As far as /sp/ is concerned the Arsenal fans here are fucking unbearable. The why is because

1) It's genuinely funny to most people to see another club fail. That's nothing personal in general
2) Arsenal play cowardly and boring football, it's a very unattractive style that does not make neutrals root for them. They could play better - and that makes it even worse

I never understand this argument. Arsenal aren't some plucky underdog club, they're one of the richest sporting organisations in the world. Why does the fact they won titles in the 1930s or the 1950s or whatever make a difference? I will never understand why football fans act like a club having a "history of success" somehow gives them a free-pass to splash money around willy-nilly. If Arsenal had a team fully made-up of homegrown academy members then that would be one thing, but they don't, they have an internationalist team of foreign-bought players like everybody else does.
