I hope one day we get footie board here, fuck it call it /sc/ - Soccer, I don't care... I think it would be better for both footie and other sports. At times I want to be able to discuss 2nd tier footie, or other competitions like Brazilian state league and regionals, without sharing the conversation with 1st tier and continental footie talks. So the best compromise I can think of right now is a general exclusively for 2nd tier footie, but since I don't think there is a single 2nd tier league that can justify its own general, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a combined one. One where we can talk about Serie B, Championship, 2.Bundas, the other Serie B, La Liga2, USL, etc...Thoughts? Also, I was thinking of calling it /2tier/ but IdkBesides that, talk about interesting stuff happening in your country's 2nd tier in this thread too
more than two lines I don't read
>>154299628Noted. The next OP won't have more than 2 lines
>>154299620not including primera nacional in the OP image? okay i see how it is
>>154299620does brasileraio have relegation and promotion system?
Interesting proposition
>>154299683Anon, I just googled best 2nd tier leagues, copied the first few logos that appeared and made the image until it was a neat rectangle. Every single 2nd tier competition can be discussed here. Including of course La B
>>154299685Brazil has 4 national tiers with promotion and relegation. The top 3 levels have 20 teams each with 4 pro/rel spots, the 4th level is more regionalized. Our 2nd tier isn't far behind the 1st tier, and I would risk saying that the best teams in BR Serie B are about the same level of the worst teams in BR Serie A.State leagues are separate leagues from the national one, but the qualification for BR Serie D is based on your state ranking.
USL mentioned
>>154299757iirc USL was trying to get 1st tier status, so Idk how that would work, but for now it makes sense to add it here
>>154299771please watch our league
>>154299814I've watched a few matches on youtube actually. But that was because there were no matches from our league at the time. I also think this general could get some anons to watch some leagues they would never do by themselves. So it's something I'm also excited. Fucking /copalib/ got me to watch a Peruvian cup match once and it was actually neat
Friendly reminder that we might be looking at a Red Star promotion this season.Meaning that in two seasons, we could have jumped from "Paris is the only european capital with just one club" to three parisian clubs in Ligue 1>inb4 some absolute footix goes "well akshully Red Star isn't in Paris intra-muros" shut the fuck up you know exactly what I mean
>>154299928>created by the jules rimetIs the red star related to communism at all or just a coincidence?
>>154300021Red Star's name actually predates the use of the red star as a symbol by communists, that's how old the club is.It IS a coincidence that it was named that and was the workers' club around Paris as opposed to the posh clubs founded by english expats.
>>154300057Based then, also>4 years older than our oldest active clubRed Star lifelong fan here
>>154300102IIRC Red Star and Le Havre are two of the oldest still active clubs in the world (although I think Le Havre had to be re-founded after a bankrupcy in one of these cases where the club legally stops existing for a day so ownership transfer or the creation of a new legal entity by the same people can be processed, I don't remember the exact details for this case)
Derby have had a great season considering we stayed up on the last day of last season. And the journey back from almost liquidating and league one. However we cannot kid ourselves as this Championship has been pretty poor. Next year you will have Burnley, West Ham/Spurs, Norwich and Sheff Utd looking much stronger and Southampton/Ipswich/Boro if they don't go up.Unfortunately we have too many injuries right now to make a strong push into the play-offs, but you never know. COME ON YOU RAMS!!!
>I'll never see my club in the first division again because of the shit format and you have to suck Tapia's ball so he rigs it for youHonestly it wouldn't be that bad if we had the old 2011/2012 format cause it was comfy but having 40 teams in La B is such a shitshow. I can't wait to get eliminated from the world cup by Argelia so the fucking president fucks off alreadyBtw OP I like the idea but needs a better name
>>154300510My team has never went above Serie B and it's the team that has played the most in it...
We're shitting the bed and might fall out of the playoffs. Huge game on Tuesday night were we can relegate Leicester to League OneOverall though it's been a great season despite having a transfer embargo. Sergej Jakirović has been a good manager and the embargo meant we had to be shrewd with transfers instead of buying Turkish league shitters for too much because of our crazy Turkish owner.
