They have done this consistently for years. They did it for the USFL/XFL games and they are doing it now. It's exactly why I always prefer the ESPN one. The crowd and because they lean more into an XFL style broadcast than FOX does where this is more of an "NFL-Lite" broadcast.

I read a comment either on YouTube or somewhere else where someone watching one of the UFL games said the game wasn't good for them to watch because the "crowd noise was too loud" and you couldn't hear the commentators talking because of the crowd. It's people like that who have no idea why the XFL was as awesome as it was. This is shit is for US. By that, I mean it's for those of us who want something that isn't just the NFL again. It's unpolished, players slip and fall when it rains, the UFL has unique rules like the no punting after the 50, the double forward pass (which nobody seems to want to do), 4th and 20 when down in the 4th quarter, etc but it's this and the fans made it what it is. Sideline interviews, hot mics on the refs, coaches and review booth, QBs etc also help, but it's a game that has only lived this long because the fans, although relatively small, are dedicated and keep coming back.

I don't like that we have people coming in who just want the UFL to be NFL lite. Yes, this is football, but nobody is here for NFL football, it's UFL (XFL/USFL) football and UFL fans. Unlike the NFL, we love the bullshit so long as it's fun bullshit and not things like what happened last week at the Louisville/Storms game finishing on a penalty. I just wish newcomers would assimilate rather than critique it and shit on it for not being like that other thing they are used to. NFL is NFL, UFL is UFL and both should be looked at as distinct leagues with their own pros and cons.
