Why does Miami not care about baseball? Even Inter Miami averages more with around 20,000 per game.

Same as always, to just operate in service of the Yankees. Their owner is literally just a lifelong Yankee fan who bought them so he could give Jeter a job so they could "hang out", and to give any Marlins player who pans out in the majors over to the Yankees for cents on the dollar. Hell, not even that since he offers to pay most of their salaries to play in NY too

I think you have the wrong pics. It should be the Mets.

There's only so many knives in the back a fanbase can take (24 of the 25 highest WAR players in team history were traded away)
No true breakout star in years, Sandy's just not consistent enough to really be one
It's actually a poor city where the well-to-do that would normally make a season ticket base don't live there in the summer
Surprisingly thin corporate base which would also do a lot of comping. Some of the largest companies here just so happened to be owned by people who also own teams in other leagues so they're not going to help the competition.
For those exceptions with money that do live here in the summer, they're too vain to care about baseball and would rather party or go out to the water
The park is almost up there with Dodger Stadium in how close it is to the urban core with no metro rail service (unless you think crossing a drawbridge over a 30 minute walk counts)
By moving deeper into Miami-Dade, made it harder for fans in the other two counties in South Florida
Jose Fernandez was the last chance to fully capture the potential of a Cuban fanbase because professional players from that country are often much darker and Cuban Americans are too racist to identify with them

From a sports perspective, which US city would I be?

>I hate MLB
>I hate baseball
>I hate the NHL
>I hate the NFL
>I hate the Super Bowl
>A city where only Major League Soccer is relevant
>A city where the MLS team is the most important of all
>A city with no success in MLB, NHL, NBA, or NFL
>A city with a soccer-specific stadium

LA Galaxy play in Carson, California and are the only team in that city, they're also successful.

That team has been around 33 years and has had like 10 fire sales
The word fire sale is listed as a link under culture on their wikipedia page

How pathetic does an MLB team have to be for even the major league soccer team from the same city to have higher attendance and be more popular?
>>
>>154296258ove them and build some mixed usage buildings. I honestly don't think anyone will care after a year except North Easterns who can't see their Yankees and Red Sox

Mets actually have fans

isnt it a little weird cause baseball is absolutely huge in florida. when i go down there to cape coral the kids are playing doubleheaders on weeknights in november (diff teams but back to back games scheduled i mean). it's pretty fucking miserable down there during peak baseball months like july august and september so maybe that's an issue

doesn't messi play for them?

They basically applied the strategy used by the big European clubs:

They bring in a superstar player.

It's literally because the ownership has been shitty
Wayne Huizenga starts the team
Wins the series and then strips the team for parts immediately because the city won't build him a stadium
Sells the team to John Henry so sells to failed Expos other Jeffrey Loria who kept having fire sales (despite accidentally winning a series in 03, from which the team would be dismantled immediately)
Loria finally sells but doesn't go to super rich Jorge Mas who owns Inter Miami but instead to Bruce Sherman because he had Derek Jeter on board who then sells all the core they had managed to find to the Yankees for pennies on the dollar

Retarded ownership plus putting the stadium in the ashes of the old orange bowl (aka middle of the hood with nothing to do outside the stadium besides park and walk in)

Can't pay me to go to a game and this is someone who saw Alex Gonzalez' walk off in game 4 of the 2003 world series in person.

>with nothing to do outside the stadium besides park and walk in
Is baseball so boring that teams need have activities outside the stadium to convince people to go to their games?

When there are more ushers than people in attendance? When those ushers start kicking people out of seats that aren't theirs in the 3rd inning because they have someone in the rafters is looking around at which seats should be empty? It's easier to drive to MIA or FLL, park and watch the game in the shitty concourse bar before going through TSA. Cheaper and probably a better time too.
