieri obtained by The Ring’s @MikeCoppinger>The WBO won’t strip Bivol, though. The WBA and IBF titles will be on the line along with The Ring championship at 175lbs A lot of casual fans are against this. Hopefully we're approaching this end of this childish shit
Fun undercard for Zayas vs Boots. We see guys like Tony Tucker coming back, and Whittaker making his US debut, I believe. I wanna do more research on Rivera and Mills. Wonder if they're actually quality opponents >"Silver" World TitlesHuh?
>>154422182>Tony TuckerWrong Tucker lol. Jahi lacks the TNT
>>154422182>Richard RiveraListed as inactive on boxrec. 74% KO rate against zero guys with an undefeated record. Hasn't fought in over a year. Yet another first round blowout from Whittaker. Yay.>Bryce MillsHasn't lost in forever, but he's pillow fisted. I don't know his actual skill level, but he hasn't fought an undefeated guy in 5 years. Best guy of the three. Vargas by highlight reel KO.>Hendri CedenoThe only undefeated can on this card. Has a fine KO rate against ok opposition, but he also hasn't fought in over a year. Tucker should be able to beat him.
>>154422182Is this fight worth attending in person? No way Zayas and Boots won't be all action right
>>154422451I'm seeing fans excited for Tucker's fight. Plus the main event should deliver too. And there's no way Vargas won't put on a show. If you're in the area, go for it. It'll be a fun event
>>154212034nope. aj's a good technical boxer but he doesn't have the heart or the chin to beat fury.
>>154422641The chin? Even if he was a chinlet, I doubt Fury could put him away
Lmaoooo I forgot fig btfod ball
>>154422271I can't believe DAZN, Matchroom, and Top Rank would have 3 can crushings in a row starring their favorite guys on the undercard of an actual important bout. Wait, yes I can
>inb4 miller pops (again (again (again ad nauseum)))
>>154425133Throwing 1000 punches on a heavy bag is easy
Happy the newer HWs are throwing their hands more. Itauma, Torres, Anderson, the Aussie bloke, they're all letting their hands go with nice combos, instead of brawling like Whyte, Chisora, and Ruiz would do
I think Shock and Ford are both cool, but I need to see Shock win. Ford is part of the Shakur Butt Buddies Coalition and Shock is the only guy willing to dismantle it petal by petal
>>154430720Dunno enough about either guy to make a confident prediction, but I do know Shock has looked a lot better in this last fights. He looked motivated and secure against Nova and Fulton
I get Broner was a mega lolcow in his hay day, but can we do something about his alcoholism now? It's getting sad

Sparring footage of David and Zurdo was released by Golden Boy. It looked competitive, so I'm hoping David flew too close to the sun and Zurdo is going to clip his wings
>>154440730Where did you go, Don Kino?
Apparently Shakur and Muratalla have come to a deal to fight for the 135 title, but I haven't seen any official postings yet

>>154446730Exactly that. What a load of croc shit
>new /box/ thread>literally the same two brits and the finnish heemlets posting the same thing over and overFunnily enough I dont think they realized we’re over here yet. Let’s keep the /cbt/ going. Really looking forward to Inoue Nakatani, Benavidez v Zurbum. Lots of fun scraps this weekend, dare I say eatin’ good
>>154429813Didnt Miller break some kind of record in his recent fight too? As far as punches thrown it was way above the average for a heavy fight
>>154447919I think he entered some kind of club where only 9 other heavyweights threw 1000 punches in a fight, as far as I've heard. Thing is, Miller was treating that fight like sparring lol. Just pitty pat punches on the inside, which is actually pretty easy to do
>>154447906Luckily they're ignorant to /cbt/. The Mexican should know about it, so I wonder if he'll ever notice the thread>Lots of fun scraps this weekend, dare I say eatin’ goodI'm even excited for Munguia vs Resendiz. It's gonna be a crazy fucking Saturday. Turkey walked so DAZN could run
Ford and Shock in May too? May is gonna be crazy
Got shu shu withdrawl
According to the ever trustworthy Mike Coppinger, Canelo and Mbilli have come to a deal to battle this September. Assuming this is true, this is quite the interesting fight. Canelo hasn't gotten a KO in forever, and I can't imagine Mbilli going backwards, even if hurt
>>154448975Even if he is "lying" it's not like that fight is/was never going to happen. It's been building up for a while now
Also Spence v Tim has been confirmed, but we already knew that. July 25th allegedly
>>154449164Im not sure about the weight class. I tim has been fighting at 160 or something and has been sucking ass

>>154448132im aware of this thread lol, just wasnt sure if this was supposed to be the ''good one'', also the fuck is /cbt/ and how are you lads dealing with the schizos?if shit is normal then I might as well coomback to funpost
