All you Eurocucks planning on going to games in New Jersey are gonna pay $150 instead of the normal $12.90 to take the train to the game

can't expect FIFA to be dipping into their $11B World Cup profitz for the sake of shuffling a few fans around. There was still perhaps a happy medium inbetween 'free' and 10x+ the normal fucking fare tho. Its blatant price gouging (and monopoly abuse), no other description for it.

NJ won't get a cent from FIFA. FIFA don't care fans have to pay $150 for a train ticket. Even fewer fans will visit or travel by other means. Won't get anywhere near the $48M they intend to extract from passengers. The fanfests that NJ didn't cancel will be largely deserted and a waste of money. Good job, Jew Jersey. Will be stiffed with a rather large bill and hardly see any returns.
If Spain, Portugal, Morocco or the UK had any sense they'd organize their own fanfests and use the occasion to lure tourism bucks to their countries (with the upcoming trnys). Germany are already taking advantage. Their free fanfest with fairly priced food and drinks will probably be better. The US ones ones will charge entry fees, offer goyslop at extortionate prices, will be closed most of the time, etc.

direct line from the hotel to the stadium is about 750 meters

I don't really understand the planning, because it is obviously centered about cars and people are expected to drive to the stadium, but those who drove to the hotel are then expected to drive from the hotel to the stadium again?
Like having a car doesn't make it any less frustrating once you are in that hotel, it must be lovely to end up in a traffic jam on your way to the stadium you could see from the hotel room
>>

$12.90 is still pretty expensive for a train ride for an hour though. In Ireland its $7.50 return from a place an hour away to Dublin.

Then again can't really blame FIFA for this shambles New York/New Jersey governments are price gouging fans despite promising free transporation and a free fan fest.

Americans don't like walking. If you go into any Walmart here you will see massively obese monsters riding mobility scooters. Once gas becomes insane in prices the US is gonna be in a world of hurt outside of NYC which actually has a competent transit system. Invest in motorcycle companies now considering the Iran shit is gonna do exactly that and only bikes will be on the roads when gas costs 10 dollars a gallon. I actually have seen more people riding bikes more than anytime in my life in my city because of gas and the cost of cars in general.
>>
>>154264609
that hotel is next to multiple major highways, so walking isn't really feasible because you'd need to cross a freeway. In reality, there are dozens of hotels around there, some of which are on the other side of the complex and are walkable -- though it's a long and unpleasant walk. Some might have shuttles, but you really need to take a shuttle. Fact is, this stadium was built in a swamp and 99% of fans for its normal events are coming from more than an hour away. That would be the case if it were built anywhere except maybe brooklyn or just a bit further into long island. Its proximity to highways is actually a convenience. The NYC area is a logistical nightmare for ground transportation because of the water.

She's pretending to spend $62 million in NJ taxbucks for some added transit personnel and a few rent-a-cops during the 8 matchdays. No infrastructure investments were made as NJTransit already were getting fans to NFL games or concerts. Train tickets will be x12 as expensive and they hope to scam 40K passengers out of $48M in total. The rest they receive from federal grants and such.
The $62M figure probably includes "FIFA-provided vehicles". Each matchday 22,000 fans, mostly from sponsors, can rely on these to go to the games and be driven back to their hotels. They don't pay a single cent.
People won't pay $150 for a 30 minute trip on a crappy train. Fans are already booking alternative transport bussing them to and from the stadium for a fraction of that price. Roads will be congested so FIFA are getting scared. They and busloads of England fans will be stuck in traffic. Imagine all those Barrys and Daves drinking themselves into a stupor for hours on end. Expect fireworks shooting out of their assholes, again.

Tiny Qatar supposedly spent $220-$300 billion.
The US has spent fuck all. No need to be this much of a jew. Other host cities are providing free shuttle services or charge the same amount as any other day, a few bucks. NJ (and Boston) could have simply not put in a bid. Chicago and Las Vegas aren't hosting for example. Some New York politicians are now posturing they'll exclude NJ from future events.
Also, it's odd that host cities struggle to find sponsors for fanfests. E.g. Bay Area one has been scaled back despite all those fortune 500 companies that don't clash with FIFA's spansors in their backyard.
>>
>>154254633
MLB can do the funniest thing and counter-program the World Cup by being the cheaper summer activity for once.

You have to think ahead further than that. Look at the Meadowlands from above. The only thing around the stadium are industrial areas, the mall, and a few hotels. Where are people walking from? The mall? Already has a pedestrian bridge. The industries don't need a pedestrian connection to the stadium. I guess that leaves the hotels, and if they want it that bad they can raise the money to build it themselves.

That highway median between the hotel and stadium complex, the one with the lake, appears to be undeveloped, ungraded land, which would make it the only such parcel of land for a mile in any direction. There's probably laws against touching it, such as flood mitigation regulations. The parcel that the hotel was on probably shouldn't have been developed either, but they apparently fit a few other non-sports related buildings including an office complex in there
