How come football players don't pick up other sports when they retire? They're already in top shape cardio wise compared to most sports

Petr Čech now plays as an Ice Hockey goalkeeper for Haringey Huskies in the 4th tier.

Alex Zanardi was a racing driver, crashed so horribly that his legs were amputated and he had to quit, so he took up disabled hand-cycling. He dominated that too, and was based and awesome, and then he crashed again a couple of years ago and I don’t think he can do hand-cycling either now.