>>154449771So far this thread has been good. If it goes wrong, I have a backup plan, but I'll have to start from scratch>the fuck is /cbt/Comfy Boxing Thread to the knowers; absolute gibberish to the jannies
>>154449309I'm not seeing any confirmed weight, but Tim has been fighting above 154 for a while now. It's stupid for Spence to fight Tim almost exactly 3 years after Bud at 154, but it's suicide to jump up and fight him at 160Then again, Tim hasn't been very eye catching lately since "moving up"
How can Spence come back and fight Tim after 3 years of nothing, but AJ comes back to fight... Err I forgot his name
>>154439764An audience with Canelo, to the winner
>>154449771>how are you lads dealing with the schizos? One, by filtering UK and Finland, seeing as how it’s just those three weirdos having a roundabout conversation with themselves. Two, by letting those retards have /box/ and setting up camp in a different thread. Comfy boxing threads are always the fallout shelter when the main thread becomes too radioactive, but never in /box/‘s history has it been in such a sorry state. Most people have abandoned it as those three retards have made it impossible to have any kind of discussion. Plus I would argue the state of the sport is in somewhat of a transitory state as the old draws are fading into retirement with not enough new stars, weird Saudi fuckery with fights no one asked for, the removal of cable boxing and transition into streaming services. Im sure when a fight is on it will come back to life, but comfy boxing thread will remain for the knowers. That aside, Inoue vs Nakatani is a huge fight and Im surprised there’s not more buzz around it, but one more for the boxing core. I think a lot of people are underestimating Nakatani
>>154451134>Plus I would argue the state of the sport is in somewhat of a transitory stateIt is quite strange to witness as a "new" boxing viewer with my own eyes. There's going to be a large exodus of heavyweight boxers soon. At least hopefully, for their health>That aside, Inoue vs Nakatani is a huge fight and Im surprised there’s not more buzz around itFor some reason, this knockout artist who likes fighting and showboating isn't a household name among American casuals unlike Tank or Canelo. Inoue has been in way more interesting situations lately and has been more active than them, yet you won't see celebrities going to his fights
>>154449164Good fight. Zoo is an open book, just going to come forward and try to brawl and win on heart, but Spence is out for so long he might get out brawled.
>>154448975Canelo always employs moves he learns from previous opponents, wonder what he'll take away from Bud that he'll show in the Mbilli fight. Stance switch Canelo here we go
>>154449982AJ is on a streak fighting non boxers. His last 3 of 4 fights will be non boxers after this, with the lone boxer knocking him out. He clearly doesn't want to box anymore. He only saved his career by the eyes of the casuals by knocking out Ngannou else he'd be forgotten by now
>>154451938>Reynosos watching canelo get ktfo after switching stances midrange like kambosos
>>154452033Speaking of when will Reynoso get investigated for all his fighters juicing
>>154452073Listen, all the best fighters indulge in a little questionable beef once or twice in their career that may incorrectly label them as PED users.
>>154451910Out brawled? I don't know. Out skilled? Definitely. If anyone in boxing needed a tune up, it's Spence. Idk what he's thinking going head first into Tim Tszyu in Australia
>Floyd Mayweather’s planned exhibitions against kickboxer Mike Zambidis and Mike Tyson are in jeopardy after the IRS notified him of its intention to have his U.S. passport revoked due to an unresolved seriously delinquent tax debt upward of $7.25 million, according to documents reviewed by The Ring.Umm money bros...?
>>154452011>He only saved his career by the eyes of the casuals by knocking out Ngannou else he'd be forgotten by nowlets not forget that the very same ngubu beat the shit out of queen, he was robbed, im not saying hes a real talent or anything like that but he definitely made look queen who at the time was being shilled as the best hw by many really bad, well putting that aside it seems that queen supposedly wants one more fight before the aj one, which I dont think it's a smart thing to do unless hes fighting an absolute can, even if aj vs queen were to happen in dec that leave us with very little time for one more fight, I think hes just bullshiting everyone
>>154452033>Gongora, UD>Derevyanchenko, UD>Lester Martinez, split decision drawMbilli’s supposedly got an 80% KO ratio, but most of those are from his can crushing days. Against his most notable opponents, I wasnt impressed with his power nor his volume. Canelo may be older but he’s got a chin on him. It will take someone meaner than Mbilli to actually hurt him.
