>get fouled on the red X>given free shot from the blue OIs it time we admit the current penalty rules are broken?
this is why a goal from outside the box should count as 2 goalsif you're good you score two or three such goals and you dont give a shit about penalty (+1) goals
I dont get itwhats the problem?
>>154300541Penalties are scored about 3/4 of the time right? There's no way that having the ball in large parts of the penalty area results in a goal anywhere near 3/4 of the time. The penalty area should be much smaller, something more like this.
>>154300561they should scrap the idea of penalty area altogether. if you get chopped down by a last defender 30 meters from goal it should be a penelty but getting pushed on the edge of the box with 20 players around should never be a penalty
the sport as a whole is broken and full of retarded bullshit but it will never get fixed until the "mUh SPiRiT oF tHe GaMe its always been like this" boomer crowd are all dead
>>154300561Imagine busparking teams with this new box
>>154300852>this box vs Inter in the CLNightmare fuel
>>154300852Not 100% convinced by the goalkeeper's positioning here
>>154300838Great, can't wait to see how you zoomtroons ruin it even more
>>154300486>get fouled on the red X>given free shot from the blue Oyes, he prevented a clear goal scoring opportunity
>>154300561The penalty for a foul should be fierce enough so players are encouraged to not make a foul. The penalty should generally not be equal to the opportunity that is taken away from the attacking side because it encourages committing a foul and therefore stoppage, whereas you want the game to flow on as much as possible. Applying this change would just result in everyone outside your penalty box getting fouled 100% of the time and would make the game even worse.>>154301032People are gonna respond to you that this is a 1 in 10 situation, but they should realize it's not just about scoring from the red X, it's about the opportunity being in possession at red X creates which includes great passing opportunities
>>154301171The punishment should be harsher than the chance that has been removed via the foul, but not overwhelmingly so, otherwise why not give a penalty for every foul? There wouldn't be constant fouling in the same way there isn't constant fouling outside the current box, they would still be giving away a direct free kick near their goal. There is no way that possession in the corner of box creates on average anywhere near a penalty's chance of scoring, its silly. More goals are scored from possession 5 yards outside the D and no-one is saying give a penalty for that.
>>154300486When I was a lad you only got a penalty if the foul was in the 6 yard box. It's weird the way you see players shrug off heavy challenges everywhere on the pitch and then the same player turns into Bambi on ice when he gets inside the 18 yard box. I'm sure it's just a coincidence though. I'm sure you would see the same thing if it changed back to the way it was when I was a lad.
>>154300486It's obviously a problem that fouls on players who were never gonna even shoot are rewarded with a goal but there's no way of fixing it that isn't stupid.Look at the non-red yesterday. You can't let these refs make interpretation calls. As is the penalty rule serves to add tension within the box
>>154301292>players who were never gonna even shoot are rewarded with a goal but there's no way of fixing it that isn't stupid.we could start by having the player who got fouled kick the penalty, instead of letting the penalty expert do itwouldn't actually fix the problem but it would make it a teensy bit less bullshitty
The current pitch markings were standardised in 1902. What are the chances people who were playing 2-3-5 formations and every game finished 7-4 happened to choose the optimal penalty area size for modern football?
>>154300486Fixed it.I unironically played like this when I was younger with my brother and neighbors. We had a small dirt pitch in an abandoned big plot of land nearby, we tried drawing an actual pitch but it looked awkward because of the box, it would either be too small and near the goal or too big which made the side area look small, so we chose to stretch the box all the way. We always had fights about allowing kick-ins instead of throw-ins so I eventually suggested we allowed kick-ins if the ball was out by the side of the box we stretched, everyone clapped and hugged me, and then we played like that for a few years until the mayor (a huge, unironic, faggot) built a fucking park on it which is mostly only used by druggies now.Anyway, it was fun while it lasted. The offside line thing was how we actually did it, but I think for actual pro footie it would be gamefied in a way. Hockey does something like that iirc, so it might be good, idk. VAR-ing offsides would be easier I guess, stadiums could even put lasers on the offside lines in a way VAR could check in real time.
Penalties should not exist in football outside of cup ties to decide the game. If you get fouled in the box, it should be a free kick from the edge of the box and all opposition players are allowed to stand in the box. This would disincentivise diving. Same for ricochet handballs too. Get rid of them.
>>154300501>this is why a goal from outside the box should count as 2 goals>becomes basketball where every teams gameplan is too shoot 100 shots from outside instead of playing actual footieNo thanks.A decent alternative is to make direct free kicks and direct corner kicks goals worth 2 goals. That way we get rid of the long cross statfaggotry.
Not nearly enough indirect free kicks imohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgAmsEAghX8
>>154300561>>154300486Don't foul, simple as
>>154301250>why not give a penalty for every foul?reductio ad absurdumstopped reading there as it says enough
this would simply be fixed if they stopped calling every physical play for a foul, start refereeing like the 80s and 90s again and it will be fine
>>154301947it would be fixed if diving was punished properly, and reviewed post match tooso much of football's bullshit would be fixed if they stopped rewarding all that faggotryof course it's never going to happen because every sports organism is corrupt
Extremely low IQ post
>>154302080There would be less incentive for diving if there was less space in the penalty area where you are unlikely to score but likely to be given a penalty.
>>154301032For me, it's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn3GZYVt1-o
>>154302108yesthere would also be less incentive if getting caught diving meant a suspension
>>154300561this post was brought to you by real Italian terrorists
>>154300745And also that chopping down 30 meters from goal by the last defender should not be a red card automatically, but always a penalty.Straight red cards should be for plays that have the potential to injure.
