>The Washington Generals are known for losing the vast majority of their games, with a record of over 17,000 defeats against the Globetrotters
>Their only win occurred on January 5, 1971, in Martin, Tennessee.
>The usual comedic routines were toned down that night, allowing for a more competitive game. With seconds left on the clock, 50-year-old Red Klotz, the Generals' owner and player, hit the game-winning two-handed jump shot to secure a 100–99 victory
>It was not scripted and the win left players on both teams and the audience in shock. Many Globetrotter fans were left in tears.