>>154452011Yeah AJ seems to be willing to take the Tommy Fury route, where he wants to do meme fights as a career despite being an actual boxer. It's sad, but since his identity crisis, he's been struggling to be that guy again
>>154456514Mbussy is one dimensional. He's like the black Issac Cruz, which means it's not too impossible to not get knocked out by him
Panda Express in the AM; Taco Bell in the PM. Thank you DAZN
Bro broner is FAT. What happened to Don King's boxing? I know AB lost, but King was supposed to "revive" Broner's career. Geez this is pitiful to watch
>>154459887Not impossible, but being one dimensional wont help against Canelo and he couldnt get the job done against the aforementioned guys. Everytime I watch him Im a bit disappointed. Canelo has never been down and it’s hard to say he’s ever been visibly hurt or rocked. Now that can change “overnight” with an aging fighter but Canelo is defensively responsible. I just dont see Msilli causing too much issues for him>>154461779About Bums never been the same since The Lawyer™ knockded his front tooth out. Dino King was already on the verge of delerium. Guy is in his 90s so maybe his health and wits just arent up to snuff to run another event right now
>>154227930You're 60 iq
>>154462870>Canelo has never been down and it’s hard to say he’s ever been visibly hurt or rockedHe got rocked bad before earlier in his career, which is why I don't believe the "Canelo had a great chin" rhetoric. What's true is that he's great at avoiding clean shots, but he doesn't get hit flush on the chin enough to persuade me he has a great chin. Thinking back on the Lester fight, Mbussy can't do anything but come forward and throw at the same pace, so I wonder how Oldnelo will get around that. Don't think he'll stop him, which means either Canelo will win or Canelo will "win"
Wow torres really is calling out itauma. We gotta make it happen. Very interesting match up that will help either guy should they lose. Well, personally, not promotionally...
>>154463268Can't say I believe in Torres to win
>>154463304same, I like the guy but I always said that hes way too small for the div and hes not particularly super skilled so eh, still pretty nice if that fight were to happen, young guys like them shouldnt be afraid of earning a L, that way of thinking should be gone for good
>>154463304I do lean towards Itauma too, but I would like to see him face a competent, fellow fast-combination puncher and see how he does
>>154463210>He got rocked bad before earlier in his careerAnd yet has taken punches from guys like GGG, flush, and barely flinched. He’s got a chin on him, it’s not up for debate. Even Beterbiev has been knocked down more than he has. Canelo got staggered EARLY but it’s not like he was in survival mode doing the stanky leg. I also dont think that paints the full picture of his career. The point being that Canelo is not an easy nut to crack. Even if you want to say “well he maybe got hurt 20 years ago so he’s chinny”, he’s got very strong defense as well as knows how to roll with punches to take the steam off them. Crawford, Bivol made it LOOK easy, and Canelo is slowing down, but they also never hurt him and wouldnt commit rather choosing to overwhelm Canelo with volume and movement. Mbilli is not that kind of fighter, nor does he have the raw power to make a worthwhile “trade” with Canelo without getting knocked out himself. >>154463304Torres may be an underdog BUT he’s hungry and he does have explosive power, speed, and good aggression. Itauma has yet to truly be tested against a fighter that’s like that. Itauma’s main wins are Demsey McKean (lol), Dillian Whyte far past his prime, and punching bag Jermaine Franklin who only gets wheeled out to make other heavies look good as he’s not a threat.Torrez’s best win is Vianello, which honestly I think on paper is a better win than any of Itauma’s opponents, but he also is wet behind the ears. It’s a good fight. Torrez is smaller, it does matter BUT he is a LIVE underdog and it would be fireworks to watch those young guys go at it. I could totally see Torrez pulling it off or getting knocked out, or both guys having a pretty even fight
Naoya Inoue - 121.9 lbsJunto Nakatani - 121.5 lbsDavid Benavidez - 196.8 lbsZurdo’ Ramirez - 200 lbs
>>154464004Fierra also missed weight for the umpteenth time, but this time the fight wasn't canceled. Probably because they couldn't cancel two of Duarte's fights because his opponent came in over lol
>>154463656I do think Mbilli and Canelo is going to be a very interesting fight. We'll see Canelo in a mode we haven't seen him in a while, either going back and using his brain or standing in the center/ropes the entire round. It's gonna be fun
>>154463656>Torrez’s best win is Vianello, which honestly I think on paper is a better win than any of Itauma’s opponentsThat's why I either want Itauma vs Torrez or Itauma vs Vianello next. Set up the fight or make it happen right now. Half of the participants WANT IT, and the other half is beating known guys with relative ease
How possible is a double upset?
Fucking tear gas made it into the area of an Efe fight today. Fights had to be "restarted"? What a bizarre turn of events https://x.com/DAZNBoxing/status/2050330585743208606?s=20

Davids always been a little soft in the middle, but idk if it's because he's shorter and next to Zurdo, but man does he look fat
>>154468485Random thoughts: Benavidez hasn't carried his power to 168. Watching his fight with Yarde, he was landing overhand bombs but still took seven rounds. I'm not sure he bothers Zurdo at cruiser. From this pic alone I'm leaning towards Zurdo. Benavidez was also rocked multiple times against Morrell. He's got underrated defense with his high guard but he still gets hit really cleanly and he doesn't look very solid when getting hit like Canelo or GGG. This might be too big a step up for him
>>154468974People seem to forget he was dropped while he was throwing a combo earlier in his career. That's the best way to land on David since he can't pull while throwing A lot of fans on other social media sites don't like to acknowledge David's lack of KOs above 168 (barring Canelo fans). It's something serious to consider; I genuinely believe he's a "pillowfisted" fighter at the classes he belongs in, and he was chronic weight bully at 168. Still, how Zurdo responds to relentless pressure will decide if he gets UD'd to death or pulls off the upset
>>154468485the mutt has never been body beautiful so no one really should expect him to look like adonis lol, hes just goot that chubby CHI look>>154469969>I genuinely believe he's a "pillowfisted" fighter at the classes he belongs in, and he was chronic weight bully at 168thats pretty much obvious but hes still got a good engine, which is key for his fighting style, thats how he stops his opponents, not by actual power but by accumulation, dunno why that bothered some fags in the past lol, they were claiming he was this big puncher when thats never been the case like I said its not like he needed to be like that because his style didnt rely on big punches for his KOsas for zurdo, he has faces big punchers at cw but none of them were pressure fighters like the mutt so that should be a good match up, we gotta remember that cw zurdo is more of a boxer, meaning that he moves around the ring and what not, so if he doesnt do anything retarded he should be ablle to do something against the pressure of the mutt
Zurdo is a bum.>>154470520 sums it up well. David Benavidez has always been a fatass in both appearance and spirit, but he has fast and more importantly ACCURATE hands. It’s not that each shot holds immense power, but that they are fast and find their mark. You can look up Benavidez’s connect percentage if you think Im exaggerating. Zurdo has never impressed me although I hope he can make this fight interesting. For the Benavidez haters out there, keep your expectations low on this one.
>>154470941>Zurdo has never impressed me although I hope he can make this fight interesting.I personally liked the cbs fight, he looked good in that one and althought the doritos fight wasnt particularly good, that fight showed that he wasnt afraid of exchanging punches with a guy that was known for having power I dont think either guy winning should be considered a surprise, it will be up to the mutt to make the fight interesting
>>154470941To elaborate on this, you can check Compubox for their averages across all fighters and Benavidez is at #2 for total connect percentage at 38.5% with only Shakur slightly higher at 39.8%. He’s also 8thbon Average total punches landed/round, with most of the people ranking higher than him being much smaller fighters like Chocolatito, William Zepeda, Bam rodriguez etc.According to Compubox Benavidez has the third most accurate jab putting him alongside Shakur, Inoue, and Bam Rodriguez. Joshua and Bivol are in the top.David’s power connect percentage in the top 10. Also in the top 5 for opponents landing the least amount of power punches, showing David’s underrated defense and good spacing. All these stats are just to drive home a point for a big guy, he’s accurate and connects a lot. They never really tell the full story and when even Conor Benn is showing up in some of these top 5s you have to question the usefulness of such statkeeping as they are ultimately arbitrary measures. Question is how likely is the move up to cruiserweight going to slow him down considerably or is it more of a necessity due to not being able to make weight? Perhaps seeking more glory in another division. But to put Zurdo down as completely useless isnt fair to him as a boxer. This is a dangerous fight to be having in a new weight class 25 pounds up. Still, I expect Benavidez’s shots to find the mark like they tend to.
>>154471021I have a skewed bias towards Zurdo, particularly due to guys here hyping him up for years, Mr Baldi Boys and all that. He just always comes off as a guy that misses the mark. I think Benavidez is simply better, but if Zurdo brings his A game and Benavidez is extra sloppy, maybe it can turn into a real battle of wills. I feel in order to win Zurdo will need to tap in to something he’s yet to show in previous fights rather than going about to me what seems like never leaving second gear. Lukewarm is how I feel about Zurdo, but Im just some fag who doesnt know shit about boxing so naturally you can discard these as the ramblings of a retard
Going to wake up in 5 hours and if I miss the Inoue Nakatani fight I'm going to be very upset
Wake up, boys
DAZN didn't broadcast Jin Sasaki vs Sora Tanaka, which many people are calling a FOTY contender. Sasaki won by split decision
you guys reckon these scraps will be any good?
>>154473256You're already awake, so you may as well watch it
Baby Inoue is up first
Baby inoue isnt too bad
That cross is landing pretty consistently from baby inoue
>>154473503I was so close to saying he might stop him lol
2nd KD in round 3
>>154473518Good thing I didn't...
>>154473256>DeKang WangEven China can't escape the BBC craze...
Never seen a faster bike in my life that this guy
>>154474736I dozed off. Glad to see it's still going
>>154474860This is the least honorable samurai of all time and he almost got sparked out by a guy named DeKang
Running is NOT how you deal with Chinese Isaac Cruz
Holy shit I almost missed it
Inoues willingness to step inside a southpaw's foot to land his jab is very interesting
I shouldn't be, but I'm impressed how cautious and responsible inoue is being. He's gotten dropped a lot lately because he's been reckless, but I think he knows who he's fighting today
>>154475626It's turning up now. This is when an opening is either gonna be forced by Inoue or found by Naka
>>154475501Pac does that too from a southpaw, good idea if you are fast with your feet and good with angles
Feel like it's beginning to snowball in Inoues favor
>>154475739It looks like those jabs are starting to become a problem for Naka
Really wish the ref spoke Japanese. Don't know how well Inoue knows English
Horrible luck for naka. It was just going his way
Inoue needs to do something now. He can't let Naka have these last few rounds and he's landing more and more
Good combo from inoue at the end. Man that cut fucked Junto up
Yeah Inoue by decision. Luckily there wasn't enough drama for a rematch, so we can get some of the dream fights we want with inoue
Great learning experience from Junto
116-112 x2115-113Fair, probably would have have the same
Ideally, David Zurdo is the complete opposite where both guys are throwing caution to the wind and exchanging in the middle of the ring, but I'm a realist
When Nakatani pressed starting round 8 it took a round and a half for Inoue for figure him out. If Nakatani started firing earlier he might've been gassed by mid fight and possibly stopped. Not on the same level really
>>154478022Yeah, experience was big this fight
They're saying Junto suffered an orbital fracture, and I think I know the round. It was probably when he was going on the backfoot throwing nothing. I think I saw him cover one of his eyes like Inoue did once
I was way more impressed with Inoue this morning than I really should have been. Fought a good puncher who wasn't afraid of him in the slightest and took care of business as always. I was convinced Inoue wouldn't fix his defensive problem, but he knew to lock in against a puncher. Are we gonna rotate Usyk and Inoue between 1 and 2 on the p4p like we did with them and Bud lol?
Anyone saying this fight was boring is probably a casual or an mma fan
>>154479876I thought it might have been one of the vicious uppercuts late rounds, similar one to Canelo breaking Saunders
>>154481288It might've happened that round. I just remember Junto going defensive and putting his hand over his left eye. I thought the cut was bothering him, but he may have been seeing double
Spence vs Tim is going to happen at a 158lb catch weight. Wow
so whats next for inoue?what do you want him to do?
>>154482400If he can move up to 126, there's a lot of western stars he can fight. Inoue has been humanized a bit recently, which I believe could encourage future opponents to not be afraid of him. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see Shoe Shoe vs Inoue
>>154482400Inoue comes to the US for Shu Shu or longer shot with Bam since he said he wants it
>>154476928Probably not middle of the ring if Benavidez can help it, he wants all his opponents on the ropes. Yarde found most of his success although little in the center
>>154483786I really like bam but I feel like the guy is being reckless, with that said I wouldnt mind the bam fight as long as is the next one for inoue
Prelims are live now
This kid is not as good as they're making him out to be
>>154483952I got to favor Inoue heavily if that fight happens. Bam is insanely talented but Inoue is a big step up at this point in Bam's career, nevermind the weight. Bam would have to pull off a legendary passing the baton type of fight
Not the best 2nd fight for Capetillo, but also, this was a very good 2nd fight for the kid. He didn't look good, but it's good to suffer early against lesser opposition
Very interesting seeing DAZN and PBC's slurpers on the same broadcast
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvj0jjWLd9EBetter than DAZN broadcast by a mile
>>154486646Can't believe DAZN is still fucking up their broadcast till this day
Turkey is apparently pushing for a "Riyadh Season Japan" with Inoue vs Bam for 2027. We'll see if Inoue wants to deal with him
The event is still fucking concluded?
I fucking hate dazn so much. How they're still a thing, I honestly have no idea. Shitty performance, mistake after mistake, cringy promotion, and predator subscription deals. HOW are they still running?
>>154487408I have no idea. Apparently they do other sports as well. I haven't paid them a penny, I miss HBO so much
Not a bad opener. Prison looking nigga wailing on the other guy immediately. Nice
>>154487536Uh oh they're slugging
The favorite is getting battered
It's insane Flores hasn't gotten him out yet
Lmaooo this is the most punches landed all year apparently wtfff
Undefeated little men who clashed in the Olympics are fighting. Chavez looks better technically, but Sanchez seems more willing to brawl
Actually a pretty fun fight, this is
The good old tactic of using their face to block punches
I went to make dinner. How did chavez get away from boxing?
Holy shit he got up
Wow what a blueball of an ending. Chavez was EXHAUSTED, not hurt. He fell because of exhaustion, not because he was taking too much damage. Should have let it go the distance
Did I hear that right? The final scores were close?
>>154489082Baffling to let him continue then stopping it one second later without a significant punch landed
>we still have duarte, munguia vs resendiz, and David vs ZurdoBruh
>>154489163He ruled it a slip initially, then changed his mind. He probably had the rest of the rounds in his mind and didn't want to have a death on his hands. Wrong call totally, but he's gotta sleep at night
I'm going to need some KOs or I'm going to pass out before Zurdo wins by UD
>>154489446Duarte is up next. Either he's getting fucked, or he's fucking someone
40-fucking-k because you couldn't put the jaritos down. NEVER complain about being broke when you retire
>>154489446Didn't we just have a KO? Wtf
>>154489617I meant time wise since I woke up for Inoue Nakatani. Hoping main event doesn't start too late
>>154489690Ah. You didn't take your power naps, did you?
Maybe it's a good thing Duarte didn't fight Hitchins...
This is absolutely horrible
>>154489761Nah I got pumped up after that fight and now I'm crashing
Duarte could use some feints to set up
No replay? Wasn't that a dick punch?
Saved by the bell
>>154489954Damn my stream is behind. I was like, huh?
Nice rare double KD
>>154489976At least I think it was before the bell. Don't know I muted the streamI can only take so much "analysis" in one day
Now it's getting good
>>154490004Lol those Brits were annoying this morning. It was ruled after the bell, but accidental since it was in the heat of the moment
Fierro finding success with his uppercuts. Duarte's is leaning too low into his high guard making him easy target for uppercut and overhands
Temple shots are so crazy. He could take his shots on the chin, but that temple... I wonder if he'll recover in time
Damn Fierro is landing a lot of shots now
>>154490126Duarte is so fucking flatfoot, holy shit. He's literally there to be hit
Is everyone in David's room?
>>154490169After watching films of Benavidez which I think is one of the best pressure fighters, Duarte's front footed style by comparison is not nearly as efficient. Duarte doesn't incorporate any defense or feints, just pushes forward, giving his opponents opportunities to land. If you watch Benavidez versus Yarde a lot of times Benavidez forces Yarde into the ropes without even landing. Safer offense through responsible defense
>>154490328Hes only gotten this far because of his power. Not even aggressive like Issac Cruz. Hitch fucked up not getting him on his resume. Very easy win for him
Duarte has nothing but combos, and even then he stops throwing for a full second to... Catch his breath? What a joke
NOW you turn it up?
Bit of a sloppy slug fest have no idea who won
>>154489484>>154489446I want to apologize for what I said. I misled you.
>Duarte landed 13 out of 231 jabs this whole fightI'm thinking Fierro won on principle
>>154490462Fierro doesn't deserve it, but he deserves the win tonight
116-112115-113 for OscarLmao
Wasn't scoring, but I probably would have had it 116-112 Fierro at least. 116-112 Oscar is mad
>>154490444>rounds 1-11>I sleep>round 12>Oh shit time to let my hands go!
The fairest result on performance was probably a draw but I would prefer the winner if either to be the one who actually made weight
>>154490609*The first few seconds of round 12. Ended the fight like he began it
Me, the 500 pound man who has never had a fight in his life, reclining in a Laz-E-Boy six beers deep:>If I was him I woulda jabbed more
Resend-DEEZ fights back to DAZN
Canelo with Munguia shirt picked Benavidez to win. Good shit.
>>154490611Really anything but Duarte by decision would've been good. Fierro landed on the gloves a lot, but what did Duarte do? Land a good shot occasionally?
>>154490707>what did he actually do?Stuffed his face with tacos and burritos before the fight apparently
>>154490756Duarte or Fierro
Tonight? We are all Mexican.
>>154490762El Amigo Gordito
>>154490644Bomac...?
>>154490787Bomac was a pro (bum) boxer before he turned trainer. As they say ‘If you cant do, teach’Me? Never had so much as a scrap, but mostly because Im a smooth talker. If it were to come to blows surely my years of garage boxing will pay off! On secondthought I’ll just stay inside
Plant bros... Our loss is aging like corpse in a summer sun...
Munguia looks big in there, he's been eating good, Reynoso's special
>>154490950You know what, I think I saw Munguia eating from a sketchy taco stand earlier today. If he comes up dirty, that's why...
Resendeez appears a little hesitant to close that gap. It's like he's unsure how to get past Jaime's punches without getting hurt
Is Jaime actually gassing?
>>154491104He might be, but he's already banked all these round
>>154491104Yeah he's getting tried, but Resendeez isn't giving him anything in response
He just doesn't know how to close the gap
Are they booing Canelo?
Canelo is grooming Jaime so be a champ so he can rob him later
>>154491223Yes lol. Benavides fans are in attendance, you know
I'm surprised Resendiz is still walking forward and looking composed despite all the combos Munguia is throwing his way
All of my streaming sites just croaked. Dazn agents found me. It's over
Resendiz beat Munguia back in the ropes, great heart
>>154491361Found a stream as it ended. Did he finish strong?
>>154491376Resendiz almost got knocked out, but Munguia's ring IQ is simply too low and couldn't get the job done, and in the process got beaten back into the ropes to end the fight
>120-108WOW. Literally 12-0. Plant bros... Why....?
>>154491388I know he was struggling with his cardio tonight. You think he was starting to get fucked because he was doing too much?
>>154491411Very likely, when Resendiz was on his bike ready to go, Munguia didn't go for the kill, maybe because he was already so tired he couldn't chase him. Then Resendiz cracked him during one of those sloppy combos
Zurdo has the bigger titties. Impressive
>+400 underdog for ZurdoBit disrespectful
>konkreetLiterally who?
>Thomas Taylor This will be good
Very impressive from Benavidez, what will be Zurdo's answer to the jab and the speed
Turdo don't fucking fail me
>that flurry of punchesb-b-b-b-based!
Well, Zurdo was almost doing well that round
Zurdo doing much better but Benavidez is still blitzing him with short punches and combos. Man Benavidez hates going backwards
>>154491651He’s willing to be the bigger man. He’s letting his hands go, but Benavidez makes another strong statement at the end of the round. Better from Zurdo, he has a chance…to get kayo’d if he keeps taking hits like that
I wonder if the judges are giving round 2 and 3 to Zurdo. David looks... Off when Zurdo gets close
I've never seen Benavidez at this level>>154491703Zurdo's success so far is trading and exchanging with Benavidez but like you said he might go lights out if he keeps doing it
Zurdo is willing to eat these shots if he gets a chance to hit Benavidez. He’s not respecting Benavidez’s power as much, and I wonder if he can outmuscle him.
Absolutely fucking incredible work from Benavidez
Zurdo I swear to GOD
MA MA MIA
>>154491763This is an elite level Mexican fight
>Zurdo's corner: jab, don't get pulled into his fight>Zurdo: doesn't jab, gets pulled into the fight
Zurdo won that round. Can he can his team come up with a plan together and capitalize on this revelation?
Zurdo seems to have recovered well, but is he fighting mostly instinct?
Zurdo starting to look like the elephant man
My god man Benavidez knows what punches to throw
Orbital fracture, most likely. Fucking turdo. FUCK
This is one of the most impressive offensive displays ever. Please move Benavidez up high on the p4p list now.
Fuck it: wilder vs Benavides. Make it happen.
>>154491843No kidding. Great counter punching too. He just fucked up Zurdo’s eye, he didnt want anymore. Fractured orbital maybe? Immediately grabbed his eye and the swelling was already looking bad. Pretty stellar job from Benavidez, surgical destruction of the bigger man. Timing, accuracy, speed.
>>154491858The fat fuck can be at like 5 or 6. No higher than that
>>154491891Who is better: bumabidez or shitkur?>>154491858Agreed. P4p lists tend to really favor fighters who can win belts in multiple divisions. This is a good accomplishment for him and he did it in great fashion. Bivol beat him 12-0, Benavidez knocks him out after moving up 25 pounds. Technically it was some high level boxing, props to Benavidez, I never really get the hate beyond him being cocky
>>154491880Every shot was hard. Benavidez doesn't play. He either feints or sets up by pulling gloves or positioning his opponent and just rips clean, short, fast shots. He doesn't paint, doesn't waste lazy jabs. Every flurry froze Zurdo on the spot. I can't think of a more impressive offensive win for now, maybe Pac vs Hatton, Pac vs Cotto
MONNNNZZZQUAAAAADDD
Canelo is NOT fighting Benavides EVER. I still favor my boy Bivol at 175
>>154491935>bumabidez or shitkur...alright, he's higher than shakur on the p4p list. Shakur is way better technically, but David has demonstrated multiple offensive layers in theoretically challenging circumstances. All Shakur has is retarded tayohfeemo
>>154491949Id favor Bivol there too. He’s just the perfect boxer and if David has a flaw, it’s his flatfootedness and tendency to lean back which Bivol would capitalize on.Cue Benavidez motioning “c’mon man quit running!” He will struggle against a mobile sliccster at the top of his game like Bivol. If Beterbiev couldnt do it, I dont see Benavidez doing it. Zurdo is slow and there to be hit. Benavidez at least has long arms, but Bivol is just the better athlete, mind, and mover. Probably faster too.
>>154491949Very tough night for Bivol, but he could do it with extreme discipline. Bivol can't win on defense alone, like he learned against Beterbiev 1. So Bivol has to punch, and Benavidez will exchange with Bivol, he will be one of the fastest fighters Bivol has faced.
>>154491998>“c’mon man quit running!”I can see that shit too lmao. I wanna look at clips of David dealing with (good) out boxers. I know you can find some success pushing him back, but you're walking through glass shards engulfed in flames shot out through a canon when you do that. Wonder how he'd deal with a guy who has great footwork
>>154491989I think potentially Shakur is a much better boxer but I just dont like his approach. He’s too reserved in the ring and just comes off as scared. I just wish he’d apply more presence rather than this cocky yet extremely low volume stinkers he’s been putting on lately. Teofimo is a good win and yet that retard is extremely inconsistent
>>154492024Bivol loves his straight punches, which theoretically should beat David's looping punches. David slips sometimes, but he mostly likes the counter hooks from the high guard. I might be blinded by my bias, but I don't know how he'd counter Bivol's straights if he isn't first
>>154491989>Shakur is way better technicallyIt's just as impressive to be front foot fighter with Benavidez's tight defense always within punching range and his punch selection picking opponents apart. Plus for all of Shakur's skills, he fights like a bitch to showcase them. He's no Crawford. Don't give me the boxing purist crap either.
>>154492053Benavidez doesnt like to constantly have to reset because he likes to plant his feet and let off those flurries. I also dont think he’d be able to cut off the ring well against Bivol either. To be fair, fighting Bivol is a nightmare for anyone, but Benavidez’s accuracy would plummet while Bivol resorts to pot shots forcing Benavidez to constantly “reset”, which would get him frustrated.>>”I came here to FIGHT bro let’s give the fans what they want” *motions you to come forward*
>>154492071Benavidez can throw very short effective punches midrange to inside if Bivol lets him close. I favor Benavidez during those exchanges. Bivol has to win from the outside, which he has been doing forever. Plus for my money Morrell still gave Benavidez one his hardest fights, moving and boxing will keep Benavidez at bay but not forever. Bivol had to back up Beterbiev to win the 2nd war which was extremely dangerous, he'll have to do the same with Benavidez
>>154492054>potentially Shakur is a much better boxer but I just dont like his approachEven if you ignore his super defense-focused approach, how can we prove he's a great boxer? He's calling out Benn and Ryan at catch weights and avoiding his buddies. David and Bud have shown us that skills > weight. When you're good enough, jumping 7lbs from 140 is nothing, yet he doesn't want to do that. I wonder if he lacks confidence in his ability to handle massive punchers at their best. It would explain his performance against Santos. That fear would suggest you aren't as great as you seem
Triple G? More like triple B (Bivol, Beterbiev, Benavidez). Please clap.
>>154492083I'm mainly looking at David's poor backfoot fighting and feet in general. Plus his stance is amateurish and his defense is basic, though very effective. He gets very far because of his confidence, natural speed, and offensive skills. That being said, Shakur is still better fundamentally (might be the better word) imo
>>154492090I'm pretty sure David can cut off the ring. He's kinda wide lol. I might be thinking of vs Plant, but Plant isn't like Bivol
>>154492140Yeah on that I can agree. Benavidez does not like fighting on the back foot. Motherfucker would rather lean back like the matrix to avoid taking a step back. I hope he doesn't any ideas to try to learn how to get better feet, just maul people and that's enough.
>>154492114I think David is taller, so Bivol would have to get closer to land his straights anyway. I'm interested to see what Team Bivol comes up with
New >>154492181
>>154492024>>154492114Good points, this would definitely prove to be one of the tougher fights in his career, but honestly I still consider Beterbiev the stronger more experienced boxer compared to Benavidez. Styles make fights and they have different proportions but when Bivol “trades” it never really seems like a fair exchange fir the other guy. He has a way of negating the opponents damage. I dont see Benavidez landing flurries against Bivol, but maybe part of one. Bivol will reposition if it’s not favorable for him. He will look for opportunities when Benavidez would be too slow or in a weird position to fire back, such as Benavidez leaning backwards rather than using his footwork. Bivol will make you pay for movement like that. Betebiev never leaned. Had underrated footwork and a tight guard while being just as destructive of a force, and in my opinion Bivol dismantled him, albeit with some major risk involved. “He has to be perfect all night” and he usually is. Bivol is one of the fighters who is built like a well oiled machine. Yes Benavidez is fast, but I still favor Bivol’s boxing ability here. He’s not gonna get into these reckless exchanges. He will constantly change angles and never allow David to get comfortable to where he can load up or land multiple shots. A battle of jabs and pot shots, with Bivol letting 2 or 3 go when he knows Benavidez cant fire back. Benavidez will throw flurries with 90% being blocked or evaded. Bivol is the master of patience, he will drag the fight out.
>>154492160And this type of leaning crap will allow Bivol to push forward and knock him down, not with power but just causing Benavidez to lose balance. It’s a really bad habit and Bivol WILL punish him for that, it stood out to me as the major red flag for this fight in an otherwise great performance. Zurdo was too slow to capitalize on those moments, but Bivol and his team will be waiting for that moment to strike
>>154492150Bivol is a far better mover than Plant come on now. Just look at how Canelo dealt with each guy. He eventually caught Plant whereas Bivol bullied him. Only Beterbiev in my opinion was capable of cutting off the ring with his great generalship and positioning, but even he couldnt corral him properly. Blame it on the old legs but Bivol is nearly impossible to pin down, I dont care how good you are. Genuinely some of the best footwork in the sport and that is NOT david’s strength
